A Heart For God 6/23/2023
Daily Devotions: by Christina FarrisProverbs 3:1-4 KJV
1 My son, forget not my law; but let thine heart keep my commandments:
2 For length of days, and long life, and peace, shall they add to thee.
3 Let not mercy and truth forsake thee: bind them about thy neck; write them upon the table of thine heart:
4 So shalt thou find favour and good understanding in the sight of God and man.
What is our heart, but a place we hide the most sacred things in our life that matter most to us as an individual. It is a place we tuck our true identy and yet it something that can even been hidden from ourselves when we not acting or being the people we should be. It the part that sooner or later will come out and no longer be hidden to others. It the compassion of convict, a compassion of a thief or compassion of someone that appears vile but in truth does not want to be this person they pretend to be. Instead on an occasion of when crime or something bad should of happened, it became something good instead for whatever reason, the heart and the soul of the person pricked to remember perhaps something positive in their life. Compassion came forth instead of wrong. Why no one knows. However I believe it what hidden inside the heart. It maybe that rule that hidden beneath all the evil within that pricked by emotion and seeps out into the openness to heal a wound. Now we may not be a convict but we are convict when sin enters our heart and we allow sin to change the good parts of our humanity into evil. When we change the laws of heart to corruption or mask it with disguise of evil.
When a person commits their ways to God they are allowing God to baptize them by the Holy Spirit. Allowing God to write on the walls of the heart by the Holy Spirit his laws. How does this commitment come by receiving Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, in Old Testament only the word was necessary to receive and have it memorized to heart and obeyed despite what else occurred in one's life. It was essential to faith. If they broke the law the people of faith would make sacrifices for sin. to cleanse their heart and mind. The conviction in faith always there's concerning sin. They were not to forget thy laws and one would have long life and lengthen days, and peace shall be added would be add to them. To write and to bind them to the heart, one would be in good standing with God and man. To obey without the need of sacrifice.
If we desire to be good people we must truly ask ourselves how can we be good, if scripture declares no one is good but God and man ways are evil. Something must happen, to change man, Either we change by God's power or our own power allows certain types of changes, those changes that are acceptible to society is man law. Thing acceptible in our hearts must come by faith in Christ Jesus. A spiritual transformation must come by spiritual birth by receiving Jesus Christ as Lord. To the glory of God the Father. That transformation comes because our sins are washed away. Our sins are gone and we are set free.
What does this mean to be set free and yet have laws written on our heart to enable us not to sin against God. No we not enabled to not sin, our sins are covered by Christ atoning blood and we set free to obey the laws of God even when we fail the blood covenant enabling us to be marked by Christ covering through the beating, and the cross, and yet we rise again in newness of life through Christ Jesus. No longer under the yoke of sin, but under the covering and protection of Jesus.
I found my humanity wanting to take control of my inner being as my anger soared over a couple of situations that occurred yesterday, and I found myself bitting my tongue so to speak, not literally in the physical sense of the word bitting my tongue, but more of hold on what I really wanted to say or what I really was thinking. I thought to myself can I really be this polite today. Only if necessary. How many have moment like this. How many really want to fume and rant at times and do not. Is God pricking your heart not to sin.
If God after salvation even after many years still talking to your heart about sin, Praise the Lord. If we were under Old Testament law sin would have to be repeatly reconcilled by sacrifice, but with Christ sacrifice our sins are covered for eternity. However God's correction remains with his children through correction through his word and his commandments writen on the table and wall in our hearts. That same table Christ dines with our soul in our heart to teach us God's ways. Are You going to obey God or do you hope that some recease of your heart will be prick to allow compassion to come through in the darkness of life, that darkness of not turning one's life over to God and allowing God will to be invoked into your life and heart. That darkness that only rebellion against one's own Creator seems to exist. That darkness that has no light in the darkness but inmimation love that not of God. Let God plant love in your heart. It is unconditional type of love. A love that is there even when we ourselves mess up. That same love that was poured out as Christ hung on the cross and when he arose again as well. That same love that serve the disciples after the cross for forty more days until his departure into heaven. Holy Spirit brought back the word not in the flesh but through prophesy by God's Spirit. The word most precious whether in flesh/incorruptible flesh(Jesus) or by the Spirit. God's word spoken from the Heavenlies on the day of Jesus baptism. In the wilderness as the very law was given and read. People were in fear of God's voice. Samuel heard God's voice and heard the words of judgment on Eli sons and Eli as well. Samuel was young but he knew God's wrath by seeing it first hand as a boy who grew into a prophetic calling on his life.
Are you willing to follow God's word both in the form of Christ and by the words of prophesy by the Spirit of God. These things we must do by faith and belief as born again believers. I can preach all day, but unless someone hears God's word and believes and receives it has no value to anyone but the one speaking it. We can not use our salvation as a get of out of hell free card. We got to use it has a testimony of the light of faith to the world. We can save no one, but the light of Christ in us can. They see God's word in our life by our actions and by our word lives are going to want change.
Dear Heavenly help us to desire your word, your commandments, your prophesy and your testimony of our faith. To have those things remember as believers in our hearts, to help us hold to your truth. In Jesus precious name, Amen.

15 Whereof the Holy Ghost also is a witness to us: for after that he had said before,
16 This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them;
17 And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more.
18 Now where remission of these is, there is no more offering for sin. 19 Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus,
20 By a new and living way, which he hath consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to say, his flesh;
21 And having an high priest over the house of God;
22 Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water.
23 Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;)
