Genesis 20:10-18 KJV
10 And Abimelech said unto Abraham, What sawest thou, that thou hast done this thing?
11 And Abraham said, Because I thought, Surely the fear of God is not in this place; and they will slay me for my wife's sake.
12 And yet indeed she is my sister; she is the daughter of my father, but not the daughter of my mother; and she became my wife.
13 And it came to pass, when God caused me to wander from my father's house, that I said unto her, This is thy kindness which thou shalt shew unto me; at every place whither we shall come, say of me, He is my brother.
14 And Abimelech took sheep, and oxen, and menservants, and womenservants, and gave them unto Abraham, and restored him Sarah his wife.
15 And Abimelech said, Behold, my land is before thee: dwell where it pleaseth thee.
16 And unto Sarah he said, Behold, I have given thy brother a thousand pieces of silver: behold, he is to thee a covering of the eyes, unto all that are with thee, and with all other: thus she was reproved.
17 So Abraham prayed unto God: and God healed Abimelech, and his wife, and his maidservants; and they bare children.
18 For the LORD had fast closed up all the wombs of the house of Abimelech, because of Sarah Abraham's wife.

Abimelech a king that fear God and when he learn of Sarah being Abraham wife, he wanted to know what wrong he done to him. Then he blesses Sarah and tells her basically never to look at another man besides her husband Abraham and he gave Abraham a 1000 pieces of silver for attempting to add her to his wives, even though it was Abraham fault. For he did not require of Sarah relationship to Abraham beyond kinship, which she was Abraham half sister. The King honor Sarah as a good wife of Abraham.

I want to take this one point here and say when the church marry's Jesus then they need not to look to anyone but Jesus. Meaning who are they married or bethrothe to in regards to marriage feast as yet to take place. It will take place when Christ returns to claim his bride the church. God says let my people go and they arise to find Christ in the sky beckon them upward to him. Jesus is our covering just as Abraham was Sarah covering and she needed no other. We are more then joint heirs with Jesus we are his bride the church.

Our spouses are the only covering we need for our marriage, the covering we might need for other things maybe like life insurance, auto insurance, and many other types of coverages in our world today for business and so forth. God's word is our coverage documentation of our faith, but our works and our witness is also a type of coverage that is also evidence of our faith. Yet when we stand at the throne of God, is Jesus going to say you are one of his, and one of his Father's because you are one of his. Abraham still claimed his wife, but claimed she was more then a sister when questioned by the King. Many people will be able to say I know the name of Jesus, knew he was born in a stable, knew he died on a cross, but will not be able to say they know Jesus as their personal Savior, or to be able to say they are a follower of Jesus. Why because they never took the first step toward asking Jesus to be their spouse. Meaning never asked Jesus to come into their heart. We are to keep our focus on Jesus. Many women look directly at another man with no intention or desire to go to bed with, or even go out on a date. Many women have no interest in the passing glance of another man then their husband. How many have study other religions, only to think for a moment what if I am wrong. It did not change your position as a child of God, but you ask the question about if this marriage was the one for you. Nothing wrong with making sure of your faith. Yet to embrace another faith because yours does not seem to be working is not the answer. Sarah did not want to marry the king, but she did it to honor her husband wishes. God warned the king, who told Abraham. Yet Abraham himself never gave the king a chance to prove he would not harm him before making a grave mistake that dishonored the king, who questioned him.

If you suffering from looking at other people religions, faiths, practices and realize you are not keeping your gaze on Jesus, tell him about it today, repent if you are committing sin, and also ask Jesus to strengthen your faith from what you are seeing or hearing elsewhere that bringing an attack from Satan on your life. Be faithful to your spouse Jesus. He is will be faithful to you before the throne of God and not denying you before his Father in heaven.

Dear Heavenly Father, help us to keep our eyes on you, even when there doubts of our faith. Many of us have been there and know it as struggle, but I know for certain that you are able to strengthen our faith in you. Lord Strengthen us so we look at no other but Jesus. In Jesus precious name, Amen.

Matthew 7:21-23 KJV
