Sin Against God 9/21/2023
Daily Devotions: by Christina FarrisExodus 32:33-35 KJV
33 And the LORD said unto Moses, Whosoever hath sinned against me, him will I blot out of my book.
34 Therefore now go, lead the people unto the place of which I have spoken unto thee: behold, mine Angel shall go before thee: nevertheless in the day when I visit I will visit their sin upon them.
35 And the LORD plagued the people, because they made the calf, which Aaron made.
The struggle man has with God is still today for the world of sin of unbelief and belief to those that refuse Jesus as being their salvation. Moses sent human judgment on the people and then God sent his judgment. The making of the molten calf was the sin. Moses killed all the men that went against his leadership that refuse to be on the Lord side. Technically how many Israrlites died in chapter 32 of Exodus no one knows, but the tribe of Levi stood with Moses lived. The other Israelites men were killed. God judgment on the people was a plague. It did not say sickness unto death.
Chapter 32 of Exodus always makes me mad when I think how many people were slained out of total of eleven out of twelve tribes tribes of Israel? Women were not counted or their children. Then I work through the process of the sin. Who was the sin against? Answer being God and the leadership of Israel. Man correction more severe then God not exactly. No way of knowing how many died with the plague.
Can we caterogize our sin of who we sinned against whether it is of God, our fellowman or both. It is essential not only in faith but our relationship with our fellowman. All is correctible by God. And man will try and correct faith in another and can not. One can educate about faith but can not make man learn or believe anything he/she does not agree with. Israel men except the tribe of levi were willing to die for the molten calf. they did not repentance. Moses maybe showed more mercy how these men died by the sword then God did sending a plague but was it sickness unto death? Scripture does not say, but I suspect they allowed them to suffer.
The power of God to destory man for sin is real. Yet his mercy is great. Many in our land bow to idols. We claim our nation of one God, we claim christianity is our faith, and though it still true today other religions rise in our land and this angers God. That why it important tobtake a stand for God with other believers and be a witness for Jesus.
God choice to punish children of disobedience, but he also demonstrate his unity with Moses as Moses repented upon seeing the people son against God. God response to Moses was more of your one of them judge them not by actions, you can not see the heart. He sees all things.
Sin gets man cast out of God's sight. Sin can be covered because of his love for man, that believe in him. Our second salvation his word, his third salvation his mercy and not least but is first salvation is because of his love for man. His love and salvation plan came by the will of God by Christ Jesus.
Blessed hope that does not keep us from being corrected by God but keeps us from being seperated from him if we will believe in Jesus. The Old Covenant being the same as new regarding faith.
Curriculum study is the consequences of sin, and God's mercy and judgment. Dear Heavenly Father thank you for your correction, your mercy, your word and your redeeming love. In Jesus Precious name, Amen. Continual Scripture Study: Isaiah 59:1-21 KJV
1 Behold, the LORD'S hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear:
2 But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear.
3 For your hands are defiled with blood, and your fingers with iniquity; your lips have spoken lies, your tongue hath muttered perverseness.
4 None calleth for justice, nor any pleadeth for truth: they trust in vanity, and speak lies; they conceive mischief, and bring forth iniquity.
5 They hatch cockatrice' eggs, and weave the spider's web: he that eateth of their eggs dieth, and that which is crushed breaketh out into a viper.
6 Their webs shall not become garments, neither shall they cover themselves with their works: their works are works of iniquity, and the act of violence is in their hands.
7 Their feet run to evil, and they make haste to shed innocent blood: their thoughts are thoughts of iniquity; wasting and destruction are in their paths.
8 The way of peace they know not; and there is no judgment in their goings: they have made them crooked paths: whosoever goeth therein shall not know peace.
9 Therefore is judgment far from us, neither doth justice overtake us: we wait for light, but behold obscurity; for brightness, but we walk in darkness.
10 We grope for the wall like the blind, and we grope as if we had no eyes: we stumble at noonday as in the night; we are in desolate places as dead men.
11 We roar all like bears, and mourn sore like doves: we look for judgment, but there is none; for salvation, but it is far off from us.
12 For our transgressions are multiplied before thee, and our sins testify against us: for our transgressions are with us; and as for our iniquities, we know them;
13 In transgressing and lying against the LORD, and departing away from our God, speaking oppression and revolt, conceiving and uttering from the heart words of falsehood.
14 And judgment is turned away backward, and justice standeth afar off: for truth is fallen in the street, and equity cannot enter.
15 Yea, truth faileth; and he that departeth from evil maketh himself a prey: and the LORD saw it, and it displeased him that there was no judgment.
16 And he saw that there was no man, and wondered that there was no intercessor: therefore his arm brought salvation unto him; and his righteousness, it sustained him.
17 For he put on righteousness as a breastplate, and an helmet of salvation upon his head; and he put on the garments of vengeance for clothing, and was clad with zeal as a cloke.
18 According to their deeds, accordingly he will repay, fury to his adversaries, recompence to his enemies; to the islands he will repay recompence.
19 So shall they fear the name of the LORD from the west, and his glory from the rising of the sun. When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the LORD shall lift up a standard against him.
20 And the Redeemer shall come to Zion, and unto them that turn from transgression in Jacob, saith the LORD. 21 As for me, this is my covenant with them, saith the LORD; My spirit that is upon thee, and my words which I have put in thy mouth, shall not depart out of thy mouth, nor out of the mouth of thy seed, nor out of the mouth of thy seed's seed, saith the LORD, from henceforth and for ever. http://www.turtle30cshell.com
