Lift Them Up 02/13/2024
Daily Devotions: by Christina FarrisExodus 2:1-10 KJV
1 And there went a man of the house of Levi, and took to wife a daughter of Levi.
2 And the woman conceived, and bare a son: and when she saw him that he was a goodly child, she hid him three months.
3 And when she could not longer hide him, she took for him an ark of bulrushes, and daubed it with slime and with pitch, and put the child therein; and she laid it in the flags by the river's brink.
4 And his sister stood afar off, to wit what would be done to him.
5 And the daughter of Pharaoh came down to wash herself at the river; and her maidens walked along by the river's side; and when she saw the ark among the flags, she sent her maid to fetch it.
6 And when she had opened it, she saw the child: and, behold, the babe wept. And she had compassion on him, and said, This is one of the Hebrews' children.
7 Then said his sister to Pharaoh's daughter, Shall I go and call to thee a nurse of the Hebrew women, that she may nurse the child for thee?
8 And Pharaoh's daughter said to her, Go. And the maid went and called the child's mother.
9 And Pharaoh's daughter said unto her, Take this child away, and nurse it for me, and I will give thee thy wages. And the woman took the child, and nursed it.
10 And the child grew, and she brought him unto Pharaoh's daughter, and he became her son. And she called his name Moses: and she said, Because I drew him out of the water.
Drew him out of water. Daughter of Pharaoh's story really began with compassion as she drew the basket/ark out of the water to see what was in it. There is nothing we can deny when a stranger helps a person out, despite faith background and they ask for nothing in return.
Yet in this story of compassion you see God's protection on a baby force to be in the elements of the world under the watchful eye of his big sister. Not knowing what would become of her brother she had hope for his protection until the royal princess appeared. Going into bath perhaps it was hot or the water was clean there. We do not know. Moses floating surround by the bulrushes and the princess sees the tiny ark he been placed in. Her curiousity peek as her hand maidens went and fetched it for her and she looked inside to see a tiny baby. Has he picked him perhaps he began to cry. Moses' sister spoke up to see if perhaps she could help. Nobquestion who she was recorded but we can imagine the sister running joyfully to tell her mother. We can imagine his mother's first dismay and then joy knowing her son was saved by the princess.
A stranger but a public figure cared about this son of the woman who sent her daughter to watch tgat could not bear to do so herself. She hope to protect and hand's if the enemy who wish to kill her son.
To the princess she feel in love with the baby that she was willing to pay for his care and take him into her home probably about age three when he was weaned from his nurse maid, his mother.
Compassion of a stranger that cared for an infant that was different from her ethnicity. She seen perhaps a helpless baby no care where it came from or who he belonged too, but no doubt she knew. She loved him as her own willing to pay for the care she could not give herself.
Many people willing to care for a child not there own, willing to send money help feed starving children. We can not imagine the full nature of the problem. What we understand from scripture ethnic cleansing often started with the killing babies and changed to weak and destitute of a group of people and then to those on the working world based on culture. It is a practice that continues in the world today with government leaders watching. Caring little for deaths on their hands for in their opinion it aids in population. The population war started in America call legalized abortion for women that just didnt want a baby. Every now and then one will hear of corrupt doctors trying to kill health babies of those that wish to keep there baby. Question is: Was it a corrupt doctor or corrupted state government.
One will say they dont want woman's rights abused but government will find away around it. Which is cheaper pay for abortion or child care of the working mother. Yet it will come again before our nation's leaders once more.
Think on what best for all women. I am pro life, but mother physical care must be considered in the equation aa well as the unborn. Mental health is different and must be treated as different. Should it be a part of the equation once the baby is only in the mother nine months or until the body says it is time?
This Princess pulled this baby out of the water and said let Moses live. Are doctors going to pull the baby up out of the womb, water and blood and say let it live without fear of extermination. We all struggle with life of those in vegetated state. Knowing the care of elderly and disabled have a right to be cared for until death, or healing. Some would say it culture.
God pulled his Son up and said arise you will be coming home soon to stay my Son. Your journey of love never done. But the work of the cross is finished and your body will not see decay. That tomb of Christ is not the bones of Jesus.
Love of God for us say we live eternally despite what the world says if we believe. Sometimes these topics sounds like the sacrifice of the soldiers life without true meaning of war. Until human life is of value, until truth is valued, Jesus is our only hope of true life and liberty from sin against God.
Until we look in the ark of the one protected only by the elements and say rise up and walk, we will care until your strong the wrath of God will come again on our nation and nations around us. Lwts lwarn to take people by the hand to lift and build them up because this is love. Love of God. Christ after he rose minister to the people 40 days.
Dear Heavenly Father help us lift and build the world up in the love of Jesus. In Jesus precious name, Amen. Continual Scripture Study: Acts 13:29-35 KJV
29 And when they had fulfilled all that was written of him, they took him down from the tree, and laid him in a sepulchre.
30 But God raised him from the dead:
31 And he was seen many days of them which came up with him from Galilee to Jerusalem, who are his witnesses unto the people.
32 And we declare unto you glad tidings, how that the promise which was made unto the fathers,
33 God hath fulfilled the same unto us their children, in that he hath raised up Jesus again; as it is also written in the second psalm, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee.
34 And as concerning that he raised him up from the dead, now no more to return to corruption, he said on this wise, I will give you the sure mercies of David.
35 Wherefore he saith also in another psalm, Thou shalt not suffer thine Holy One to see corruption. http://www.turtle30cshell.com
