Jesus So Loved The World
02/01/2024

Daily Devotions:
by Christina Farris

John 17:1-4 KJV
1 These words spake Jesus, and lifted up his eyes to heaven, and said, Father, the hour is come; glorify thy Son, that thy Son also may glorify thee:
2 As thou hast given him power over all flesh, that he should give eternal life to as many as thou hast given him.
3 And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.
4 I have glorified thee on the earth: I have finished the work which thou gavest me to do.

As a young woman has her coming of age or sweet sixteen, her parents hopes for the blessing of holding their daughter to her innocents into her maturity of adulthood. Of course the sweet sixteen story never been kissed is almost obsolete but still happens. Her purity kept being almost unrealistic for marriage. Her parents loving her through out each age even before birth. Though she completes each stage and plan her parents had for her, she still chooses who her spouse if any will be the owner of her heart.

Jesus not innocent to the ways of man humblely praying to his Father in heaven within ear shot of his disciples. Yet he praying for their benefit but also his own benefit conveying the glory of his Father that was to come for what he must do by going to the cross.

Jesus being given all power over all flesh to all he gave the power to have eternal life. Yet with that power Jesus would die on the cross for our sin.. Allowing his love to show the world ultimate sacrifice for a debt he did not owe, but we ourselves owed. Paying it for the sins of the world.

Jesus had glorify his Father on earth with the work he had done for his Father. This is love month and not a normal passage to begin with and yet it shows the love of Son for his Father and the world. A love given with understanding what would come as well as knowing his time of suffering must come for all thing to be accomplished.

Jesus chose all that would believe in him would have eternal life. a condition his Father gave the world before time began.

Dear Heavenly Father thank you for your love for each of your children. Help us to strive in faith. In Jesus precious name, Amen.

Continual Scripture Study: Romans 10:9-11 KJV
9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. 11 For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.

John 3:16 KJV
16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
