To Be Blessed By God 5/26/2023
Daily Devotions: by Christina FarrisGenesis 1:20-23 KJV
20 And God said, Let the waters bring forth abundantly the moving creature that hath life, and fowl that may fly above the earth in the open firmament of heaven.
21 And God created great whales, and every living creature that moveth, which the waters brought forth abundantly, after their kind, and every winged fowl after his kind: and God saw that it was good.
22 And God blessed them, saying, Be fruitful, and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let fowl multiply in the earth.
23 And the evening and the morning were the fifth day.
Genesis 1:26-31 KJV
26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.
27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.
28 And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.
29 And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat.
30 And to every beast of the earth, and to every fowl of the air, and to every thing that creepeth upon the earth, wherein there is life, I have given every green herb for meat: and it was so.
31 And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day.
Genesis 12:1-3 KJV
1 Now the LORD had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father's house, unto a land that I will shew thee:
2 And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing:
3 And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.
How many of get caught off guard with scripture. We go in search of one thing and find our curiousity is peeked. God created the fish and the creatures in the water and birds in the air and blesses them, telling them to multiply. He does not seem to bless the beast of the field. Yet he blesses the fish. Somethings God does will never make sense to us humans. We find our dogs to be blessings, our cats to be blessings, and the meat on the table to be a blessing. Many people eat fish and birds. Jesus help the disciples to catch fish, but you do not hear about Jesus eating leg of lamb chops or a grilled steak. God smells the sweet aroma of lamb on the altar and it is a pleasant aroma to God. God sends quail to bless Israel with meat. and yet the raven and the dove go in search of the first life on land after the flood. Dove is a symbol of peace. Raven feed Elijah in 2 Kings. Man is blessed by wing birds and the fish of the sea. Jonah swallowed by a large fish. Jonah protected by God in his storm as he spewed out onto shore by the fish. Fish being a life source of food multiplied in abundance. Today the blessing of the fish population is not as great as it once was. Yet fish multiply. People catch to eat and fry in the frying pan a mess of fish. Jesus feed the multitude not with sheep or steak but with fish.
God blessed man second after he created the beast of the field and all other living creatures. He made man after he made after the beast of the field. God blessed man after creating him in his image in his likeness and seen is creation as good. He gave man dominion of the animals. Then God would bless Noah and his sons and renew the original covenant with Noah that he did with original humankind.
When did God give man meat to eat in Genesis 1 also in Genesis 9. Genesis 9 goes into more detail of the orignal blessing on mankind, and includes the blessing of no more flooding that will cover the face of the earth. Man's first food was green herbs and the fruit the same food that was given to animals. Not until Noah was there meat of animal flesh given to man to eat. I think of the first sacrifice by Abel was a lamb and the fruit of the ground was not a sacrifice to give to God.(Genesis 4). God did not want our food to be sacrificed in the begining? Lamb being sacrificed was precious for man had dominion over the animals of the earth, and they are to be their caretakers. To give up something we raise and nurture is a hard task, but God does it when man fails to yield to him. He throws them in the pit called hell. The Lamb was slaughter and laid on the altar and the fire consumed it. The lamb on the altar never living again. The first man being placed in the garden and kicked out and removed from heaven with the first sin. Placed in a place of living nightmares as well as the blessings of God. Cain would kill his brother and it was sin because of his jealousy. Seeing the one perfect and righteous he became the first human brought to the slaughter. Abel, Cain's brother, blood would cry out to God. Cain's unrighteousness and works not justifying him with the the sacrifice and blood of a righteous man. Yet he marked as not only a sinner but would protect him til death came to him. Cain was no longer worthy to be in the presents of God.
Jesus became our atonement. Jesus was the Lamb of God that was to be slain. The lamb chosen to be slain. The only one man cold be blessed by his sacrifice of his death on the cross. Noah bore the cross of watching and hearing God destroy the earth with flood but he received the blessing of God as he worshipped God and still praised him after what he seen.
I be honest if you ever seen a disaster, destruction even if only through pictures or seeing it even time after the event, you never forgot sights you see. If you been through a time of destruction you never forget the sound it made. Day of Christ death came with sound, the earth was not quiet that day. Man can not destroy the Lamb of God. The word of God is going to keep coming for the word is the Lamb. A season of calm after the storm, it is hurricane season, but God is able to give calm in the season of the storms. He able to give blessings in the middle of after math of the storms of our life. Will we receive God's blessing. Jesus was the blessing after the storm of the cross.
Cain found no blessing in the storm of what he did to his brother, because he repented not. There was no remorse for his action he knew what the death of the lamb on the altar was like so he knew what he was doing when he killed Abel. How many Abel's does it take man to realize that that not the sacrifice God wants. God will gave the only sacrificial Lamb and that was his Word that came in human flesh(Jesus). The only thing man could disobey and with repentance find redeeming grace.
Noah knew he was blessed by the storm as he walked out and seen not only daylight, but the earth was replenishing life upon it by the hand of God. He took a Lamb and sacrificed it to God. Noah praised and worshipped God. How bad was the world before the storm that Noah came out of. For he came out worshipping God. He did not wish he was dead like his neighbor was, but he came out not mourning loss but praising God. God was blessing Noah upon the earth and his sons.
Abraham was called to leave an area that we know had idolatry in it by knowledge of Jacob's journey to the family. However scripture also speaks of Abraham father's being idolators in another place in scripture. God was taking Abraham out of the land of Idolatry and giving him the promise land. Blessing him with a place that would flow with milk and honey. God blessed Abraham and those that blessed Abraham. God curses those who curse Abraham. God blessed Abraham with multiplying. Yet he only had two sons Ishmael and Isaac. Isaac being the son of promise because of the first marriage and not the other woman. Yet both tribes would be blessed.
God blessed first man with mulitplying that is the first blessing of God to be able to multiply for his kingdom. A righteous line must be with God ordination of man and woman. Yet God blesses all of mankind with multiplying because it the first blessing he gave mankind. Out of Abraham's family would come the righteous heir to the throne of God and his name would be Jesus. God using the righteous line of man of faith to demonstrate the righteous calling to demonstrate the righteousness of faith for all believers. The order of righteousness by allowing things to be done God's way and not by the act of sin or trying to make the things of God happen. God's blessings come on children of obedience.
Dear Heavenly Father, help us to be children of obedience and not children of disobedience. Being children worthy to be called your child through first faith in his word and in Christ Jesus. In Jesus precious name, Amen.

12 Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:
13 (For until the law sin was in the world: but sin is not imputed when there is no law.
14 Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over them that had not sinned after the similitude of Adam's transgression, who is the figure of him that was to come.
15 But not as the offence, so also is the free gift. For if through the offence of one many be dead, much more the grace of God, and the gift by grace, which is by one man, Jesus Christ, hath abounded unto many.
16 And not as it was by one that sinned, so is the gift: for the judgment was by one to condemnation, but the free gift is of many offences unto justification.
17 For if by one man's offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.)
18 Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life.
19 For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.
20 Moreover the law entered, that the offence might abound. But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound:
21 That as sin hath reigned unto death, even so might grace reign through righteousness unto eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord.
Genesis 9:1-17 KJV
1 And God blessed Noah and his sons, and said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth.
2 And the fear of you and the dread of you shall be upon every beast of the earth, and upon every fowl of the air, upon all that moveth upon the earth, and upon all the fishes of the sea; into your hand are they delivered.
3 Every moving thing that liveth shall be meat for you; even as the green herb have I given you all things.
4 But flesh with the life thereof, which is the blood thereof, shall ye not eat.
5 And surely your blood of your lives will I require; at the hand of every beast will I require it, and at the hand of man; at the hand of every man's brother will I require the life of man.
6 Whoso sheddeth man's blood, by man shall his blood be shed: for in the image of God made he man.
7 And you, be ye fruitful, and multiply; bring forth abundantly in the earth, and multiply therein.
8 And God spake unto Noah, and to his sons with him, saying,
9 And I, behold, I establish my covenant with you, and with your seed after you;
10 And with every living creature that is with you, of the fowl, of the cattle, and of every beast of the earth with you; from all that go out of the ark, to every beast of the earth.
11 And I will establish my covenant with you; neither shall all flesh be cut off any more by the waters of a flood; neither shall there any more be a flood to destroy the earth.
12 And God said, This is the token of the covenant which I make between me and you and every living creature that is with you, for perpetual generations:
13 I do set my bow in the cloud, and it shall be for a token of a covenant between me and the earth.
14 And it shall come to pass, when I bring a cloud over the earth, that the bow shall be seen in the cloud:
15 And I will remember my covenant, which is between me and you and every living creature of all flesh; and the waters shall no more become a flood to destroy all flesh.
16 And the bow shall be in the cloud; and I will look upon it, that I may remember the everlasting covenant between God and every living creature of all flesh that is upon the earth.
17 And God said unto Noah, This is the token of the covenant, which I have established between me and all flesh that is upon the earth.
