turtle30cshell Daily Devotions For April 19, 2024
Nothing New
4/19/2024

Daily Devotions:
by Christina Farris

Ecclesiastes 1:9-11 KJV
9 The thing that hath been, it is that which shall be; and that which is done is that which shall be done: and there is no new thing under the sun.
10 Is there any thing whereof it may be said, See, this is new? it hath been already of old time, which was before us.
11 There is no remembrance of former things; neither shall there be any remembrance of things that are to come with those that shall come after.

I can testify there is nothing new. Yet I can testify I have not seen everything in the world, though social media would love to show you the world beyond even your own community. Though many things have been around for years. Many new things of Solomon day was truly nothing new that was brought to him from foreign lands, though many people traveled to distant places to see King Solomon's wisdom.

Today our world computer technolgy allows one to see most of the world if nothing beyond a picture or a film. The world that is our small space got inlarged by computer screen. Then one day a person wakes up to realize how small the world is. How truly unchanging it is. Yes there new ideas but created new from old ideas.

I made a cake the other day omitting eggs and butter instead using bananas as a replacement. Is that idea foreign to you. I guarantee some one else has done it. All I have do is put it in a search engine and see over fifty or more people have tried it I suspect. Go other place from videos to images you will find if they thought it video world will make a image for it.

The stores have gone mad with warehousing and shipping like never before. I personally still like shopping instead of ordering from a screen, but somethings are cheaper ordering. I find the world breaking the backs of those in search of one thing or another. People can not wait seven to ten business days. They need whatever it is this hour. That is the world we live in.

Those that work find ordering online can get the item shipped faster then shopping on a day off. Fill your list of things before you go to bed and it might just be there when you get home from work the next day. Box goes to recyclers or made into something else or saved for shipping out.

Mail ordering and deliveries anywhere in the world can be shipped sealed and delivered by weeks end. If you havent seen it you probably will if nothing but by pure accident. What new to you maybe old to me or to the nearest old person to you. Add a little paint and reshaping and it becomes a new product.

The generation old passes away all things become new to the next generation. The words look what new is only in reality of look what I discovered. The idea old but recreated doesnt mean it is better. Computer maybe the newest universal thing with the ability to interact with people all over the world.

The toy section use to take up the corner of many retail stores now take less space. The reality there is nothing new. It all the same.

Ideas and things get buried only to spring up as if it was new. What value does it have beyond the next generation wants it too.

Where has time gone. King Solomon did not have computers, yet through wealth and great wisdom people came to see him. Long lines perhaps outside the palace for Solomon to greet and meet people from all over the world. Yet all he seen he still can say there is nothing new.

Next time you purchase or see a new item ask yourself is this truly new. Is it something you truly want and need.

God doesnt change himself or his ways. Yet each generation hear's the Gospel in the language they speak by preachers and teachers interpretion of scripture. Yet every generation that believe will have eternal life. Jesus will come if we wait patiently knowing things of faith change not. How God still calls and sends out ministers' to preach the same Old And New Testament scripture today. Jesus will return when we are in the days like Noah.

Dear Heavenly Father though what is thought new maybe old let us remember the days like Noah, is when Christ will return. In Jesus precious name, Amen.

Continual Scripture Study: Luke 17:26-28 KJV
26 And as it was in the days of Noe, so shall it be also in the days of the Son of man.
27 They did eat, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, and the flood came, and destroyed them all.
28 Likewise also as it was in the days of Lot; they did eat, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they builded;
