Are You Being Crushed

Daily Devotions:
by Christina Farris

John 7:26-36 KJV
26 But, lo, he speaketh boldly, and they say nothing unto him. Do the rulers know indeed that this is the very Christ?
27 Howbeit we know this man whence he is: but when Christ cometh, no man knoweth whence he is.
28 Then cried Jesus in the temple as he taught, saying, Ye both know me, and ye know whence I am: and I am not come of myself, but he that sent me is true, whom ye know not.
29 But I know him: for I am from him, and he hath sent me.
30 Then they sought to take him: but no man laid hands on him, because his hour was not yet come.
31 And many of the people believed on him, and said, When Christ cometh, will he do more miracles than these which this man hath done?
32 The Pharisees heard that the people murmured such things concerning him; and the Pharisees and the chief priests sent officers to take him.
33 Then said Jesus unto them, Yet a little while am I with you, and then I go unto him that sent me.
34 Ye shall seek me, and shall not find me: and where I am, thither ye cannot come.
35 Then said the Jews among themselves, Whither will he go, that we shall not find him? will he go unto the dispersed among the Gentiles, and teach the Gentiles?
36 What manner of saying is this that he said, Ye shall seek me, and shall not find me: and where I am, thither ye cannot come?

Jesus is still at the feast. Now I want to ask you question is this love to talk to those in opposition to you? To talk to them and explain truth to them? Jesus was dealing with opposition during the feast but those that recognized him as the Christ knew because of the miracles he did. Let stop there for moment the opposition was concerned because the elders had not said he was the Christ. Yet those that believe Jesus was the Christ believed. This opposition based on their own eyes of seeing the work of Christ. Yet those in power knew him, listen to him, was with him in the city streets asking questions, and he even came in the temple teaching and they knew not who he was. They knew not Christ because they knew not God. This is a hard concept because when religious leaders act religious without faith and people do the ame, they following man and traditions and not the evidence God brings.

There is evidence of God in our world we live in. Turkey just had a major earthquake some have been rescued and others are still buried under the rubble. One little baby was pulled out of the rubble according to the news. She has no mother or father, or any family left. Yet one day she will know she is a survivor and miracle, been born under the rubble, without hope until rescuer found her. Faith is like a new baby coming out of the way of destruction. We are rescue from the blindness of our leaders, our teachers, and our even our family. We come out knowing truth of God is not always in what we are familiar with, but the evidence of God upon survival of the wreckage of betrayal, lies, sin, and more. It when we get real with God that we can get out from beneath the rubble of destruction in our life and face the truth of who Jesus is.

Jesus on his way back from the feast in Matthew, based on location of Caesarea Phillipi, Jesus had a discourse with his disciples and asked Peter who he said he was. Peter said the Christ. Jesus said upon this rock I will build my church. Jesus is to be cornerstone, a stumbling block and crusher in scripture. Jesus being the cornerstone of faith, because the very foundation of the Jewish temple was fixing to be completely removed. A stumbling block to those that have no faith in Jesus, and a crusher to those that will never believe in Jesus. What enabled Peter to believe was it religious leaders, the crowd or the Holy Spirit. Peter believed because of the Holy Spirit.

I will never be able to convince you who Jesus is, but I know the one that can convince you who Jesus is and that is the Holy Spirit. As a believer if we dig deep in our soul we will ask ourselves what convinced us and the only answer can be the Holy Spirit. He the same part of the Godhead that convicts our heart of sin and the need of a Savior. We are already buried in sin of rocks crumbled around us, but God is able to dig us out like a fine pearl in a oyster mouth deep under the sea. When we receive Jesus as the Christ(as the anointed Son of God) we are then born again spiritually, and are lift out of the rocks of sin that is about to crush us. That little baby being lifted up only a reminder to me of this very thing.

Yes we need to pray for Turkey, they are one nation that has carried some of the original artifacts of what is thought to be Noah ark for thousands of years. The evidence of the story being a foundation stone for all that believed it wa Noah ark. Yet it not the only evidence of God in the world, that pre Christ or even after Christ. These ancient artifacts are necessary for the believer, yet it not what will convince a person that Jesus is the Christ, only that there was God that spoke to a man name Noah to build such an ark.

The temple at the time of Christ the veil or partition in the Holies of Holies would be riped from top to bottom.. signifying there was no separation between God and man no more. Yet the veil would be restored by cloud Christ ascended into heaven on. Yet the Holy Spirit was coming to fill every believers heart not just be the convictor of the heart. The temple holding the history of the Jewish people but not to just them, but other groups as well. Some to faith in God because of his power to over come other nations, and some not because of the destruction of Israel that would come. Yet faith in God had more then a builidng standing between the people and him, but the very Savior in which they denied existed. The true evidence of God lies in the miracles and his creation. The evidence of Jesus remains in the miracles and wonders he performed as well as his teachings recorded in scripture. Yet the main evidence of God is his Spirit that convicts the heart, putting pressure of his Spirit on the heart of man/woman to repent, calling him/her to come forth into new life in Christ, to be born again. The spirit of conviction of sin, the spirit of comfort that there is hope to receive upon repentance of sin. That there is new life once cross over from sin to new life in Christ Jesus. Something spiritual that can not be taken away from the experience of a believer.

It is something more then a feeling, or experience it is Jesus that becomes real in your heart and can not be destroyed or taken from you once saved. Peter knew who Jesus was the anointed, the Christ. The crowd that knew Jesus was the Christ understood not what was wrong with everyone else, what confusion, but it because they knew not about the Spirit of conviction to salvation yet, for the Priesthood could not have explained it for they knew not God, nor could the unbelievers because they were looking at man and not asking of God for the evidence to see by or reading scripture to understand about who the Messiah they looked for was. They wanted it to declare to them by man and not God. Peter knew because he was at the baptism of Jesus. Peter knew because of the evidence of who Jesus was through out the time spent with Jesus.

Are you ready to believe? Pray this prayer with me to receive Jesus as Lord and Savior.

Dear Heavenly Father, we come to you confessing our sin and asking you to remove our sin through the faith in Christ Jesus, who died on the cross for my sins, I receive Jesus into my heart and the seal of the Holy Spirit who testified to me of who Jesus is, in Jesus precious name, Amen.

Continual Scripture Study: Matthew 16:13-20 KJV
13 When Jesus came into the coasts of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, saying, Whom do men say that I the Son of man am?
14 And they said, Some say that thou art John the Baptist: some, Elias; and others, Jeremias, or one of the prophets.
15 He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am?
16 And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.
17 And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven.
18 And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.
19 And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.
20 Then charged he his disciples that they should tell no man that he was Jesus the Christ.

Matthew 21:42-44 KJV
42 Jesus saith unto them, Did ye never read in the scriptures, The stone which the builders rejected, the same is become the head of the corner: this is the Lord's doing, and it is marvellous in our eyes?
43 Therefore say I unto you, The kingdom of God shall be taken from you, and given to a nation bringing forth the fruits thereof.
44 And whosoever shall fall on this stone shall be broken: but on whomsoever it shall fall, it will grind him to powder.
