God Position As Father 6/06/2023
Daily Devotions: by Christina Farris2 Samuel 7:11-17 KJV
11 And as since the time that I commanded judges to be over my people Israel, and have caused thee to rest from all thine enemies. Also the LORD telleth thee that he will make thee an house.
12 And when thy days be fulfilled, and thou shalt sleep with thy fathers, I will set up thy seed after thee, which shall proceed out of thy bowels, and I will establish his kingdom.
13 He shall build an house for my name, and I will stablish the throne of his kingdom for ever.
14 I will be his father, and he shall be my son. If he commit iniquity, I will chasten him with the rod of men, and with the stripes of the children of men:
15 But my mercy shall not depart away from him, as I took it from Saul, whom I put away before thee.
16 And thine house and thy kingdom shall be established for ever before thee: thy throne shall be established for ever.
17 According to all these words, and according to all this vision, so did Nathan speak unto David.
Nathan came to prophesy about David sin, in this prophecy not fully posted here comes the later end where the hope of faith is continued in the next generation. Nathan tells David that Solomon will build a house for him and he will correct him. God would treat Solomon has his own son. That he will build a house that will last forever and ever. Now I stopping I said this is about Solomon but in reality it about Jesus. Solomon would be called son by God, he would sit throne of Israel and he would be talked to and corrected by God. God would speak to Solomon about his many wives and his sin. Yet Solomon would built God a Temple to live and reign in. He would treat Solomon like a son instead of responding to sin like he did to King Saul, where he removed his anointing of his Spirit from him. Solomon was told by God he give him anything he wanted and Solomon asked for wisdom. Solomon probably lived with his mother most of the time, and she probably lived a house for the women of King David. His mother was Bathesheba, and David had one son that died by her and the other one that came was Solomon.
How is this talking about Jesus, He is the only begotten Son of God, anyone else is adopted heir. Jesus would be correct by the will of God by the laws of man. Does God say to obey man's law. I think there is a place here to realize God maybe in disagreement with man, but Christ is in man's world acting in the flesh of man. If Christ had caused a rebellion in regards to destruction the whole fleet of Roman battalions would of reign down on Israel. God is looking what best for man in our world. Yet he still desires us to honor and to praise me above all others. Christ would be beaten and nailed to the cross.
Paul in Ephesians talks about obeying principalities and magistrates(government). In America our soldiers swear allegiance to uphold the constitutions. When the rights of people are at stake then they must uphold the rights even despite the government leaders. They are called to action even against their own. Now what authority are we under. Military has no time for politics because they are watching over our nation. Yet they also have to investigate each claim of improper procedures as well as whether there is a legit claim. If it proven to be correct maybe nothing happens legally, but the person causing what thought to be the problem is proven not to be the problem. Then the governmental leaders have to regroup. Military has the step between two opposite groups of people from time to time because of the constitution they protect. Every government agency is held to the highest standard of protecting the rights of the constitution but occasionally, even military, governmental offices and such fail. If all fail we all are in a heap of trouble. Court system equal required, but they fail too. What it means is when failure comes they must learn from their mistakes like all people. Itis a humble feeling to know our government must at some point admit a mistake. Humbling for all parties involved and beyond.
It is humbling to know God punished Jesus by our laws, but did not let him remain under the punishment for sin caused by Adam, because he sin not against God, only man. God redeem his Son to have eternal life with him on high. Does God's word fail, no. However the cost of anyone standing between God and Law or doing something for God might cost us by the laws of man. Yet eternity is promised by God to all that believe and repent of sin. Many things recorded in Old Testament that God lead the army, lead the people, lead the government, is meaning all or the majority of people were at the least people in submission to God. Very few nations can claim faith in God and Christ because people to busy to care. Yet when people look up to God and his saving grace, he allowing that freedom for them to work and have fun, but ask us only to recognize him in our activities and our daily life. To believe in him, that a small thing for God to ask, when we think of God's provision. His salvation provide for life as we carry the cross he designed for us. His salvation through belief for all through his Son is for eternity with him, no longer under the bondage of the law of man. Paul suffered for preaching, others have died trying to share the Gospel around the world. Some countries even saying Jesus faith is not welcome here. Other not caring only seeing the need and a way to get help to their people.
God calls himself father in this prophesy of Nathan's. Calls Solomon son, but more then that he speaks of the eternal redeemer of faith the would be punished for the laws of man. For paying also a price of a man that killed on the day of the insurrection. He also died for another person's sin, not just one person but all that nailed him, because we all are sinners saved by God's grace. We all nail God's word to that tree and crucifying when we honor him not or his ways. We live on the firing line of two laws, but when we stand for Jesus, we called son and daughter by God. God also took on the task of redeeming us for all eternity through his Son Jesus. Where one day we being only submission to the law of love.
Dear Heavenly Father, you called your people sons and daughters. You even allowed the correction of your Son by your will from the governmental authorities of the time of your dear Son. Help us to remember that when we face problems in our life, we look to you. Knowing our anger and handling things on our own probably is not in our best interest. In Jesus precious name, Amen.
Continual Scripture Study: Titus 3:1-8 KJV
1 Put them in mind to be subject to principalities and powers, to obey magistrates, to be ready to every good work,
2 To speak evil of no man, to be no brawlers, but gentle, shewing all meekness unto all men.
3 For we ourselves also were sometimes foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving divers lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, and hating one another.
4 But after that the kindness and love of God our Saviour toward man appeared,
5 Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;
6 Which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour;
7 That being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life.
8 This is a faithful saying, and these things I will that thou affirm constantly, that they which have believed in God might be careful to maintain good works. These things are good and profitable unto men.
