Matthew 10:27-31 KJV
27 What I tell you in darkness, that speak ye in light: and what ye hear in the ear, that preach ye upon the housetops.
28 And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.
29 Are not two sparrows sold for a farthing? and one of them shall not fall on the ground without your Father.
30 But the very hairs of your head are all numbered.
31 Fear ye not therefore, ye are of more value than many sparrows.

God values us more then sparrows, yet this passage is also speaking of tome of persecution while spreading the Gospel that would come after the cross. We not fear who kill the body but the one that can kill both body and soul. To contrasting ideas here. We more valuable then a bird but not unworthy to die by the hand of man for the Gospel sake. Conflict not really if you understand where your eternity is.

We know if God present at the fall of one sparrow, he is present for our cross as he was present with the cross of his Son. If God takes time to count our hairs how precious are we. When I crochet I count every row and sometime stitches depending what I am doing and it can be tedious at times when workiing with fine thread. The hours God spends counting my hair speaks he cares about the intricate parts of our being, especially has we move out in the will he has for our life, in not always pleasant but he cares for us and knowing that he cares even through times of earthly trials, we wait for our eternity is not without hope.

Presecution can come to all not just people of faith. Tribulation and trials coming without hope or a greater purpose would be unbearable. The parent that rocks a crying baby or small child all night and goes to work the next day know that hopefully the illness will pass and their own need of sleep will come.

God holds us and is with us through the trial knowing even in persecution he will take us home or free us for a better tomorrow to life everlasting with him. He knows what awaits his people whether periods of joy or sorrow. God looking at the bigger picture. What seems big now is like the background of city buildings fading in the light of a sunset in painting very huge but day will dawn again with the mini park with children laughing in the foreground. Those trials huge but a new day comes forth with hope.

Dear Heavenly Father reminds us of how much you know already about us that we run into loving embrace and the sheltering hope of eternity. In Jesus precious name, Amen.
