Suffering of This Present Time 01/25/2024
Daily Devotions: by Christina FarrisRomans 8:18-28 KJV
18 For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.
19 For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God.
20 For the creature was made subject to vanity, not willingly, but by reason of him who hath subjected the same in hope,
21 Because the creature itself also shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God.
22 For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now.
23 And not only they, but ourselves also, which have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body.
24 For we are saved by hope: but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for?
25 But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it.
26 Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.
27 And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God.
28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. This morning at 7 AM this passage caught me off guard because often I don't dig deep enough because several verses are highlighted in my memory of this very passage. Truth we can get entangled with the highlights amd not dig deep. Best highlight some more verses and dig.
There groaning for a time of the coming of Christ we wait for, including the earth herself that groans in the wait of death and rebirth. Science tries to explains this with plant growth on Mars where there once was life but now only hope of life within the planet. Is Bible scholars wondering about these changes in universe and wondering about God and his word concerning a new heaven and a new earth or does the believers not neccesarily scholars hope for more then what science themselves reveal of impeding hope on a new planet far far away. Theory or revelation you decide. Is it spirirual, physical or both?
As a Bible student of God's word and the world around me, I have to remembee who created our world in which we live. Science is not God though they may sow seeds from our planet onto Mars. We have to dig deep beyond what is clearly seen to know God's power to change, to send his Son back to us in human form. To create a new heaven and a new earth not by an act of man but by the will and word of God. That the earth is transformed as we ourselves are as sons and daughters are; first on earth and changed or transformed for heaven and also the new Jerusalem which is all made by God's word. Our hope is in God who gives hope through Christ.
Earth groans in pain because people dont rejoice or honor God any longer. Man abuses the earth. We ourselves groan in our infirmities waiting for our redemption to come and God's Spirit speaks to God for us concerning our weakness of our flesh and Spirit. Concerning our problems we might not be able to voice, but he knows the need and helps us in our sickness or our spiritual and our bodies. He hear's our heart. We know all things work out according to his will and purpose for our life, because we love God, who is transforming us into image of his Son Jesus.
We work through God transforming and shaping us then doubt God's ability in the transformation with Christ coming? Who gives life to a seed? God does and transforms it as it grows into some type of plant. If we can trust God to transform us we need to trust God on the day of his Son's return. I not a bird but I will fly to meet him in the sky.
Dear Heavenly Father prepare our hearts for transformation yet to come. In Jesus precious name, Amen. Continual Scripture Study: 1 Thessalonians 4:14-18 KJV
14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.
15 For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.
16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
18 Wherefore comfort one another with these words. http://www.turtle30cshell.com
