James 5:14-18 KJV
14 Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord:
15 And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him.
16 Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.
17 Elias was a man subject to like passions as we are, and he prayed earnestly that it might not rain: and it rained not on the earth by the space of three years and six months.
18 And he prayed again, and the heaven gave rain, and the earth brought forth her fruit.

The prayer of the righteous is important. Is oil important or laying on of hands? Not ever church uses oil regular when praying for the sick. Anointing was and act of concentrating for sacred or holy use. Jews uses anointing of religious tools and things used in worship as well as anointing Priest for sacred duties and kings of Israel for godly leadership. Anointing with act of hospitality. When used for health reason it another why confession before anointing and prayer took place, type of concentrating the person and illness as healing to be used for God's glory. With or without oil the prayer of the believers is important. For with prayer of saints will save the sick. It did not say necessary heal but save them. The concern of the soul first and foremost for the one the believers are praying for.

The pray of the righteous prevails much, but it does not guaranteeing the believers will be done but God's will will be done. Elijah prayed for a drought and then prayed for rain. His faith and God's will intuned as He sought God to show King Ahab God's power.

I spent yesterday talking about sin's relationship to healing, but not all illness is because of sin. But all healing is to demonstrate God's power to heal. Man not exempt from the elements of this world that cause diseases and sickness. Sometime a disease is because of original sin in the garden.

Dear Heavenly Father, we come to you at the throne of grace of you reminding us of the importance of prayer of people of faith, In Jesus precious name, Amen.
