Teach Me Lord 02/12/2024
Daily Devotions: by Christina FarrisPsalm 119:65-72 KJV
65 TETH. Thou hast dealt well with thy servant, O LORD, according unto thy word.
66 Teach me good judgment and knowledge: for I have believed thy commandments.
67 Before I was afflicted I went astray: but now have I kept thy word.
68 Thou art good, and doest good; teach me thy statutes.
69 The proud have forged a lie against me: but I will keep thy precepts with my whole heart.
70 Their heart is as fat as grease; but I delight in thy law.
71 It is good for me that I have been afflicted; that I might learn thy statutes.
72 The law of thy mouth is better unto me than thousands of gold and silver.
Teach me the law Lord. How many wants there faith and life successful. Successful how? I am not rich but there are rich men in the Christian realm. Success in faith is not based on material possessions, it not even built on the memorization of the laws of God but on the knowledge and understanding of who God and Christ is, but also in the obedience to the Spirit of God. This section is taken from the longest passages in scripture but it says volumns of the knighthood of faith. Knight a servant to the king, he learns error in his disobedience to the king, but upon learning his laws and the value of the law he obeys the law. When we fail to obey God, he shows us the cost of our disobedience. The cost may be great or small. David lost his son in disobedience.
Our relationship with God is greater then the relationship of a knight and his king, We may call ourselves servants but God calls us his child. Child through adoption by faith in Christ Jesus. Jesus being the word in the flesh means our obedience to Jesus and God's word should be the same.
Psalmist is speaking to God and asked to be taught judgment and knowledge because he believes God's word. He speaks of that value of God's word and obedience to his word. When we look at faith in Christ Jesus we not only apply the flesh to Jesus but the eternal word he was created by and is.We asking God to teach wisdom not his word alone but about Jesus teaching our human example of judgment and knowledge but that we understand not only truth and life of the word but know the consequences of his word.
Strong thought of truly defining truth of God's word through the Gospels of Christ and the Spirit of following His Spirit that writes the law on one's heart. The value of God's word is worth more then silver and gold of the rich's men in the world.
Dear Heavenly Father be our teacher that we learn to serve you not only in service to you but as your child to desire obedience above judgment of disobedience. In Jesus precious name, Amen.
Continual Scripture Study: Galatians 4:1-7 KJV
1 Now I say, That the heir, as long as he is a child, differeth nothing from a servant, though he be lord of all;
2 But is under tutors and governors until the time appointed of the father.
3 Even so we, when we were children, were in bondage under the elements of the world:
4 But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law,
5 To redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons.
6 And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father.
7 Wherefore thou art no more a servant, but a son; and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ. http://www.turtle30cshell.com
