A Believer's New Life In Christ 4/12/2024
Daily Devotions: by Christina FarrisRomans 7:24-25; 8:1-17 KJV
24 O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death?
25 I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin.
1 There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.
3 For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh:
4 That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
5 For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit.
6 For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.
7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.
8 So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.
9 But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.
10 And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness.
11 But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.
12 Therefore, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh.
13 For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.
14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.
15 For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.
16 The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:
17 And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.
Newness of life for the believer. As a child of God forgiven by God's grace through the cross Christ bore for our sins once and for all, we are not to live by the flesh, our sinful desires but we are to walk by the Spirit. But happens when we sin. Sin in itself is in opposition to God, but if we sin we have an advocator name Jesus. The word of God stands between us and God. Jesus blood covenant took away all sin; past, present and future sin. His sacrifice once and for all would take away all sin for those that believe.
Ever sat thinking how easy it is to become knowledgable about God's word that our very nature since first man was to sin. Yet every soul that believed in Jesus, he give them the right to become his son or his daughter. Our hope resting sololy who Jesus is and who God the Father is. His ability to forgive the believer of him and his Son. Yet even with faith we are required to walk by the Spirit and not our own desires. To Spirit in obedience to word he writes on our hearts and the first word is love. The commandment to Love Lord thy God and to love others as you would yourself.
Our sins as believers in Christ past, future and present has paid for by Christ blood being poured out for you and me. Why sin because our humanity wrestles against the commands of God. Yet we can rest un the law of God that says the believers sin are forgiven. Rest knowing faith made you righteous, your humanity made sinful and by faith in God, his power to defeat all sin is possible.
Dear Heavenly Father, help us to learn walk by your Spirit for without doing so we prove we not your child. In Jesus precious name, Amen

15 Whereof the Holy Ghost also is a witness to us: for after that he had said before,
16 This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them;
17 And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more.
18 Now where remission of these is, there is no more offering for sin.
