Majesty 6/03/2023
Daily Devotions: by Christina FarrisHebrews 8:1-13 KJV
1 Now of the things which we have spoken this is the sum: We have such an high priest, who is set on the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens;
2 A minister of the sanctuary, and of the true tabernacle, which the Lord pitched, and not man.
3 For every high priest is ordained to offer gifts and sacrifices: wherefore it is of necessity that this man have somewhat also to offer.
4 For if he were on earth, he should not be a priest, seeing that there are priests that offer gifts according to the law:
5 Who serve unto the example and shadow of heavenly things, as Moses was admonished of God when he was about to make the tabernacle: for, See, saith he, that thou make all things according to the pattern shewed to thee in the mount.
6 But now hath he obtained a more excellent ministry, by how much also he is the mediator of a better covenant, which was established upon better promises.
7 For if that first covenant had been faultless, then should no place have been sought for the second.
8 For finding fault with them, he saith, Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah:
9 Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day when I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt; because they continued not in my covenant, and I regarded them not, saith the Lord.
10 For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people:
11 And they shall not teach every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: for all shall know me, from the least to the greatest.
12 For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more.
13 In that he saith, A new covenant, he hath made the first old. Now that which decayeth and waxeth old is ready to vanish away.
How majestic is our God? We crown him with Majesty. We declare his works of his hands. Yet in his greatness he desire a new covenant with mankind. Not just his own tribe of people but the world. He offer the world with a High Priest fashioned in the image of himself, as a sacrifice for all mankind to begin this new covenant. This High Priest could not take away the sins of the world. First let's establish that God is in power, God is doing something not different but making it easier to be saved and not the work of the law in tow for salvation. Noah had to work for his salvation, it took him a hundred years to build an ark but God sealed the door of the ark upon Noah and his family entering with all the living animals. Abraham faith came with him believing God that Sarah would conceive the heir to the inheritance of faith. His righteousness coming as he left the land of his father and went to the promise land obeying God. Then after a long wait word came again and again that he would have offspring, even when it was impossible for his wife to do so because of age. Faith meaning he never gave up trying to help Sarah conceive. Moses lead the people into the wilderness where God established his covenant with his people and even spoke verbally to them. Even with the Hebrew people's fear, Moses became their acting intercessor, establishing the priesthood of God taint with the desires of the people whose desire was not always of God. Aaron a high priest obeyed the people to build the golden calf to bow to only to have it destroyed when Moses came off the hill. Aaron not strong enough in faith to with stand the wishes of the people. Yet when Moses came down the mountain and seen what was happen, establishing the fear of God back in the people after forty days of the stone tablets and laws being writen down on stone tablets. And breaking them had to return to the mountain of God for him to write once more the laws down. Israel had come to a place where God's laws matter little in the temple when Christ cleared the temple and caused sin by legal laws of the time. The restablishing of the laws of God coming with the sacrifice of the word of God upon the cross who was Jesus. Yet the word of God stood again on third day when Christ arose and in forty days being with the disciples returning ot his Heavenly Father full of grace, sitting on the right hand side of God the Father.
God in Majesty making his word equal in power and authority, not only equal but continuing the righteousness by faith first so the second part of the new covenant of the laws of God be established in the heart of man. Obedience to the Spirit something learned, the anger and rage over the broke law still existing in the heart of man, but the love God wins against the laws of mankind with love, and the law of God called forgiveness reigning over the sins of our own heart and the sins of others. To love others has ourself harder then you think when the law of forgiveness must trump the inner rage we feel in situation that happen in life that we fear we can not overcome. God's love becoming greater in our life the law of anger and hate. Allowing God to revenge the person that sins instead of us avenging, for we ourselves can not take away the sin of another nor punish accurately for it, but Christ can and will do so when the person repentance like we ourselves have too.
The Priesthood of faith verses the priesthood of man. Priesthood of man will fail but the great high priest in the order of Melchidek will not fail and is established by the word of God, who came in physical form to sit on the right hand of God the Father before all mankind. Holy Spirit confirms in our hearts what God's word declares through out the ages that the new covenant is through Christ and in him alone.
The work of God is established when people continue to love despite the action of the sins of others. Meaning to witness loss to know the cost of the sin of another effecting your life and still loving them. Whether your body being abused, or a loss of a love one to act or crime of another. Though I being vague here, I am telling you their are crimes that hard to forgive that mankind has to be faced with. God requires us to forgive, but he is willing to go the extra mile to help us learn to forgive and to press on in faith despite the acts of sin that effects our own sin, even when we thought we could not. To know we are no more just then another, even when we do not commit the same sin as another, but our own sin is equally deserving punishment called death established with the first sin of man, and with the ability to be forgiven upon confession of sin.
Think on this for a moment Aaron sinned in making the golden calf, because of the people, didn't mean Aaron bowed to worship, but he allowed the golden calf to be established. Aaron being forgiven because he only follow man in their desire, but not judge because his heart believed in God of Abraham. It is almost as sinful as ministers today having to marry couples by the law they disagree with because of the yoke of the law and the yoke of faith. God allowing the yoke of the law to handle and disproved by the ministers but yet obedience maybe required to marry any couple coming to you despite belief and faith. One is working by the law of government and the law of faith is put to the side to perform the duty as one would work in the workforce. Does it mean that faith can not inact certain principals of not allowing the house of God to be rented for purposes not of God. Definitely not. Does not mean God is happy about the situation, but he allowing it for the purpose of final judgment on those in sin. Are ministers in sin because of the participant of marrying gay couples. Aaron own disobedience in a sense speaks something year that must be studied by individuals to decide for themselves.
God's Majesty(greatness) being established with the ability to forgive men in position in government that break his law and his covenants to make room for those of the original covenant of multiplication, grossness of following their own desire and will despite the will of the Creator of the universe for marriage. If we can grasp as Paul spoke about it that people bowed to things of their own design more then the Creator will for their life, we can realize we all fall in the first covenant of man called faith from beginning in heaven. Yet God did not stop he said believe in me, and obey my word. He establed the laws for man to obey. Yet man obeyed the law without faith. God established the law of faith in Christ Jesus, so we understand is to believe in Christ, to believe his word that faith in his Son was essential for salvation, not only his word but in himself as well.
For those that follow Moses as intercessor why can he not be the intercessor for man in regards to faith, though he was devout man and very close to God. He became intercessor because of his obedience to God, but because God established him for the job. Yet he was imperfect man, and so Christ being perfect was able to be sacrificed for our sin. Christ being perfect allowed him to be equal to God the Father, his word being perfect even from the beginning. Christ being not tainted by our sin, yet becomes a covering for our sin.
As a child our sin is mimicked sometimes by other children, and hopefully that trait does not continue into adulthood. Our sin only taints someone elses right and wrong ethics. Christ made perfect is not caught in the grossness of our sin, but becomes the covering of that sin through the cross and punishment for sin. Only God could perform this for you and me. His greatness demonstrated in his salvation plan for man. To experience the cost of their sin with the consequence of Christ death of one perfect man name Jesus to establish forgiveness of sin through the cross. There many laws obeyed in our world that is sin against God, but to obeyed them would cause death of human life without Christ who offers eternal life through faith. The cost of following Jesus meaning to learn to obey God first and that obedience to God can come with a price at the cost of the law man. And yet Jesus submitted to the law of man by going to the cross.
Majesty of God being great when God demonstrates the cost of following him and the price that might be paid in doing so. Hopefully for many that price is never fully paid. If it is, then we have to recognize the fallacy of the law of man. Example over the years science has declare certain things harmful and that people need to do something else only to discover the less was less a problem then the second. Cost of obeying the law of our nation causing effects on our health. Law becoming wrong in itself. Lead paint being wonderful wall covering until children began to eat paint chips as it decay on the wall and made them sick. Sin is like that paint, it looks good until it begins to effect over all spiritual health when we yield to the temptation of the sin and do it.
God Majesty allowing us to discover the cost of sin, but also providing a way of escape. God's majesty coming with the word evolving to faith in Jesus. The Believer acknowledges God sent his Son on a rescue mission called salvation. He sends his Spirit to establishe his laws on the hearts of our very soul. Majesty, greatness of God in his mercy, in his holiness, in his perfection. His perfection not in tolerance of sin. Yet his mercy coming to establish faith in him despite our sin. Payment coming for our sin through his Son Jesus. That He remember our sin no more. HIs majesty being great.
Dear Heavenly Father, you are majestic in all you do for man, by sending your Son to die in our place. Help us to acknowledge daily that you are Majestic, remind us of your greatness, in Jesus precious name, Amen.
Continual Scripture Study: Hebrews 1:1-3 KJV
1 God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets,
2 Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds;
3 Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high;
Hebrews 5:1-10 KJV
1 For every high priest taken from among men is ordained for men in things pertaining to God, that he may offer both gifts and sacrifices for sins:
2 Who can have compassion on the ignorant, and on them that are out of the way; for that he himself also is compassed with infirmity.
3 And by reason hereof he ought, as for the people, so also for himself, to offer for sins.
4 And no man taketh this honour unto himself, but he that is called of God, as was Aaron.
5 So also Christ glorified not himself to be made an high priest; but he that said unto him, Thou art my Son, to day have I begotten thee.
6 As he saith also in another place, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec.
7 Who in the days of his flesh, when he had offered up prayers and supplications with strong crying and tears unto him that was able to save him from death, and was heard in that he feared;
8 Though he were a Son, yet learned he obedience by the things which he suffered;
9 And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him;
10 Called of God an high priest after the order of Melchisedec.
Romans 4:7 KJV
7 Saying, Blessed are they whose iniquities are forgiven, and whose sins are covered.
