Ecclesiastes 6:7 KJV
7 All the labour of man is for his mouth, and yet the appetite is not filled.

One thing for sure is that man will work for food. He will not starve if he has enough strength in his body to work. If you cook that work. If you make a sandwich that consider work, go to the local sub shop and you find all kinds of people making sandwiches. The farmer plows his field hoping God will give him a good crop to eat. Fresh veggies from the field can often be eaten raw as they are, only a few things taste better cooked.

The other day my husband stomach had a bottomless pit and I was already full. We had eaten the exact same thing as each other, but it was just not enough to fill his appetite. In reality all he had to do was open the refrige and pull out something else to eat. Yet he was not quite hungry enough to do that.

Today I wonder where I would be going in scripture, and I began to flip through the pages of the Bible looking for something to eat. How many are full on God's word today and feel no need to say another word about who God is. It not the first time I felt this full, and not felt overflowing in my life. Sometimes a few days off helps, sometimes a few Gospel hits is all I need, and sometimes the quiet corner of prayer. If you want to be filled with the meat of the word you got to dig for it. If you want the milk of the word you just only got to open it up and begin to read, starting with the Gospels(Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John). The question is are you hungry for food of the flesh or hungry for the word of God.

Jesus fasted for forty days and Satan tempted him by telling him to make bread from stone. Jesus said, "man shall not live on bread alone but every word that proceedth out of the mouth of God". Food is something we all labor for, but the word God is something we either receive from God or ignore it. God speaks warnings but no one grabs a hold of it. God speaks love and hope. Speaks of treasures man goes in search of it, never finding what they thought God meant. Yet God gives man his word in the flesh the best treasure of all, for he was also the only begotten Son of God and man crucifies him. Then God raise him up for the word to be preached again for forty days in Capernaum at his home in Galilee.

Jesus feeds the five thousand the four thousand fish and bread. Yet what they came looking for was not food, but the word of God. The need for meat in their body was important for the journey home, but not for the journey into the wilderness where Jesus was teaching. The need for meat and bread fulfilled with the word of God for the very soul of those that listen. And then their bellies were filled to enable them to believe all they heard Jesus speak. A miracle, a sign of wonderment, enough to get the crowd to continue to follow, desire the meat and bread to continue, but that was not the will of God to feed them continual with food for the belly. God desire to feed the people through Jesus' teaching, to instruct them how to live.

What stomach are we worried about, the one that needs spiritual food or the stomach that needs physical food. Watching the state of our economy and being told it getting better, but the grocery stores by prices says it is a lie. What will people do for food. Ask the government for help if they qualify. If they do not qualify they in the food line at the pantries. If they dont' qualify for the food line at the pantries then they either going to steal, work, or starve. The other day I seen a program that said all things should be back to normal in a year and half. I laugh, not with everyone taking more money because of they forced to pay hire wages. Everyone taking their half out of the middle. The increase gotten over the years for raises really only helps people stay a float for a period of time, until every business catches up with the increase.

God's word was void from the earth, the earth would not operate, the earth would not be. Yet God created the heavens and the earth. He created the things to eat from the soil and the trees. There is a point to this picture. People laboring needing help for food. They no longer working for the basics but everyone else to have a pay check. When working in a fast food joint is not adequate pay to feed a family of four, there is a problem in our society. When the things of necessity can no longer be met by 9 to 5 job or 12 hour shift there is a problem in our world. What are necessities. food, clothing, and shelter. For working families good affordable child care, because it takes two adults to work and not raise their children. Children spend almost all their waking hours in child care, the rest of the time, they are hopefully sleeping through the night in the security of a home. If children are old enough to spend eight hours by themselves, with a neighbor looking in from time to time, then they are raising themselves. How much word of God do you think they get. Children get the picture work means brings home the bacon. Yet people are not able to bring home the bacon in some jobs. Two to three jobs, how many hours do you have in a day, week or month for your family, to rest, to keep existing. How much time do you have to for God and to teach your child the ways of Jesus.

People are starving for the word of God? They labor not for the word of God. The word is provided by God. It must come forth from his mouth, and given to his people to teach, to share, and to fill those in need of his word. His Spirit gives to all freely that desire to know his word, to know his reality. What do we have to do but to listen to his word and be filled with it. Yet man must work for food. If they dont' gather, it they make their food in some way, they kill their meat or they buy their meat, by shopping which is proven to be work, as people fill boxes of orders for lazy shoppers that love the convience of having items either shipped to their home, or picked up already boxed. God's word can not be boxed, though it comes in book bindings, God's word still is coming forth in the world we live in today. There time of God's silence, but it still coming forth to renew the Spirit of his saints.

Man will always while on this earth labor for food, but Man will never labor for the word God to be able to eat of it. God is not going to leave you hungry if you only got five minutes to worship, you just have to apply those five minutes to listening to God. Society and governments will not purposely let you starve for long periods of time, but they can not feed you without you working. Without produce being deliver, meat being butchered. and something to drink besides water being produced. America is responsible for billions of people in the since of food supply. Our food source goes many will be hungry, including hear at home. Our economy needs to meet the needs of the necessities in life, Health care being another. Is there a solution, not with fluctuation of the economy. Yet the solution of fluctuation of spiritual food, is on your ability to listen to what God has to say good or bad. Sometimes we need to hear the warnings, sometimes we need the mountain top, but we all seem to walk in the valley and dessert relying on manna of God's word.

Remember to feed your soul, to go to God and seek his word. To know that Jesus lives. God's word is the diet for spiritual health. Be willing to receive what God sends forth from his mouth. Be nourished by God's word. To have salvation through Christ Jesus upon belief in him.

Dear Heavenly Father, we pray for our nation and its economy and the struggles of the yo yo effect of our economy is causing in our nation upon its people. Lord feed our soul, even when we laboring for our stomaches. Let your word and Spirit overflow so that our nation is feed the word of God for free, in Jesus precious name, Amen.
