The Valley Between The Walls
7/05/2023

Daily Devotions:
by Christina Farris

Psalm 23:4 KJV
4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.

Walking toward the promise land we walk in the valley of the shadow of death. Yesterday I talk about two walls. One wall being the laws of God like Ten Commandments and the other wall the laws of man, like American's Constitution laws. If you live in another country put your laws on the laws of man. The valley is our life until we meet Jesus in the middle to walk the rest of the way with him to the promise land. In the walk of faith there is shadows of death all around us as we slip and fall into sin. What is sin but the wages of death. What sin are you going to commit that going to take you out of this world. Do you drink and drive, do you do drugs, are you in constant war with your neighbors, is your sinful actions leading to death. Drinking and driving, because it is an easy sin to see by the laws of man and the laws of God to be deadly. Yet we might relate it to a traffic accident more readily, but in truth most sin acts is a wreck waiting to happen. What is a sin act, but any act of sin that will displease God. Crime act that leads to death or the amount of years in prison as murder is by the laws of man. The sin act or crime act against man will not cost you eternity if there is repentance and receiving Christ as Lord, but it will not stop the laws of man from prosecuting you under their laws. The laws of God are punishable by death without salvation by Christ Jesus. There people in occult groups that try and claim they are as good as the laws of God never ever have broken them. The rich young ruler in the New Testament Gospels being one of them. His perfection and deserving heaven in his mind was marked by his obedience to the laws of God.

One can obey all the commandments of God and still go to hell. Still go to the lake of fire. We are under the law that will destroy us. The law of faith is greater then the Ten Commandments. Abraham a man of faith, was also a sinner. His action of faith even failing as he slept with Sarah's maid. His life seem justifiable when read, but he still was falling short of the glory of God by his sin. God credit Abraham as having faith in him, however Abraham still had to perform the sacrifice for sin. The sacrifice for sin changed as Christ went to the cross and died for sin of another. As Christ died for those nailing him to the cross and those shouting crucify. Our sin does crucify Jesus. Jesus says Father forgive them they know not what they do. We crucify Jesus because of our disobedience to God's word, failing to even being the witness to those around us of the value of faith in God, making us no better or worse then other people without God, that it cause man to say why do I need faith in Christ and God. Then God word proves not the value of us, but the value of his word as they see God's word changing lives despite the believers imperfection.

Adam and Eve sin got us placed outside the very same garden we seem to long for. It might not be Eden we going to but it the place of paradise. It what Eden represents God garden. With that sin Adam would face death. What are we doing that is causing our own death. All Adam did was eat the forbidden fruit to experience death. What are we doing in our life that causing our death. The lastest diet maybe the thing that causes death. Everyone got on the band wagon to loose weight by sugar substitutes not because of diabetes. Yet were those substitutes health. Most are safe to use, but in years past there were some brands that were pulled from the market back in the 70 or 80s. Something about causing cancer I think. What do we eat that does not cause cancer. Is cancer caused by sin. The Philistines knew when they stole the ark that the tumors were because of their theft of Israel God. I think it had to do with a lack of reverence to God of Israel. Now look at the cancer list of foods one should be careful eating and wonder are these products that are fast produced in our nation by being processed into something that seems desirable and edible, but long term use is deadly. Walking down a street can be deadly but it not because of our sin, but the sin of another usually that would cause our demise. Macroni and cheese was said to cause cancer because of additives in the eighties.

Every now and then you hear stories of parents throwing their child into a dangerous animal pen at a zoo. I have to wonder what did that child do to deserve potential death and of course by some miracle the zoo keeper rescues that child. The parent is then charged with child abuse and attempted murder. Law crushing any potential the parent had to live a full life in freedom because of his or her sin. Adam and Eve charged with sin of eating fruit, and was cast into the lions den so to speak, but the den is created by God and within the den(called earth), it as many benefits for survival, even tools to fight off the attacks of the devil/lion/serpent. In the world that seems distant to face total destruction is survival tools to help one learn about faith, hope and love. God demonstrated his love by giving us living creatures, like deer, squirrel, monkeys and so forth that in its natural loving environment, they seem to teach love until man kills their offspring. I watch online the other day a baby whale stop a cruise ship to get help for his mom. The cruise ship called the coast guard, and they came out to see what the baby whale wanted. His moma ws intangles by a rope that had to be saw off with a pocket knife to remove the trap. Animals of the sea coming to ask for assistance of people now. Sounds strange, until you watch animal behavior long enough to realize they not so dumb after all. They know who can save them.

Because of Adam we entangled by the yoke of sin, Jesus is the only one that can remove the yoke of sin we are untangled by the blood covering. That same covering that was applied through sacrificial laws of faith in the Old Testament. We walking between two walls of sin the hope that if we break a commandment of God we are saved with a get out of jail free card called salvation by faith in Christ Jesus who covers all our sin with his blood. No longer having to face death because of sin, but facing human death because of Adam but not spiritual death because of Adam disobedience.

Every now and then you hear of an odd accident causing death and one might wonder why, because the type of accident makes no sense at all. Then if you ask yourself what was their sin, or error in cause of the accident if any or was it act of judgment. If one looks at death has God's judgment or is it salvation. Does judgment from God come on believers. If we still experiencing physical death then are we still dying for sin. We are no longer dying spiritually for sin. Our eternity with God fully realize as our faith blossom through trials and tribulation in life. God providing when we need to know his provision, giving hope when we can not stand without it. Faith in Christ and putting our hope in our Savior whose Father has declare he is our salvation. We walk between these walls that with any sin could literally get us into trouble with either our Heavenly Father, or the world. Yet salvation is in the middle as God parted these two walls for man. Showing his wall with authority and the wall of law by man's authority being lesser. God teaching us through Christ coming and obey the laws of man along with his word. His word being first and man being second. Christ rising again, not kept in the grave, meaning his word, his Son only face human death, not eternal death. For his Son was eternal from the beginning.

In Bible school the pledge of allegiance is often prior to the pledge to the Christian flag and the Bible. How the Bible rate third place i have yet to know in church. Yet it accepted as tradition. As a Christian is our pledge to God first or to our land? Which wall is greater in life. If we say thank God for faith, then the walls remain back in place as we walk between these laws. Our Spirit knows not the laws of faith beyond what the Holy Spirit writes on the heart of the believer. The laws of man continue to be study as if we truly following the laws of man, or the laws of faith, but for a believer the walls are held in place by faith in God. Take note where is the Bible placed between two pledges that alone representing Jesus will save our soul alone. Yet the pledge of holding to the word of God on faith will enable us to live for eternity with God as we believe in Jesus who is God's Son and Word.

There is no sting of death beyond the physical body, the Spiritual body goes on home to be with God upon death. Many of the sins in the wilderness was caused by unbelief and control desired that was not appointed by God. In one case God's judgment caused a family to be swallowed up, because they desire control. They sinned against God by trying to remove those anointed for God's service. The picture not pretty how God judgment came down but it shows God will not stop his will from reigning. That judgment will come to the offender of his will.

It like the old saying one vote not going to make a difference who man wants in office, God will be done. What opposition to God in this world will remove us from this earth? The valley not so easy to walk in at times. Yet to understand God's will and purpose is far greater then our own is to allow God to handle it. The other day I heard science was looking at the sky above us for signs of intelligent life in regards to that intelligent life being God. God has shown man stars can blow apart, he shown them the milky way and many things up in the heavens above us and they still waiting for a clear message of intelligent life out there. Needless to say if they can not see it in God's handiwork they will never understand they can not discover the source or power of God in his creation. If in the sand the words will you marry me is written, most would assume it whoever brings his girlfriend to that particular location to prepose to her that wrote it, especially if he signs his name in the sand as well to keep other boyfriends from getting into trouble with their girlfriend passing by those same words. The boyfriend not present when it discovered by the signature being there tells the girlfriend it not for her if it not her boyfriends name. God handiworks is marked by the complexed of the design of things. Man maybe able to wire a hand to move like human arm, but what man can not do is cause the arm to grow attached to human body and keep it alive with life flowing blood of human being. When God writes on the wall of the believers heart he wrote love. All the Gospel writers agree the greatest command is love. Yet the word love is not used much in the Old Testament. It was not loveless society, but the word love is not spoke in the since of the word love, but actions often display love and defense of those man loved that followed God. The signature on the wall of our hearts is greater then the wall of command, because the law of faith is designed with love in action shining toward us as we step out in faith to believe in Jesus.

God need to show us how great he truly is and he demonstrates it through first his Son and then the Holy Spirit. Jesus writes us through his word, through his life will you marry me. Who would come to a group of heathens to share love, will God did and they believed. Jesus wants to take you to the pearly gates as his bride to walk hand and hand as his bride. Do not allow the wall of God or the wall of man to crush you. God's law crush Pharaoh, Man Law crush Jesus, and Jesus arose from the grave, Pharaoh is being dug up by archaelogist in Egypt, all they been allowed to do is use cameras in the red sea. Jesus triumph over the grave man placed him. Jesus did not come to condemn man the first time, but in last days God's wrath will come on children of disobedience and not with love. Do you want to obey God despite failing man's laws?

Two walls we walk between in the valley of death, yet Christ protects us through his cross when we believe in him. We put our trust in Jesus and the laws of God are protect by the law of love in our hearts and the law of man whether it tries to crush or not, we make it to the Promise land.

Dear Heavenly Father, help us to walk in the shadow of death of two laws, and to fear no evil for your are with me your rod and your staff, a symbol of the great shepherd that comforts my soul as a believer in Christ called the Holy Spirit. Help me to keep my feet straight in the direction of your leadership by your Spirit. In Jesus precious name, Amen.

Continual Scripture Study: 1 Corinthians 15:55-58 KJV
55 O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?
56 The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law.
57 But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
58 Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.
