Daily Devotions:
by Christina Farris

Exodus 33:1-17 KJV
1 And the LORD said unto Moses, Depart, and go up hence, thou and the people which thou hast brought up out of the land of Egypt, unto the land which I sware unto Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, saying, Unto thy seed will I give it:
2 And I will send an angel before thee; and I will drive out the Canaanite, the Amorite, and the Hittite, and the Perizzite, the Hivite, and the Jebusite:
3 Unto a land flowing with milk and honey: for I will not go up in the midst of thee; for thou art a stiffnecked people: lest I consume thee in the way.
4 And when the people heard these evil tidings, they mourned: and no man did put on him his ornaments.
5 For the LORD had said unto Moses, Say unto the children of Israel, Ye are a stiffnecked people: I will come up into the midst of thee in a moment, and consume thee: therefore now put off thy ornaments from thee, that I may know what to do unto thee.
6 And the children of Israel stripped themselves of their ornaments by the mount Horeb.
7 And Moses took the tabernacle, and pitched it without the camp, afar off from the camp, and called it the Tabernacle of the congregation. And it came to pass, that every one which sought the LORD went out unto the tabernacle of the congregation, which was without the camp.
8 And it came to pass, when Moses went out unto the tabernacle, that all the people rose up, and stood every man at his tent door, and looked after Moses, until he was gone into the tabernacle.
9 And it came to pass, as Moses entered into the tabernacle, the cloudy pillar descended, and stood at the door of the tabernacle, and the LORD talked with Moses.
10 And all the people saw the cloudy pillar stand at the tabernacle door: and all the people rose up and worshipped, every man in his tent door.
11 And the LORD spake unto Moses face to face, as a man speaketh unto his friend. And he turned again into the camp: but his servant Joshua, the son of Nun, a young man, departed not out of the tabernacle.
12 And Moses said unto the LORD, See, thou sayest unto me, Bring up this people: and thou hast not let me know whom thou wilt send with me. Yet thou hast said, I know thee by name, and thou hast also found grace in my sight.
13 Now therefore, I pray thee, if I have found grace in thy sight, shew me now thy way, that I may know thee, that I may find grace in thy sight: and consider that this nation is thy people.
14 And he said, My presence shall go with thee, and I will give thee rest.
15 And he said unto him, If thy presence go not with me, carry us not up hence.
16 For wherein shall it be known here that I and thy people have found grace in thy sight? is it not in that thou goest with us? so shall we be separated, I and thy people, from all the people that are upon the face of the earth.
17 And the LORD said unto Moses, I will do this thing also that thou hast spoken: for thou hast found grace in my sight, and I know thee by name.

The other day I seen a for hire sign. On the for hire sign it had two things that caught my attention. If you want to work for me do not be a person that cares more about there cell phone or a person that when I ask you to do something you roll your eyes. The list of things went on. So I sent a private message if they had any short hours and have not heard back. However I can not promise I won't roll my eyes, but unless its life and death issue my cell phone would be off during working hours. I dont know if I will apply for the job but my candidancy has a small chance do to my eyes. Yet one never knows. There is a point did the employee know his trangression to the employer maybe not. If he walked in without rolling his eyes would he take him back if he turned off his phone. There is a point to this there is no sign of repentance without change. Some change is deeper then the human eye can see. That''s where the first change must start. There must be inner remorse for sin or those eyes will roll. The point being if there is heart change outwardly change will manifest in obedience.

The hardest part of repentance is submission to the one your repenting too. A child only changes there response when they understand the effect it causes a person or knowledge of the harm there actions causes and they have a desire to not cause harm. A parent can shame a child to much that they are either to caustious or they rebel and do the opposite of what is desired.

God does something he required Israel to sacrifice their jewrlry and to put on the act of humility required for forgiveness. Jewelry gone and attire not fit for a dinner out or in. Appearance of being garabage or unworthy to be before God's sovereign grace. God receives their humbleness as repentance and a promise to obey him and is commandments. God's promise to continue to go before Israel.

God expects change of heart and action. God has already promised not to forsake his people. Yet without obedience comes his wrath on them. We as believers in Christ are his children but if we sin we will be corrected. Yet all is covered by the blood of Jesus that believe in Jesus. Our covering is for our eternity. The covering does not come without correction.

My husband tells a story of his father was a man that defended his children when they got in trouble in school, even if guilty. However you did not want to go home with dad, because if you done it you were going be in bigger trouble when you got there. Well we not in trouble when we get to heaven, but we are in trouble with God while we are here on earth.

Repentance is anothe curicullum in scripture.To repent means to turn away. If we truly are repented we need to change action or attitude, maybe both. I sorry does not cut with God. Change must come by his power of love through the cross of Jesus.

Dear Heavenly Father, forgive us and enable us ro walk the straight and narrow pathway and not to be children of disobedience. In Jesus precious name, Amen.

Continual Scripture Study: Romans 2:5-10 KJV
5 But after thy hardness and impenitent heart treasurest up unto thyself wrath against the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God;
6 Who will render to every man according to his deeds:
7 To them who by patient continuance in well doing seek for glory and honour and immortality, eternal life:
8 But unto them that are contentious, and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness, indignation and wrath,
9 Tribulation and anguish, upon every soul of man that doeth evil, of the Jew first, and also of the Gentile;
10 But glory, honour, and peace, to every man that worketh good, to the Jew first, and also to the Gentile:
