Daily Devotions:
by Christina Farris

2 Kings 5:14-19 KJV 14 Then went he down, and dipped himself seven times in Jordan, according to the saying of the man of God: and his flesh came again like unto the flesh of a little child, and he was clean.
15 And he returned to the man of God, he and all his company, and came, and stood before him: and he said, Behold, now I know that there is no God in all the earth, but in Israel: now therefore, I pray thee, take a blessing of thy servant.
16 But he said, As the LORD liveth, before whom I stand, I will receive none. And he urged him to take it; but he refused.
17 And Naaman said, Shall there not then, I pray thee, be given to thy servant two mules' burden of earth? for thy servant will henceforth offer neither burnt offering nor sacrifice unto other gods, but unto the LORD.
18 In this thing the LORD pardon thy servant, that when my master goeth into the house of Rimmon to worship there, and he leaneth on my hand, and I bow myself in the house of Rimmon: when I bow down myself in the house of Rimmon, the LORD pardon thy servant in this thing.
19 And he said unto him, Go in peace. So he departed from him a little way.

Yesterday I stop not really finishing my thoughts on the exfoliating of Naaman. Imagine being sick with incurable disease like leprosy. In many forced to leave family in friends and live in leper colony. There many types of leprosy still in the world today and some with no cure. Yet this one hope from the Prophet in Samaria could only offer him hope through obedience of what he said to do. After six dips in the water Jordan he still had leprosy but on seventh dunk his skin became total exfoliated. How would you feel, after the first moments of joy came I want to pay for my healing. He returns and shows the prophet and know somehow the king of Israel would hear of it. No doubt the King of Syria was thankful. No doubt his wife was grateful. The little girl probably just praised God.

True scripture doesnt tell the response of family and friends but one would hope joy filled the palace, but it not always so. Joy elation of someone healed of a deadly disease that caused not just painful sores, many to be cripple, and eventually dying from infection. To think it is still not all types are curable today.

Those who came home to live from the plague of this century did you come home rejoicing, even if you were not fully yet restore to normal health.Think there was no medical treatment in Naaman day and though there were scientist and people with known cures for other ailments God was the only pne to be able to intercede in this case. Note Naaman understood it was the God of Istael that exfoliated his flesh through obedience but the real exfoliation came to his heart upon reverence to the God of Israel and a grateful heart because he now believed there was no other God but Israel's God. His experience life altering.

Naaman had to help master the king enter a pagan temple. He did not want to upset his new God. Elisha said God would pardon him. Elijah told him to go in peace after he tried to pay him. All money and gifts was refused by prophet. Now the story will be picked up where we left tomorrow.

Today what or how much is your healing worth, could you ever pay God back. Truth when disease is without hope one comes to a place of either acceptance or looking for cure. Why God doesnt heal everyone the same way, maybe as simply saying God's will is being fulfilled in each life. Naaman would no doubt be a witness of who God was in a foreign land. God's power gloried inside Israel going outside to the gentiles that said this God cared about them. One conversion of a gentile Old Testament. Some of the lies of the fact God didn't testify to the Gentiles or did not always care about them needs to be put to a halt. Maybe with understanding that God has cared for thousands of years for all people, will maybe understand why Christ coming was so important to all. God is a God of all people that choose his ways. Why was Naaman only leper healed from from a foreign land when Israel had plenty of lepers? For God's testimony to the gentiles that would see, hear, and believe. To give light to gentiles. A type of Christ. Faith is exfoliate the believer with truth for God's glory and honor.

Dear Heavenly Father may your name be glorify, help us in our unbelief so we can glorify you. In Jesus precious name, Amen.

Continual Scripture Study: Luke 4:27 KJV
27 And many lepers were in Israel in the time of Eliseus the prophet; and none of them was cleansed, saving Naaman the Syrian.
