Christ Our Go Between

Daily Devotions:
by Christina Farris

Hebrews 9:1-28 KJV
1 Then verily the first covenant had also ordinances of divine service, and a worldly sanctuary.
2 For there was a tabernacle made; the first, wherein was the candlestick, and the table, and the shewbread; which is called the sanctuary.
3 And after the second veil, the tabernacle which is called the Holiest of all;
4 Which had the golden censer, and the ark of the covenant overlaid round about with gold, wherein was the golden pot that had manna, and Aaron's rod that budded, and the tables of the covenant;
5 And over it the cherubims of glory shadowing the mercyseat; of which we cannot now speak particularly.
6 Now when these things were thus ordained, the priests went always into the first tabernacle, accomplishing the service of God.
7 But into the second went the high priest alone once every year, not without blood, which he offered for himself, and for the errors of the people:
8 The Holy Ghost this signifying, that the way into the holiest of all was not yet made manifest, while as the first tabernacle was yet standing:
9 Which was a figure for the time then present, in which were offered both gifts and sacrifices, that could not make him that did the service perfect, as pertaining to the conscience;
10 Which stood only in meats and drinks, and divers washings, and carnal ordinances, imposed on them until the time of reformation.
11 But Christ being come an high priest of good things to come, by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this building;
12 Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us.
13 For if the blood of bulls and of goats, and the ashes of an heifer sprinkling the unclean, sanctifieth to the purifying of the flesh:
14 How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?
15 And for this cause he is the mediator of the new testament, that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first testament, they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance.
16 For where a testament is, there must also of necessity be the death of the testator.
17 For a testament is of force after men are dead: otherwise it is of no strength at all while the testator liveth.
18 Whereupon neither the first testament was dedicated without blood.
19 For when Moses had spoken every precept to all the people according to the law, he took the blood of calves and of goats, with water, and scarlet wool, and hyssop, and sprinkled both the book, and all the people,
20 Saying, This is the blood of the testament which God hath enjoined unto you.
21 Moreover he sprinkled with blood both the tabernacle, and all the vessels of the ministry.
22 And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission.
23 It was therefore necessary that the patterns of things in the heavens should be purified with these; but the heavenly things themselves with better sacrifices than these.
24 For Christ is not entered into the holy places made with hands, which are the figures of the true; but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us:
25 Nor yet that he should offer himself often, as the high priest entereth into the holy place every year with blood of others;
26 For then must he often have suffered since the foundation of the world: but now once in the end of the world hath he appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself.
27 And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:
28 So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation.

The sanctuary and the Holies of all. Holies all having the ark, jar manna, Aaron staff and so forth. Then we have the sanctuary were the shew bread on the table with the candle sticks. Only the Jewish people could enter the sanctuary, and the gentiles had another sanctuary in which they went into. One had to spend ten generation as a gentile in the gentile sanctuary even after conversion. Meaning your family had to know their faith before being allowed to enter in. The purity of faith was essential in the enter courts of the sanctuary. It was set rules for set things. Yet all these things spoke of things yet to come. The book of Hebrews is a hard book to read but is a good book to read when studying some of the sacrificial laws of the Old Testament to explain how Christ changed all these things to no longer be necessary symbolically. The laws of sacrifice speaking of what was yet to come for the Jewish people until Christ came and died on the cross for everyone's sins.

To understand Christ was holy, though to man he had sin and deserved the cross. As I watch the news many years ago when abortion clinics were everyday in our news. A man pulled a gun and shot up an abortion clinic and killed. Has much as I am against abortion, I was angry because the man claimed to do in the name of God. Let me be clear there other ways to fight and one ways is not with ammunition. In our land we can fight through the courts, outside courts without ever drawing weapons of warfare. I was probably in Middle School, maybe a little older when it occurred. Most Americans know that the court system can take years, but one shooting solves nothing. And in truth more babies have been killed since that time. When Row vs Wade was said to be illegal, I had to ask now what going to happen with Democrates in office. One thing that is happening, it is there way of the government washing there hands of it, by allowing choice, but also providing both abortion clinics and the plan parenthood, and helping women keep their babies by providing aid and assistance. Placing in the matter between doctor and patient, failing to meet the need of education women to be responsible and respectful of their own bodies. Christ went to the cross he did so without guns and ammunition but he shot many of us to the heart core that believed in God. To understand first we nailed him to the cross through time of unbelief, we also respond with repentance of unbelief. We kneel to our own brokeness of obeying God, that our obedience caused Christ suffering with the blood to be reapplied over and over. Yet there is no more sacrifice for sin through Christ Jesus.

When we do something for God, what we do must be for his glory and honor not for our shame or seeking vengeous of eye for eye and tooth for a tooth. Though sometimes it might sound better to do so, it is not. We must find a better solution then blood shed, because sacrificing of human life solves nothing but death of someone precious to someone, if only that one person is precious to God. As Cain killed Abel, his blood cried out to God. God heard his blood cry out.

How many goats, lambs, rams and bulls had to be sacrificed on the altar with God hearing their blood poured out for you and me. Most remember God established the sacrificial laws. it was act that demonstrated what Christ would do for us when he came. Moses took that blood from the sin offering and once a year sprinkled the people the scroll, the altar, and himself. The blood symbolizing the unity or the connection to the altar of faith in God. Christ own blood being the sprinkled through the beating and the cross poured out and covered our sin that we laid at the cross when we repent. How many carried our burdens to the point the the pile should of broken through the blood and reach the gates of heaven, but instead it continues to cover the burdens of our sin. Christ cross standing between us and God. That purging of our sin coming not yearly but a lifetime sometimes even daily. Christ being the new testament to come, the new covenant forgiveness and a better promise and hope called eternity. Faith only being able to be tested here in the earthly realm because to be spiritually absent from our bodies we will know we are with God if we believe in Jesus.

The sacrifice from year to year symbolizing what Christ one sacrifice provide by God would do for eternity if man would believe and repent of sin. God shoots he shoots one time and it is enough. When man shoots they need a machine gun and it still not enough to purge the sin of the world. Women for decades and years have sacrificed unborn babies for a better life, never knowing whether they sacrificed the next president, great scientist, or historian. They have killed without just cause. To keep the law of protection on the unborn means the government must control a woman's health. What is our responsibility to teach what every child is a blessing from God and every women's health is important to God. God stop the blood flow of the woman who had been bleeding for many years. Her blood flow once always bring hope for either another chance to be pregnant or there was no pregancy which was its own salvation, to now bring death to her if it did not stop. Christ brought healing to her. All she did was touch the hem of his garment and he told her, that her faith healed her.

When we see the blood flow of Christ covering our sin and his blood like the blood of the yearly sacrifice given by Mose was the bridge to God it is still our faith that heals us from all our sin. Yet it the work of Christ on the cross that convicts and saves us from our sin. The work of the cross changing our soul convicting us of our sin. No shooting ever convicted anyone of sin. No mass shooting ever stop people from life of corruption, only angered and upset them. Punishing someone else for your anger is wrong as well. It does not solve one's problem, it only makes it worse.

What Christ cross did beside heal from sin, it gave a person a new beginning, a transformation of the heart from the desire of sin to conformity to a life of desiring to please God over man. No shooter ever pleased God. When I think of battles in scripture where enemy was defeat without weapons, I wonder why God did not fight more battles this way. Then I realize he did with the cross. As people desire Jesus, and his way, then the battle of warfare is not needed. The battle of compassion wins. When we give our heart to Jesus, God begins to mold us into people that are not bother by the things of this world, but care about the people of the world. To teach them about hope and not destruction. When soldiers are preforming humanitarian aid they rather be doing this type of work then fighting and killing people they know not. It is the gift of handing out food, seeing a smile on a child's face that means the world to them.

When a minister comes preaching it with his Bible, The sword of God, the word of God and by the Holy Spirit. It is without ammunition of metal but ammunition of Word and the Spirit of God. God came with the only bullet he need was Jesus. The bullet to say I came in peace, and you wanted war, you wanted a king, and reality you wanted the peace the minute Jesus went to protect his Father's house in Jerusalem.

How true it is that no one wants metal bullets to pentrate the heart only want Jesus to penetrate the hearts of all souls everywhere. Yet it must be preached, so no one sacrifices anymore lambs, goats, bulls and so forth that get in the way because of legalism of faith, because it has been removed by Christ death on the crossso faith becomes more about circumcision God is going to do to our hearts of man by cutting the evil out of one's life. We all experience hate at times and anger. Yet as a child of God it can not remain, love has to take control at some point. No one can force the love of God on anyone, that is a free choice. People can feel brainwashed by to much scripture and not enough expression of faith through working together in harmony to complete a task for God in the form of compassion.

To learn to love like God and not by tradition of sacrifice of animals but undestanding they were symbolic to the sacrifice of Christ tor you and me. This gift of Christ/word given to man and go between by God. His word triumphing over the enemy, his word healing, and bring forth creation worthy of who he is because it will be his handiwork in our life. If someone sews you a new outfit and it fits perfectly and looks great, the hem is right and alteration perfected, then it makes you look good no matter how you feel or look physically. It covers all the bad parts and compliments one figure. God word does that to our soul. Christ being the word of God coming forth in likeness of man, Demonstratingt he sacrificial law for sin. has he molds us we begin to glorify God for the changes he does in our life.

Dear Heavenly Father, as we embrace the sacrifice of your Son for the covering of our sin, help us to remember the blood sacrifice from year to year was only symbolic of what Christ would do for us on the cross one time and no more sacrifice for sin would be needed. Mold us into what you desire us with us knowing the cost Christ paid and suffered for each of us. Lord also help our unbelief. In Jesus precious name, Amen.

Continual Scripture Study: Philippians 2:1-17 KJV
1 If there be therefore any consolation in Christ, if any comfort of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any bowels and mercies,
2 Fulfil ye my joy, that ye be likeminded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind.
3 Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves.
4 Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others.
5 Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:
6 Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:
7 But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men:
8 And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.
9 Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name:
10 That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;
11 And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
12 Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.
13 For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.
14 Do all things without murmurings and disputings:
15 That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world;
16 Holding forth the word of life; that I may rejoice in the day of Christ, that I have not run in vain, neither laboured in vain.
17 Yea, and if I be offered upon the sacrifice and service of your faith, I joy, and rejoice with you all.
