Day 10 of Our Thanksgiving Countdown 11/10/2023
Daily Devotions: by Christina FarrisPsalm 26:1-12 KJV
1 A Psalm of David. Judge me, O LORD; for I have walked in mine integrity: I have trusted also in the LORD; therefore I shall not slide.
2 Examine me, O LORD, and prove me; try my reins and my heart.
3 For thy lovingkindness is before mine eyes: and I have walked in thy truth.
4 I have not sat with vain persons, neither will I go in with dissemblers.
5 I have hated the congregation of evil doers; and will not sit with the wicked.
6 I will wash mine hands in innocency: so will I compass thine altar, O LORD:
7 That I may publish with the voice of thanksgiving, and tell of all thy wondrous works.
8 LORD, I have loved the habitation of thy house, and the place where thine honour dwelleth.
9 Gather not my soul with sinners, nor my life with bloody men:
10 In whose hands is mischief, and their right hand is full of bribes.
11 But as for me, I will walk in mine integrity: redeem me, and be merciful unto me.
12 My foot standeth in an even place: in the congregations will I bless the LORD.
Be careful what you ask of God, man and of yourself. David asked of God to examine and to approve him. He was a king that would ask God to test in his integrity. Integrity in our world is worth something until the devil finds fault in that integrity. Faith in God is not measured by our integrity but is based on God's unconditional love on man. David trust in the truth of God's word.
David goes on to lift himself up has being obedient to God. How many people in and outside the church world have this mindset of according to God's laws I done nothing wrong, not in comparison to someone else.
David's righteous integrity speaks he is a child of God, no it speaks of his love for his God. His praise of thanksgiving speaks the praises of his God and publishes God's wonderous works.
We continue reading David knows it not his integrity but God who redeems him. He ask for God's mercy. David exalt his worthiness and still feels the need for mercy and redemption. He strive to walk evenly before the Lord.
We can love God but wirhout his redeeming grace, his redemption plan first through his word then his word in the flesh and word by His Spirit we would have no eternal hope.
People that say those people think they are better then them, better think again. David even seen his need of God's mercy despite he was living a godly life style. Christian understand there unworthiness to approach God's throne, the approach God's throne in the need of salvation from their sinfulness whether seen or unseen.
When David says he tell of God's wonderous works, salvation and mercy is on top of his list. His integrity he hope will should those around him will speak the things of faith in his God.
Dear Heavenly Father may our integrity speak the things of God and your wonderous ability to transform man. In Jesus precious name, Amen. Thanksgiving Countdown Thankful list Week 2: 8. Christ being our High Priest. 9. For love 10. Wondrous work of God's Mercy and Reedemption Continual Scripture Study: Romans 12:2-3 KJV
2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
3 For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith. http://www.turtle30cshell.com
