Allow The Lord To Fight 12/30/2023
Daily Devotions: by Christina FarrisExodus 14:1-14 KJV
1 And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,
2 Speak unto the children of Israel, that they turn and encamp before Pihahiroth, between Migdol and the sea, over against Baalzephon: before it shall ye encamp by the sea.
3 For Pharaoh will say of the children of Israel, They are entangled in the land, the wilderness hath shut them in.
4 And I will harden Pharaoh's heart, that he shall follow after them; and I will be honoured upon Pharaoh, and upon all his host; that the Egyptians may know that I am the LORD. And they did so.
5 And it was told the king of Egypt that the people fled: and the heart of Pharaoh and of his servants was turned against the people, and they said, Why have we done this, that we have let Israel go from serving us?
6 And he made ready his chariot, and took his people with him:
7 And he took six hundred chosen chariots, and all the chariots of Egypt, and captains over every one of them.
8 And the LORD hardened the heart of Pharaoh king of Egypt, and he pursued after the children of Israel: and the children of Israel went out with an high hand.
9 But the Egyptians pursued after them, all the horses and chariots of Pharaoh, and his horsemen, and his army, and overtook them encamping by the sea, beside Pihahiroth, before Baalzephon.
10 And when Pharaoh drew nigh, the children of Israel lifted up their eyes, and, behold, the Egyptians marched after them; and they were sore afraid: and the children of Israel cried out unto the LORD.
11 And they said unto Moses, Because there were no graves in Egypt, hast thou taken us away to die in the wilderness? wherefore hast thou dealt thus with us, to carry us forth out of Egypt?
12 Is not this the word that we did tell thee in Egypt, saying, Let us alone, that we may serve the Egyptians? For it had been better for us to serve the Egyptians, than that we should die in the wilderness.
13 And Moses said unto the people, Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the LORD, which he will shew to you to day: for the Egyptians whom ye have seen to day, ye shall see them again no more for ever.
14 The LORD shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace. In life as you begin your journey hopefully in a safe environment, but Israel situation the safety and security of Egypt meant back breaking work and a life of salvary. When we begin our life in the world whether it be college or instant career, one will meet all kind of people. Some so rich in the sinful life style that they want to prostylete you into the sinful world of their reality not knowing the love and compassion of God that in your life. You party with them once, do them a favor, they will seek you for another trying to make you one of their homies.Their ways are not God's way and you want to walk to the promise land wirh Jesus but your in fear of what these people will do to you because you desire to follow Jesus. Yet that one party they not only got you drunk but they got you high. Did you get sick afterwards? You were stuck in a group of people they seem to accept you but all they wanted was someone to help pay for their next party or all of it. The gossip alone in the group waa destruction to the human soul and the lies of Satan that said you belong and did not were a strong ploy. You were in a place that needs Jesus how many can you lead out of that situation? How many can you convince to go to church or a Christian concert? How many are from the church world at this party following their desires and not their commitment to Christ or at the minmun their family moral high ground. What were you doing there anyway making your faith seem to have no value. These people will folliw you out the door of the party crowd if you will leave, but are you afraid that you will loose your new friends.
This same feeling of leaving peers out of fear of this world to follow Jesus is the same struggle and fear Israel had leaving Egypt to follow God. No matter what there is a security with human power despite human abuse of that power.
The idea of civil war in our land is fueled by the power that leaders have in our countries and other countries as well. Yet Ukraine has proven it's abilitty to fight. When no one believe he could in its little tiny power.
Why is then when Israel seen Pharaoh coming did fear overtake them until their new leader Moses spoke: "And Moses said unto the people, Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the LORD, which he will shew to you to day: for the Egyptians whom ye have seen to day, ye shall see them again no more for ever. The LORD shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace".
Our fear comes because we understand not the power of God or the plans he has to over come the enemies and sin in our life. We live by sight wirhout the knowledge or power of our Lord. We are choosing defeat of Satan instead of the Victory we can have when we give the battle to the Lord. Can you trust Jesus today to allow God to first have victory in your life.
Tomorrow we continue on this subject of fear and talk more about sinking in mud for our own desires and walking on solid ground for God's victory.
We need to learn to allow God to fight the enemy and learn ti just to obey God's word to have victory in our life for the glory of God.
Dear Father help us to allow you to fight our battles leaving the enemy behind. In Jesus precious name, Amen. Continual Scripture Study: 2 Chronicles 20:15 KJV
15 And he said, Hearken ye, all Judah, and ye inhabitants of Jerusalem, and thou king Jehoshaphat, Thus saith the LORD unto you, Be not afraid nor dismayed by reason of this great multitude; for the battle is not yours, but God's. http://www.turtle30cshell.com
