A Personal God
9/23/2023

Daily Devotions:
by Christina Farris

Exodus 33:17 KJV
17 And the LORD said unto Moses, I will do this thing also that thou hast spoken: for thou hast found grace in my sight, and I know thee by name.

Short and sweet this morning. Why is it important to know our God is a personal God. He his our Father God who knows our name. My husband always had a nickname he used including hey you. My husband was talking to the dog and was using my name and explaining he need to go pester me, caught me off guard because after 34 years of marriage he used my name. You might need the full understanding of the relationship to get it but needless to say I know for a fact my husband knows my name, whether he uses it or not.

God is a personal God. In life we get lassoed with nicknames, from short forms of our name, to our middle name, or to a name someone just happens to call us, because they may never know sometimes our true identy without someone using it that had only our real identy. God knows our real identy and name. Yet our name is changed when we are given a white stone and know one knows it but who received it.

Who we are is precious to God. That why Jesus lassoed with many names and more not known to us, but God knows all those name he call's his son by. He no doubt has many names for us too. Scripture often implies corporate to the whole body of Christ: From saint, to child of God, joint heirs with Jesus, queens and kings, sons and daughters, and the list goes on. Yet God also knows our personal name and uses it. I might not know you but God knows you and he wants you to know him today by you receiving Jesus is Son as Lord and Savior, because he wants all to be part of his family. He does not want to have to blot us out of his precious book of eternal life because of sin. To receive him click the how to be saved button.

Dear Heavenly Father thank you for knowing our name and when we get saved you give us a new name. In Jesus precious name, Amen.

Continual Scripture Study: Exodus 32:33 KJV
33 And the LORD said unto Moses, Whosoever hath sinned against me, him will I blot out of my book.

Revelation 2:17 KJV
17 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the hidden manna, and will give him a white stone, and in the stone a new name written, which no man knoweth saving he that receiveth it.
