Daily Devotions: by Christina FarrisJohn 17:20-26 KJV
20 Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word;
21 That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me.
22 And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one:
23 I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me.
24 Father, I will that they also, whom thou hast given me, be with me where I am; that they may behold my glory, which thou hast given me: for thou lovedst me before the foundation of the world.
25 O righteous Father, the world hath not known thee: but I have known thee, and these have known that thou hast sent me.
26 And I have declared unto them thy name, and will declare it: that the love wherewith thou hast loved me may be in them, and I in them.We are bound by the unity of love of God as believers in Christ. In verse 15 of this same chapter it says Jesus pray to keep the believer from evil. One may think God greatest love might be just to take us out of the world of sin. In reality the believers become lights to others that will receive Jesus as Savior and Lord.
Jesus being one with God desired the believers to be one has he and his Father is one and prayed for our unity. As believers we are united in faith and love. That unconditional love of God. Often harsh and cruel circumstance bind people together or equally divide. In the hills what binds is not always love but loyalty despite true friendship. A code that goes beyond the legal law and the laws of man that holds people together to seem like unconditional acceptance but is not real unconditional love.
Their a reason Jesus taught the religious law and love together. Perhaps allowing him to pay the ultimate price to suffer and for the sin of maybe of innocent responseful action of Barabbas, also representing our sinfulness not done from anger but out of protection. Sin purged and overlooked by God. Yet the crucifixion turned into a plot to get rid of Jesus once and for all. Society following their leaders and desiring their world not to change seen by their moving of the problem by getting rid of Jesus. Yet Jesus had taught his disciples three years. His love binding his disciples but loyalty and devotion tested by the witness of the cross.
How loyal was the love for Jesus, Peter was willing to fight to protect. The arrest coming inside the Priesthood. Those he was willing to defend and go against took Jesus to trial.
When one grasp God will was to be completed despite the cruelty despite the cross and the grave. God judgment coming is cruel but the dead rise not in faith but the will of God to meet their final judgment. Who can stand against God's judgment without intercession of Jesus. Without the intercession of God's word.
What binds believers is the will of God and his love for them and not least but Christ and the Holy Spirit that God gave to all that believe. Those rejecting Christ find no value in God's word. Part of receiving the word of God is receiving Christ and God will despite our human cross and following the will of God knowing we have eternal life. God love did not stop his Son's death but keeping his promise to him that he(Jesus) would rise again Saying to the world you can not destroy God's word or life and judgment of God's word without the will of God happening. The will of God is the word to die and raise again.
When one grasp the unity of Christ comes with the purchase receit that are sin debt is paid upon us receiving, confession of sin and believing. It put each us united together by one faith, Lord and baptism. Unity is wrapped by his unconditional love that did that.
Dear Heavenly Father unite us through Christ Jesus and your unconditional love for all. In Jesus precious name, Amen.

15 I pray not that thou shouldest take them out of the world, but that thou shouldest keep them from the evil.
Romans 6:1-7 KJV
1 What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound?
2 God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?
3 Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death?
4 Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.
5 For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection:
6 Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.
7 For he that is dead is freed from sin.
