Rooted In Faith 01/22/2024
Daily Devotions: by Christina Farris2 Corinthians 11:3 KJV
3 But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.
I have writen on Adam and Eve more then once. Yet conveying the root of orignal sin being caused by someone else instigating it. The idea someone else cause/made another to sin. If we are going to grow up we must take responsibility for our actions, despite being tempted. Admitting fault if we at fault. Somethings happen at no fault of our own and we get blame for and that just life on earth.
The message Christ is simple. Love God and love others first lesson given to man. Second message is repent and be baptized because we all fall short of the glory of God. Eve loved Adam but did she realize what she did would cost both their home and force them to live in the wilderness. Maybe not known there was consequences for sin, but she found hope through having offspring. Her eternity not could God raise the dead but could she herself have offspring and reproduce that one day carry the child of eternal life. Heavy yoke for the mother of all living.
Our well being resting in not being lead to continue into temptation. Instead following in Christ footsteps and allowing Christ to be Lord so sin does not reign in one's eternal soul. We slip up, we move following after Christ.
Our journey in faith is not allowing other to entice us from God and Christ Jesus. To be rooted and built up in Christ Jesus. To stand rooted in the principals of faith Salvation being number one and not chasing the philosphy of this world. Though Ecclestiastes is old Old Testament book written by King Solomon it is a book of philophy or ideas about life and the need of God is still there and understamding his purpose that is to be fulfilled in our life. Though life seems to have no meaning beyond the run of the mill existence. Why did God make our life such? Then discovering to honor God for glory because He made us.
Yet philosphy no matter how wise a statement can become like melody for itching ears. Words of wisdom that is truly the wisdom of the world and not God. It often imitates words God's said first in his word.
Are we listening to God so we know what is not of him. Are we learning Christ? Hard to follow Jesus if you know nothing about him or how to walk in the Spirit of faith listen and obeying him. If you know not Christ died for sins of the world, you can not walk in his forgiveness and mercy.
Dear Heavenly Father help us know and obey your world and not philospies of this world, but rooted and built up in Jesus. In Jesus precious name, Amen. Continual Scripture Study: Colossians 2:2-9 KJV
2 That their hearts might be comforted, being knit together in love, and unto all riches of the full assurance of understanding, to the acknowledgement of the mystery of God, and of the Father, and of Christ;
3 In whom are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.
4 And this I say, lest any man should beguile you with enticing words.
5 For though I be absent in the flesh, yet am I with you in the spirit, joying and beholding your order, and the stedfastness of your faith in Christ.
6 As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him:
7 Rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving.
8 Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.
9 For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily. http://www.turtle30cshell.com
