Holds Our Future 11/29/2023
Daily Devotions: by Christina FarrisJohn 11:1-14 KJV
1 Now a certain man was sick, named Lazarus, of Bethany, the town of Mary and her sister Martha.
2 (It was that Mary which anointed the Lord with ointment, and wiped his feet with her hair, whose brother Lazarus was sick.)
3 Therefore his sisters sent unto him, saying, Lord, behold, he whom thou lovest is sick.
4 When Jesus heard that, he said, This sickness is not unto death, but for the glory of God, that the Son of God might be glorified thereby.
5 Now Jesus loved Martha, and her sister, and Lazarus.
6 When he had heard therefore that he was sick, he abode two days still in the same place where he was.
7 Then after that saith he to his disciples, Let us go into Judaea again.
8 His disciples say unto him, Master, the Jews of late sought to stone thee; and goest thou thither again?
9 Jesus answered, Are there not twelve hours in the day? If any man walk in the day, he stumbleth not, because he seeth the light of this world.
10 But if a man walk in the night, he stumbleth, because there is no light in him.
11 These things said he: and after that he saith unto them, Our friend Lazarus sleepeth; but I go, that I may awake him out of sleep.
12 Then said his disciples, Lord, if he sleep, he shall do well.
13 Howbeit Jesus spake of his death: but they thought that he had spoken of taking of rest in sleep.
14 Then said Jesus unto them plainly, Lazarus is dead.
The other day walking through the house I kicked and stumbled it seem on every dog toy between point A and B in the dark. I now do it in the light it seems at times. However there is a point Jesus is with his disciples and word came Lazarus is sick. He does not leave his location but waits two days. Death and life is part of our living. We wake to news of death, warning of death approaching. If it the elderly we think little of death unless there is a reason or concern about unusual death. Lazarus was sick but Jesus neither speaks healing for his friend or goes immediately to him. Why does he allow him to die? It was to glorify the Lord when Lazarus is raised up out of the tomb four days. The journey was not long but four days to pass the runner was delayed because he only knew of Lazarus being sick. No one told him Lazarus was dead but he knew before he seen Mary he was dead.
Did he know prior only because of who he is. He told the disciples because of their humanity and they knew not, but it would be a testimony of Jesus' knowledge to his disciples of what he knows of the future.
If you are a believer of faith God is able to speak of things not known til time of announcement of confirmation. We see is evidence through not only prophesy of past but future as well. If we study Jesus ministry the prophetic of future is not as clear in other passages of Christ ministry as it is in this passage. Only the journey of faith in Christ and God is one lesson only the Holy Spirit can teach you about when it comes to future prophesy or things to come in your own journey.
The other day and even time pass I experienced prophesy but I even doubt God being the source. Then I came across this passage I read it and spoke of Jesus prophesying to the disciples even in death. Until one experience in their own walk of faith Christ preparation for things to come you have to trust someone else prophesy is true or you can allow God to teach you by his Spirit about prophesy. Learn to trust Jesus, rely on no human prophesy as being a prophetic source.of God, for God has the ability to speak to all people. God by his Spirit speaks his business to his people. Jesus holds our future even on earth not just heaven so follow him.
Dear Heavenly Father Thank you for the truth of your Spirit speaking to our heart, because Lord you hold our future. In Jesus precious name, Amen.

14 Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you.
15 Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not what his lord doeth: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you. http://www.turtle30cshell.com
