Three Baptism Of Spiritual Faith 01/16/2024
Daily Devotions: by Christina FarrisActs 19:1-7 KJV
1 And it came to pass, that, while Apollos was at Corinth, Paul having passed through the upper coasts came to Ephesus: and finding certain disciples,
2 He said unto them, Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed? And they said unto him, We have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost.
3 And he said unto them, Unto what then were ye baptized? And they said, Unto John's baptism.
4 Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should believe on him which should come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus.
5 When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.
6 And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Ghost came on them; and they spake with tongues, and prophesied.
7 And all the men were about twelve. To speak about revitalizing conditioner, we must understand the soap has been applied to hair and conditioner is only need next for the hair. Some use gels, oils, hairsprays, mousse and so forth including tonics. But the only thing that works on our head is the Holy Spirit.
Paul runs into people that knew who John the Baptist was and he baptized in remission of sin only. No where does it say they were ever Jews. This being in Ephesus it possible they heard of the need of repentance from either someone baptized by John or someone had been there befor Christ baptism. What we do know they knew not Jesus. Paul explained who Jesus was and the were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. Then Paul explains who the Holy Spirit is and they receive the baptism of the Holy Spirit laying on of hands. When people want to baptize a person into the emotion of the Holy Spirit I get concerned. Baptizism of the Holy Spieit must first come wirh knowledge who he is.
Now we have people without the Jewish heritage but are saved by Jesus. The understood the need of repentance to God the Father. Knew nothing about the cross but Paul sits and explains it all to them. Then he explains about the Holy Spirit being a teacher, comforter and a guide in their daily life. He would as an educator explain about the gifts and operation of the Holy Spirit. Though scripture does not in this passage say what he said to those in Ephesus, we have a letter to the Ephesians that tells of the seal of the Holy Spirit from the day of salvation and God's mark on the heart by God's Spirit.
Emotion should be because joy God brings to the heart. The gifts for ministering the Gospel of Jesus not for a side show and pushing anyone to the floor. Being slained, healed and so forth is possible if the Lord is doing a work in the presents of the church for his glory and honor. The conditioner is the Holy Spirit. That lotion after bath like the anointing of the Holy Spirit used to revitalize and rejuvenate our faith because of his work he doing in our daily life.
Mainstream churches baptize Father, Son and Holy Spirit on water baptism. Yet water baptism is a sign of faith, the gift of the Spirit being performed is a testimony whose child you are. The baptism of knowledge and understanding of our faith is a process. It not over night but basics can be explained for receiving salvation by gifts of the Holy Spirit in another life. The scripture can take much longer to atudy, meditate and receive as truth. Spirit gives way to conviction on the individual heart with understanding of a need for a Savior and God's presence moving and working in our individual life.
Dear Heavenly Father please continue making your word clear in our hearts. Upon faith and baptism may we grow in knowledge and understanding of faith In Jesus precious name, Amen. Continual Scripture Study: Ephesians 1:13-23 KJV
13 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,
14 Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory.
15 Wherefore I also, after I heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus, and love unto all the saints,
16 Cease not to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers;
17 That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him:
18 The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints,
19 And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power,
20 Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places,
21 Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come:
22 And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church,
23 Which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all. http://www.turtle30cshell.com
