Are You Ready
3/28/2023

Daily Devotions:
by Christina Farris

Matthew 25:1-13 KJV
1 Then shall the kingdom of heaven be likened unto ten virgins, which took their lamps, and went forth to meet the bridegroom.
2 And five of them were wise, and five were foolish.
3 They that were foolish took their lamps, and took no oil with them:
4 But the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps.
5 While the bridegroom tarried, they all slumbered and slept.
6 And at midnight there was a cry made, Behold, the bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet him.
7 Then all those virgins arose, and trimmed their lamps.
8 And the foolish said unto the wise, Give us of your oil; for our lamps are gone out.
9 But the wise answered, saying, Not so; lest there be not enough for us and you: but go ye rather to them that sell, and buy for yourselves.
10 And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage: and the door was shut.
11 Afterward came also the other virgins, saying, Lord, Lord, open to us.
12 But he answered and said, Verily I say unto you, I know you not.
13 Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh.

Are you ready? Some denominations believed once you are saved you are saved, but there are passages of scripture with swift warning about one's salvation and the true readiness of the believer to meet their Savior or in this passage the bridegroom of faith. Can one that believes once saved always saved be asleep in their faith? The answer is there is warning the answer is no. Each person has to examine their own life with the help of God's Spirit to know if they are like the five virgins who lamp is prepared for his coming. The way to be proper prepared for Christ coming is preparation through the classroom of faith by the Holy Spirit and the Word of God which is Christ Jesus as well as acknowledgement in Jesus coming in the flesh and understanding of his departure after the resurrection into glory in the transformation of his body that occurred with the resurrection. His body being no more corruptible. To believe Christ came in human flesh and was transformed means we too will be transformed into his likeness on the day of homecoming. It is a part of the prepartion of faith to understand what will happened to our earthly design becoming incorruptible. That are virginity is of our entire body of flesh body being changed into the likeness of God's Son in the heavenly everafter.

I can get to caught up in discussing our virginity into everlasting life that I miss some other things. The five virgins are unprepared because they did not take up their lessons of the Holy Spirit. The other day my husband had to go somewhere i kept telling him he should go in the morning and not the afternoon. I decided someone was praying we come early, however the man was gone already that need to be their for the appointment. He had come and gone from his work place, but if I had been two hours earlier it would of been okay. It is the preparation of being ready not knowing the hour of his coming or his departure from the earth as we know it. It being ready for his coming and the knowing it is the time of God's destruction to come. That the bride of the church is no longer on the earth for the final destruction is important to our readiness of the rapture of believers in Christ.

Not only is this important, but in truth the ones not prepared will be trying to gather what they need for his coming when they hear the sounds of the trumpet of his coming, and will find the information, but no door open to them. It like finding a road map, but no car, or plane to get to the location. No open door to the gates of heaven. If you can reach the door of eternity, it is still unable to open to your pounding. Have you ever stood at a door and pounded because of a storm, and the person was delayed in opening to you and you were all wet. I sure most people have had experience of a shut door in a storm even if it was in childhood. Yet by being unprepared and then getting ready the door will not be open and you still be outside enduring the wrath of God for a time and then facing your own demise in the storm that never ends.

By being ready to meet Jesus, by receiving him first as Savior and Lord, and continuing on in faith and not just in the church realm but outside in your daily life. Taking up the cross of following Jesus in a daily walk with him. To walk by the Spirit to learn to obey him, to read his word and to seek him in times of trouble and to praise him in time of joy. To learn to trust in Jesus in time of peace and safety as well and not one's own understanding.

Dear Heavenly Father help us to be as believers intuned to your Son's return, so intuned that even with any delays of his return, you are fully with us walking with us in heart and minds. Knowing our bridegroom is coming to take us home. In Jesus precious name, Amen.

Continual Scripture Study: 1 Corinthians 15:50-58 KJV
50 Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption.
51 Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,
52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.
54 So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.
55 O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?
56 The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law.
57 But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
58 Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.

Proverbs 3:5-6 KJV
5 Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.
6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.
