James Brother's Letter 10/28/2023
Daily Devotions: by Christina FarrisJude 1:1-25 KJV
1 Jude, the servant of Jesus Christ, and brother of James, to them that are sanctified by God the Father, and preserved in Jesus Christ, and called:
2 Mercy unto you, and peace, and love, be multiplied.
3 Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints.
4 For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ.
5 I will therefore put you in remembrance, though ye once knew this, how that the Lord, having saved the people out of the land of Egypt, afterward destroyed them that believed not.
6 And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day.
7 Even as Sodom and Gomorrha, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire.
8 Likewise also these filthy dreamers defile the flesh, despise dominion, and speak evil of dignities.
9 Yet Michael the archangel, when contending with the devil he disputed about the body of Moses, durst not bring against him a railing accusation, but said, The Lord rebuke thee.
10 But these speak evil of those things which they know not: but what they know naturally, as brute beasts, in those things they corrupt themselves.
11 Woe unto them! for they have gone in the way of Cain, and ran greedily after the error of Balaam for reward, and perished in the gainsaying of Core.
12 These are spots in your feasts of charity, when they feast with you, feeding themselves without fear: clouds they are without water, carried about of winds; trees whose fruit withereth, without fruit, twice dead, plucked up by the roots;
13 Raging waves of the sea, foaming out their own shame; wandering stars, to whom is reserved the blackness of darkness for ever.
14 And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied of these, saying, Behold, the Lord cometh with ten thousands of his saints,
15 To execute judgment upon all, and to convince all that are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have ungodly committed, and of all their hard speeches which ungodly sinners have spoken against him.
16 These are murmurers, complainers, walking after their own lusts; and their mouth speaketh great swelling words, having men's persons in admiration because of advantage.
17 But, beloved, remember ye the words which were spoken before of the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ;
18 How that they told you there should be mockers in the last time, who should walk after their own ungodly lusts.
19 These be they who separate themselves, sensual, having not the Spirit.
20 But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost,
21 Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.
22 And of some have compassion, making a difference:
23 And others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire; hating even the garment spotted by the flesh.
24 Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy,
25 To the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever. Amen.Book of Jude is written by the brother of James who wrote James. Who was son of Alphaeus, an both being apostles. Sanctified by God the Father and preserved by Jesus. These to distinctions between Father and Son are not often made. Is this divine distinction or something only expressed here in, Jude, made as being separate roles of the Trinity, thus not being equal. When we examine the role and purpose of Christ's coming to demonstrate God's Word in the flesh, it is where we see the covering of the believers by the blood sacrifice coming to live through God's only begotten Son Jesus and declared as our Savior(preserver). God always being our corrector/sanctifer by his word throughout scripture and our perserver through his word given to instruct us in obedience to him. Thus no longer dividing but uniting the two.
Is this theology not really, it putting things into perspective if you believe the Godhead to being equal without division. Was Jude there in this understanding of Christ? Question would be better to ask when presenting the Gosple would be easier to leave the depth of doctrine out as James did though he be writing the believers of faith and speaking againat evildoers that have creeped into the church to destroy it. The answer for me and other scholars is yes.
There are money hungry prosperity enrich doctrines that inflitrate the church world. God saved his people out of bondage of Egypt to destroy those that did not believe both before and after their deliverance. And the believers though provided by God in the desert went into land of prosperity for the tribe of Israel. We as believers are right now walking in the wilderness journeying to the promise land having gone through on dry between the the divides of Red sea(through the precious blood of Jesus). We are the people of faith not the ones walking in unbelief waiting for signs already provided for the saving of our soul. Warning being watch out for those desiring the sensual things of the flesh and not the spiritual things of the soul.
Is it hard to wait on God's salvation? Wait on his timing. Who suffered as Israel waited for Pharaoh to release them. The devil tries to get a hold on the believer but we are already deliver from the day of salvation. God's saving grace for eternity is worth waiting for. As Mary and Martha waited for Jesus to come appromixately a mile away Lazarus died. Mary wanted to know why he did not come sooner. On the Fourth day from his death, up from the grave Lazarus arose. And Jesus showed them the resurrection was real once more in Bethany, his own resurrection to come would only proved man must suffer many things at the hand of evil doers, but hope remains that it worth what God has in store for them that are faithful a home away from here(Lazarus story in John 11). Our eternity resting in our final deliverance from our earthly suffering. Our hope rest in Jesus and those that live in greed and lust have no hope in eternity. They need Jesus too.
Once your saved just hang on for the earthly until it time to rise and met him in the sky. Have compassion for others that lost there way. Helping and pulling them from the fires of hell saving them from the eternal hell.
Dear Heavenly Father your grace is sufficent for our needs. Help us on this earth to rescue ones in the pit of hell, in Jesus precious name, Amen. Continual Scripture Study: Hebrews 2:9-18 KJV
9 But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man.
10 For it became him, for whom are all things, and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons unto glory, to make the captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings.
11 For both he that sanctifieth and they who are sanctified are all of one: for which cause he is not ashamed to call them brethren,
12 Saying, I will declare thy name unto my brethren, in the midst of the church will I sing praise unto thee.
13 And again, I will put my trust in him. And again, Behold I and the children which God hath given me.
14 Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil;
15 And deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.
16 For verily he took not on him the nature of angels; but he took on him the seed of Abraham.
17 Wherefore in all things it behoved him to be made like unto his brethren, that he might be a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make reconciliation for the sins of the people.
18 For in that he himself hath suffered being tempted, he is able to succour them that are tempted. http://www.turtle30cshell.com
