Day 7 of Our Thanksgiving Countdown 11/07/2023
Daily Devotions: by Christina FarrisRomans 1:1-9 KJV
1 Paul, a servant of Jesus Christ, called to be an apostle, separated unto the gospel of God,
2 (Which he had promised afore by his prophets in the holy scriptures,)
3 Concerning his Son Jesus Christ our Lord, which was made of the seed of David according to the flesh;
4 And declared to be the Son of God with power, according to the spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead:
5 By whom we have received grace and apostleship, for obedience to the faith among all nations, for his name:
6 Among whom are ye also the called of Jesus Christ:
7 To all that be in Rome, beloved of God, called to be saints: Grace to you and peace from God our Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ.
8 First, I thank my God through Jesus Christ for you all, that your faith is spoken of throughout the whole world.
9 For God is my witness, whom I serve with my spirit in the gospel of his Son, that without ceasing I make mention of you always in my prayers;
Separation of people began since time of Cain but Cain family line did not survive the flood with many others that did not have faith as Noah and his family did. In fact his family can be traced to Adam and Eve third son Seth who was the first to begin to call on God after his son was born(end of chapter Genesis 4). Though Noah family and each generation and people after had to make their own decision to worship God, there were those that refused to believe. Time came for the word and prophesy to increase in understanding before the exile. The exile and Christ being important to come during captivity but after the return to Israel and the reestablishment of the Temple in Jerusalem and to be born through the tribe of David. Though Christ's be born into a Jewish family he would be the Savior of the world and draw all people to himself. Drawing people to faith in him from all over.
When Paul writes Roman church he speaking to the Romans that been elect to find Christ's salvation, yet all are welcome to know Jesus. Most prostyleting people to Christ and to the Jews God Jehovah. Christianity is offspring and virgin birth from Judaism, yet the only way it is Jewish is by origin of faith in God. The Old Covenant being before Christ and the New Covenant being after Christ making a way for all to believe. Prehaps the difficulty in uniting these groups has to do with the laws and modest approach to outward attire. Yet if you are in a society that is almost naked do to weather, do you either adjust or become like the heathens. Culture stereo typing can be based on practice of beliefs down to dress attire or choice when outside the faith culture ans inside the culture. Dress can allow people to approach or cause people to stay away from you if they know the general meaning. It is like tatooes tend to keep some society push back or away, and allow others to approach. At one time all nuns wore tradional habits, old Christian women never wore pants and God forbid shorts, girls wore skirts that were below the knee or longer.
There people that work hard at being separate while other hold to faith only inwardly with an outward smile and chariety. The separation of Jews from Christ become as legalism is to even dress codes of strict religious culture. The display of purity being only outwardly. Unacceptance of Christ reaching far and wide from the Jews first and in the book of Romans' the Gentile nation. Christ's coming between the two groups and uniting them in faith to one God and one Lord principal because there is only one faith, one baptism and one Spirit. If Christ be understood to be more then man in the flesh, but the word of prophesy being the Alpha and Omega the first and the last, the word that has come will come and will be.
Obedience to faith speaking who we are and who we worship being God. Paul preached in many of the known Roman world Christ because Jesus spoke to him on the road to Damacus, but like Christ he spoke about God both from the Old covenant law to simple purity of faith under the New covenant that did away with the sacrifice laws of killing animals with Christ becoming our sacrifice with no more sacrifice for sin. Yet we are still corrected by God's Spirit for sin.
Jesus' parents still practice Jewish culture until thectime of the resurrection. Yet God love praise and worship more then sacrifice even still today.
Thank the Lord for all believers from all over the world. May they know the prophesy of his Son. The reason we celebrate as believers in Christ, his birthday.
Dear Father may we unite through Christ both Jews and Gentiles. In Jesus precious name Amen. Continual Scripture Study: Luke 2:21-24 KJV 21 And when eight days were accomplished for the circumcising of the child, his name was called JESUS, which was so named of the angel before he was conceived in the womb.
22 And when the days of her purification according to the law of Moses were accomplished, they brought him to Jerusalem, to present him to the Lord;
23 (As it is written in the law of the Lord, Every male that openeth the womb shall be called holy to the Lord;)
24 And to offer a sacrifice according to that which is said in the law of the Lord, A pair of turtledoves, or two young pigeons.
Ephesians 4:1-7 KJV
1 I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you that ye walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called,
2 With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love;
3 Endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.
4 There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling;
5 One Lord, one faith, one baptism,
6 One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.
7 But unto every one of us is given grace according to the measure of the gift of Christ. http://www.turtle30cshell.com
