Deliverence
01/24/2024

Daily Devotions:
by Christina Farris

2 Peter 2:9 KJV
9 The Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out of temptations, and to reserve the unjust unto the day of judgment to be punished:

During your trial and tribulation you need these two scriptures and whether you read this devotion in between will not affect your spiritual battle. For two seconds you have taken to decide what you will do you read at the minium the first verse and trying to decide to scroll or just keep reading. Did I tempt you to read. Did I lie about whether it would affect you spiriturally only perhaps so. Which did you choose first. If you scrolled down you choose God's word over my typing. Take that has you want. In truth if I write by God's inspiration it might not be as well written as Bible that was prayed over by more then one Bible scholar to canonize it. My work is not canonized by men. Meaning it be consider inspirationalize but not authoratative. Yet I know some ministers have taken time to read some modern thoughts on old subjects. There is a point I talking about deliverance today and temptation. What was Christ deliverence in the hours of temptation at going to the cross? Fitst way to combat temptation is by knowing God's word and second is prophesy unfolding or one can never survive the evil one.

I have had my worse luck with refrigators. In 2005 I could not replace my refrige and someone gifted me a refrige after almost a year. During that time I learned to rotate ice bottles to maintain adequete refrigeration using a deep freezer. Refrigator gifted was a blessing for about ten years. Now I waiting on a repair man to service my refrige. Because of hard winters and possible power outage I continue to freeze water. Of course it helps in times of crisis. Helps being able to bounce having a solution. Second refrige we bought a year ago was replaced once because it did not work and it broken down the first time from being the replacement.

There is a point Christ first round of known temptation came wirh knowing his Father's words in scripture. The last temptation coming at the time of the cross with deliverance coming with the resurrection through the prophetic word that all things must come according to the will of the prophetic word of God in regards to prophesy of the cross, which his Father spoke to the prophets and Jesus spoke of ot through prophesy to the disciples. Yet Jesus himself had to come to a place of praying not my will but his Father be done. The temptation to be rescue instead of going to the cross was in his human need of deliverance.

We all feel the need for delivernce in our life and maybe as a child played hooky from class to avoid taking a test on time or prehaps give an oral report. As adult the temptation to escape maybe found in pills or alcohol but it does not free oneself from real responsibility and real life. Our temptation to throw the towel in of a situation can be found in our own need of deliverance from the problem instead of riding the wave or going through the eye of the storm.

We must come to terms with our situation when it not changing, can not be changed, or will maybe get worse. We can learm to beat simple temptation with the word of God, but the temptation to use our humanity and going through the eye of the storm even if it is through normal amd abnormal dying process takes sometimes the power of God. In Christ humanity God's Spirit did not leave Jesus until His will was done and Christ said it was finished. Three days later God said it is not finished for your my Son and raised him up to finish the work he had for him to do. In truth Christ work on the cross was done but God had more work for him to do.

Hopefully soon my refrige will be working again and its days are not over. My life will continue even after many storms and temptations, but must rely on his word to accomplish his will in my life. His will to deliver from evil, from temptation, from sinning against him must come with my belief he will deliver me if I will trust in him. Where was Christ deliverence? It came after the pain and the eye of the storm. He came with victory over death. Christians if we hold on resist temptation and go through the eye of the storm we will be delivered. Our hope rest in our faith in Christ, God the Father and Holy Spirit to supply all our need according to his riches in glory. His richest access is love.

Last verse in todays Continual Scriptire Study turn from idols. Why turn from idols because when you trust in him God promises to deliver because our trust is in the Lord.

Dear Heavenly Father help us trust you for all our deliverences. In Jesus precious name, Amen

Continual Scripture Study: 1 Corinthians 10:12-14 KJV
12 Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall. 13 There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.
14 Wherefore, my dearly beloved, flee from idolatry.
