Praying In The Name Of Jesus 2/28/2023
Daily Devotions: by Christina FarrisMatthew 18:18-20 KJV
18 Verily I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever ye shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.
19 Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven.
20 For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.
These few verse above is about simple praying and it is entwined with yesterday lesson on forgiveness. I know there are times as a Christian I wonder if we had the biggest revival across our land and around the world what would happen. What would happen if we got all the prayer warriors of faith in one location that were sincere about prayer. If not in one place but all unified at the same time, down to the last second for say thirty days to 3 months. Would we see the move God in land like never before? Many prayer warriors already praying around the clock for this generation, and even in situations they are in to have the hand of God move. I am been shocked at the move of God even in our world day in way that I know it was an act of God. When I think on this generation of retirees and think of how much praying they can do our world is going to be a much safer place then the evil that can befall the world. Yet can this generation say I going to pray along with the disabled people of our world that is not working that is able to pray for a change in our nation and the world.
It easy to talk of love and about praying but are we sincere enough to encourage others to do just that and encourage them to form group of prayer warriors if nothing but online, and those that can in local places to meet or in a home or church setting, saying we are going to commit to praying and we going to touch the areas of strongs holds that Satan is trying to control and bind him from being able to do anymore evil in this area. We know that if we pray God hears us. We also know God does not work on our time table. What we pray for today may take time to happen according to the will of God. Then can we come to agreement for God to have his will in each area despite our own ideas. Can we agree to continue to pray.
There not a person alive that if they had the opportunity to see God not only move in their life but move in the world because of their desire to see the will of God happening would not want that opportunity. It would be easy to say well I prayed for it and so it happened, and that gives me power. Wait hold on, you have no power. When we pray for God's will to be done we invoking and asking God's will to be done not according to our will but his will. We not giving God permission he not our permission to do anything. We are making known to God our approval our praise for his will in this situation and we ask God's will in the situation. It not our power but it is God's power for use and his service to be done according to his will.
We are not to demand God to do, but to invoke and to ask God will to be done according to his will and plan for our life and the life of others. We can have assurance that God not only hears us as we ask in the name of Jesus meaning to ask according to his word and will for our life, but we have assurance God will uphold his word according to his purpose. The name and claim it and saying it God may not be God's will. Nothing wrong with claiming God's word and purpose but we need to understand the meaning of this claim and his will and allow others without understanding to know we are not saying God going to do it as we ask but according to his will and word he will provide and already provided. If I believe God will heal me of all my diseases, I have to understand when God says not right this instant, that later down the road it is going to happen. I can claim that because God word declares that he is the healer of all our diseases, but when the cripple does not jump up and down and I am still praying I can respect God has a reason for not doing so the instant two or three believers are praying in Jesus name for it to happen that it might be later, it might be through death into eternity. Yet I can receive God's will knowing not only does he hears the believer but he going to help take us through the fire or the test of our situation if not healed instantly or a few days later. Our willingness to receive all God gives us must also come with God's will.
The reason I can teach about Jesus name this way is simple I study the Bible on healing, and on why did the miracle not happen and happens. Sometimes it a simple lack of faith that a person is not seeing deliverance in one area or another. Sometimes it has to do with the need of repentance. And sometimes it has to with simple it not God's time yet. Do you think Christ healing us of all our sin did not take over 10000 years to occur, you are sadly mistaken. Christ cross came with time. Our healing for salvation upon belief always came instantly no matter where one repented in scripture or in the world today. Sometimes what we ask for we are not ready to receive. It not that we not trying to receive his word, but we not ready to absorb it into our life and for that reason God will, will come according to his purpose and will for our life. We know God does not desire anyone to suffer or to perish, but man must do his part in the process God has called faith and that is to believe and wait for his will.
When God seems to be healing abundantly there is a reason for it, as well as when great revivals break out in our land God has prepared the hearts of man to receive him. It means something happening according to God's will and purpose for the area and the lives of those who are experiencing a great revival. Sometimes one feeling like they are having revival all to themselves and halellujah if they are, and sometimes it with a crowd. Pray in the name of Jesus according to the word of God according to the promises of God in scripture, invoking(praising God) and asking God for his will to be done.
Dear Heavenly Father, may your will be done on earth and it is in heaven. Hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done in earth as it is in heaven. In Jesus precious name, Amen.
Continual Scripture Study: Matthew 6:9-13 KJV
9 After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.
10 Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.
11 Give us this day our daily bread.
12 And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.
13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.
