Supply 02/20/2024
Daily Devotions: by Christina Farris1 Corinthians 9:1-18 KJV
7 Who goeth a warfare any time at his own charges? who planteth a vineyard, and eateth not of the fruit thereof? or who feedeth a flock, and eateth not of the milk of the flock?
8 Say I these things as a man? or saith not the law the same also?
9 For it is written in the law of Moses, Thou shalt not muzzle the mouth of the ox that treadeth out the corn. Doth God take care for oxen?
10 Or saith he it altogether for our sakes? For our sakes, no doubt, this is written: that he that ploweth should plow in hope; and that he that thresheth in hope should be partaker of his hope.
11 If we have sown unto you spiritual things, is it a great thing if we shall reap your carnal things?
12 If others be partakers of this power over you, are not we rather? Nevertheless we have not used this power; but suffer all things, lest we should hinder the gospel of Christ.
13 Do ye not know that they which minister about holy things live of the things of the temple? and they which wait at the altar are partakers with the altar?
14 Even so hath the Lord ordained that they which preach the gospel should live of the gospel.
15 But I have used none of these things: neither have I written these things, that it should be so done unto me: for it were better for me to die, than that any man should make my glorying void.
16 For though I preach the gospel, I have nothing to glory of: for necessity is laid upon me; yea, woe is unto me, if I preach not the gospel!
17 For if I do this thing willingly, I have a reward: but if against my will, a dispensation of the gospel is committed unto me.
18 What is my reward then? Verily that, when I preach the gospel, I may make the gospel of Christ without charge, that I abuse not my power in the gospel.
Ministers feed minister by the word. Dont have food or money for the minister share the word of God. If you got abundance still share what your learning in scripture and give as God leads you to give. Who does not teach someone to fish without teaching them to clean, bake and fry the fish.
I failed at learning to batter the fish but knew how to clean and gut the fish. There a point if your taught to cook you shoulf be able to cook the fish even if it with salt and pepper. Teach some one the laws of God they like the ox that never muzzle knowing he be feed the grain harvested that he help plow. Cows and ox are lead by a rope not like a horse with a muzzle that one leads to water but he wont drink.
Share the word and God does provide the need not always the want but the desires of the heart. God's provision are our needs in this world. Our need of love, joy, hope, long suffering, comfort and much more.
To trust for daily needs it does take an experience of need to understand his supply and our almost demand. The farmer plows his field never knowing if the gardem will grow. The homeless never knowing if the food pantry doors will open because he sold his watch. The guy up a street leaves food for a person in need never knowing the blessing til caught in the giving. The unknown share of God's provision.
It the answer in the dark one wonders how and it the grace of God, some happened by that care. People general care about others if they have it to give.
God's grace is often hope of young and old that havent learned to fish or can no longer reel the catch in. Yet both young in old are feed.
Compassion of an almighty God that cares is a experience of life that can not be compare to wealth of always having. God gives out of his supply. Can we trust for spiritual supply a long with physical supply. What we labor for is what we often reap like the farmer waiting for his crop anf if it fails God still supplies.
Dear Heavenly Father help not only labor for needs but also for spiritual food that our hearts need daily supply of everyday. In Jesus precious name, Amen. Continual Scripture Study: Philippians 4:19 KJV
19 But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.
