Be Comforted
8/05/2024

Daily Devotions:
by Christina Farris

Matthew 9:20-22 KJV
20 And, behold, a woman, which was diseased with an issue of blood twelve years, came behind him, and touched the hem of his garment:
21 For she said within herself, If I may but touch his garment, I shall be whole.
22 But Jesus turned him about, and when he saw her, he said, Daughter, be of good comfort; thy faith hath made thee whole. And the woman was made whole from that hour.

Wholeness is perhaps most comforting words that people can fully grasp, until one's body seems to be falling apart. What if the next doctor visit you received a clean bill of health instead of a report that tells you how many things are wrong in your body. When the list of ailments is longer then the number of toes and fingers, one must wonder how they are still alive. Because of this list of ailments, how much meds does the individual now have to keep up with that is suppose to help their over all health. Then one day the doctor says they no longer need those meds these people are made whole. That is what being healed should be mainly words of comfort and hope.

No minister in his right mind would tell someone he prayed for specifically for healing go and throw away your meds. One the person healed only knows if his body feels well and doctor is probably the only one that should remove medicine.

This comfort of wholeness, Jesus spoke himself because he knew faith of this woman had healed her and she knew the flow of blood had ceased. What does this tell you about the power of Jesus did not just flow from him when she touched the hem of Jesus garment, but he also knew she was healed by that power becaused she believed.

Can we expect the power to flow without faith? We can go believing to be healed at a healing service and not receive healing, but we can go knowing with faith God will deliver through and by Christ Jesus in his time frame.

This women was in a crowd with others in need of healing. Her ailment thought to make her unclean, dirty just like other ailments. To touch his hem, because she thought he was to busy to speak or recognize her, shows she came in humbleness of her heart of her own unworthiness. Jesus showed her, he did have time for her and she was worthy to be healed because of faith.

The minute we pray for healing for someone our comforting words should not be maybe next time, it is not your season for God to shine in you, and it is not God's will right now you got to learn to accept it and move on. Can we say Jesus loves you and we dont understand why not now either but I know God has you in the palm of his hand and he is going to take you through the journey you are traveling on, just keep the faith. May God strengthen your faith and make you stronger.

Our journey of faith can be wholeness in our spiritual life. When I got healed over 20 years ago a song kept playing on the country charts in my area called Drinking From My Saucer, because the cup was overflowing. I never in my life felt so full spiritually but not wanting to miss one drop of how God was going to bless me, I drank from my saucer to keep it flowing out onto the table. Sometimes what going on in our heart flows outward to all those that believe that are around us and help unbelievers believe as well. We are not Jesus but we can pray for people for their physical, emotional and spiritual being and let God have his will in an individual life.

How worthy did the woman feel that touched the hem, yet knew Jesus had power to heal. He healed her emotionally making he worthy to receive and for the world to know publicly around her. Any spiritual doubt that God loved her was covered with the healing. When heal all physical problems no longer hers.

When one look for healing what part needs wholeness first? How will that wholeness and comfort be achieved? Spiritual healing comes with yielding to the Holy Spirit. Listening, obeying, growing in faith. Is one spiritually right with God. Emotion healing comes with accepting of what spiritual or physical state one is in, and working toward healing in both areas the best one can by learning to lean on Jesus.

Dear Heavenly Father we pray for the comfort of wholeness in our bodies that our faith alone will be repaired in areas where we lack. Emotional of being content in areas only you can heal and bring wholeness to our life physically, spiritually and emotionally. We leave it your hands to do the repair work. In Jesus precious name, Amen.

Continual Scripture Study: Philippians 4:4-13 KJV
4 Rejoice in the Lord alway: and again I say, Rejoice.
5 Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand.
6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.
7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
9 Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you.
10 But I rejoiced in the Lord greatly, that now at the last your care of me hath flourished again; wherein ye were also careful, but ye lacked opportunity.
11 Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content.
12 I know both how to be abased, and I know how to abound: every where and in all things I am instructed both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need.
13 I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.
