1 John 4:9-12 KJV
9 In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him.
10 Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.
11 Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another.
12 No man hath seen God at any time. If we love one another, God dwelleth in us, and his love is perfected in us.

To love and to learn that it is a work in progress. I have two dogs and most people that know me a little know I am not a dog person but my husband is. Now those dogs came in my home loved me unconditional. Gizzy would of slept at our feet the first night if I had let her. She is angel because she demands attention from kenny my husband more then me, but she is more protective of me then him. We are the only girls in house being out numbered by males; one husband, two male cats and a male dog. Yet like all dogs I have had, I had to work on loving them back. They truly are my husbands dogs. The kitten adopted us outside the house and older cat well he is only loving to us. There is a point. We can learn to love God because he sent his Son to teach and die for us. Then as believers ee can allow God to perfect his unconditional love in us so we can learn to love others that way. Our response to the work Christ should be love God back.

As we grow on Christ, we have to learn more then Jesus died for us. Yet the first acknowledgement of God's love we give back is when we receive Christ's work on the cross for our sins. Then the second acknowledgement is when we pass his love to others, by witnessing and by just caring about others. We learn overtime to love people unconditional because it not a perfected work in our minds beyond God's unconditional love for us.

As a believer it is a work in progress to understand God loves us all that is why Jesus came. My kitten would say you love who God puts in your path. My dogs would say whoever takes you from the shelter if you want to remain you better love them. Tico always has one foot in the shelter because he like to dive into the trash can, thinking he find something of value and he seldom does.. Tico even gets treats from our plate besides his dog food. Mongo the only other cat loves his mommy and kitten unconditionally and dont like the dogs. It when all four decide they are friends love begins to perfect in their relationship because no one is telling them to stop fighting. Cat maybe angry at the two dogs but eventually they will make up. We may get angry at God for things that happens not knowing His will til much later had a greater purpose for our life. It okay to be like Job and David when it comes to anger and even Jeremiah. Yet we often can not see the greater good or the love of God in the situation. Waiting on God's revelation is waiting on his timing.

Perfecting of God's love begins with each new believer on Christ and then unity among his people til love flourish between his people and as God and Christ love flourishes through the believer into the world. As a child of God we are perfected on day of salvation but we continue to be a work in progress.

Dear Heavenly Father your love was perfected in our hearts upon salvation teach us to love.. In Jesus precious name, Amen.
