38 And Pharaoh said unto his servants, Can we find such a one as this is, a man in whom the Spirit of God is?
39 And Pharaoh said unto Joseph, Forasmuch as God hath shewed thee all this, there is none so discreet and wise as thou art:
40 Thou shalt be over my house, and according unto thy word shall all my people be ruled: only in the throne will I be greater than thou.
41 And Pharaoh said unto Joseph, See, I have set thee over all the land of Egypt.
42 And Pharaoh took off his ring from his hand, and put it upon Joseph's hand, and arrayed him in vestures of fine linen, and put a gold chain about his neck;
43 And he made him to ride in the second chariot which he had; and they cried before him, Bow the knee: and he made him ruler over all the land of Egypt.
To work for the king, to be servant of the king, to be a person delivered from the dark dungeon of no way out. We must remember Joseph had gone to prison over a crime he did not commit. Yet he remain faithful to God while in prison and because of the gift of interpretation of dreams God enable Joseph to help several people. The interpretation came to pass, but one man died he prophesied about and the other lived and continued to serve the Pharoah of Egypt. Pharoah had a dream, and was distressed over the dream to the point he sought out someone to interpret the dream and the servant of Pharoah that had lived remember the man named Joseph. Pharaoh sent for Joseph. Up out of the dungeon Joseph came and interpreted the dream that Pharoah had. The dream interpretation was to help and save the nation and not to cause it harm. Pharoah felt that Joseph insight was true and from God that he took off his ring and put a robe of royalty on him and gave him a carriage to ride. He also gave Joseph authority of the warehouse for the food that would be stored for the famine that was going to come.
To be a servant of the pharaoh did not come without labor, but it came with fineries of royalty a robe fit for anyone working for the Pharoah. He was also given the king's signet ring to help in his work to seal anything necessary in his new career. He was given a fine vehicle to ride in. When we join God's army, when God calls us out of dungeon of life to a life worthy to be called a child of God he puts on the robe of righteousness and gives one the authority to pray in Jesus name. His call is to work for his kingdom in the job of his calling.
The Prodigal Son in Luke 15 in today's Continual scripture Study shows how a son not worthy of his father's inheritance squanders it away and lands up living in a village that put him to work tending swine/hogs. As he ate pig slope he came to repentance and knowledge his father's servants were treated far better then he was being treated feeding hogs. That corn cob scraps feed to the swine was not even a fitting meal for his father's servant. He took off for home, hoping he could at least serve his father. He knew as a servant he would be will cared for. His father seen his son a far off and ran to him, hugged him, put a ring on his finger and a new robe. His father also had the fatted calf killed for dinner. He was still a child of his father. The precious hope of faith.
We are children of God whether in the dungeon by trial of our faith or in the dungeon because of sin and running away, God mercy is great. His love for his children is great. He calls us from the pit of despair into a marvelous light of hope and faith. Part of liberty is to see that following in the ways of God is true liberty. To be a child of God means you are taken care of and restored when you taken from the dungeon like Joseph was by Pharoah. The Prodigal Son discovered that his storm was his own doing, but he recognized even being a servant of his father was even greater. When we realize in our backslidden state to be a servant of God is far greater, then our heart is ready to be restore to proper place in God's kingdom. We are set free not by the things God gives, but by our repented heart, by our obedience in the hour of God's will to change our life for better, by serving God in the call for our life. God call on Joseph life was to rule with Pharoah. Not to be a prison to false accusations. We may be in our storm in our location, but God wants to bring us forth out of the storm in our life to fulfill his will in our life and the life of others. He has a place for you and one of royal standing.
Dear Heavenly Father thank you for regarding us as your child that no matter where we are in our walk whether in a dungeon by wrongfully be accused or by our own doing that your plans of restoration is just in sight. Help us to have that hope and faith you have a plan for our life. In Jesus precious name, Amen.
Continual Scripture Study: Luke 15:11-24 KJV
11 And he said, A certain man had two sons:
12 And the younger of them said to his father, Father, give me the portion of goods that falleth to me. And he divided unto them his living.
13 And not many days after the younger son gathered all together, and took his journey into a far country, and there wasted his substance with riotous living.
14 And when he had spent all, there arose a mighty famine in that land; and he began to be in want.
15 And he went and joined himself to a citizen of that country; and he sent him into his fields to feed swine.
16 And he would fain have filled his belly with the husks that the swine did eat: and no man gave unto him.
17 And when he came to himself, he said, How many hired servants of my father's have bread enough and to spare, and I perish with hunger!
18 I will arise and go to my father, and will say unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and before thee,
19 And am no more worthy to be called thy son: make me as one of thy hired servants.
20 And he arose, and came to his father. But when he was yet a great way off, his father saw him, and had compassion, and ran, and fell on his neck, and kissed him.
21 And the son said unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and in thy sight, and am no more worthy to be called thy son.
22 But the father said to his servants, Bring forth the best robe, and put it on him; and put a ring on his hand, and shoes on his feet:
23 And bring hither the fatted calf, and kill it; and let us eat, and be merry:
24 For this my son was dead, and is alive again; he was lost, and is found. And they began to be merry.
