Horn Buds Forth 12/14/2023
Daily Devotions: by Christina FarrisIsaiah 9:1-7 KJV
1 Nevertheless the dimness shall not be such as was in her vexation, when at the first he lightly afflicted the land of Zebulun and the land of Naphtali, and afterward did more grievously afflict her by the way of the sea, beyond Jordan, in Galilee of the nations.
2 The people that walked in darkness have seen a great light: they that dwell in the land of the shadow of death, upon them hath the light shined.
3 Thou hast multiplied the nation, and not increased the joy: they joy before thee according to the joy in harvest, and as men rejoice when they divide the spoil.
4 For thou hast broken the yoke of his burden, and the staff of his shoulder, the rod of his oppressor, as in the day of Midian.
5 For every battle of the warrior is with confused noise, and garments rolled in blood; but this shall be with burning and fuel of fire.
6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.
7 Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this.Examining prophecy concerning David line in relationship of the Messiah.
Christ as ruler we have yet to see that title fullfilled in Christ though he be our coming King. Why do we not see Jesus as king beyond the spiritual world. Why was he from the line of David? God promised David as long as his children worshipped and obey him a child/ offspring of David would sit on his throne. The horn of David would one day produce an offspring that would care for his people.
David offspring was and is Jesus the bud on his horn. The people were blind to this fact. God's word was already in power but the Messiah was now coming in the flesh as Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, and Prince of Peace.
The Jews were looking for Messiah to rule and allow there faith to rule like time of King David meaning a king of war and peace to rule the land. As much as our own leaders allow wars they could cease in minutes/days they work toward allowing freedom in the world. The freedom of choice verse freedom of controlling governing body. Through out Christ ministery we see a good Sheperd, as the prophet or priestly role and as Saviour. We see him as the Spiritual teacher, guru of the that day, some will fail to see him as coming king to rule our hearts and his kingdom will prevail growing up as bud on the horn of David with growing by his word and rule of love.
Dear Heavenly Father you sent your Son to us to rule in our hearts. Help to allow him reign in our life. In Jesus precious name, Amen. Continual Scripture Study: Ezekiel 29:21 KJV
21 In that day will I cause the horn of the house of Israel to bud forth, and I will give thee the opening of the mouth in the midst of them; and they shall know that I am the LORD.
Jeremiah 23:1-6 KJV
1 Woe be unto the pastors that destroy and scatter the sheep of my pasture! saith the LORD.
2 Therefore thus saith the LORD God of Israel against the pastors that feed my people; Ye have scattered my flock, and driven them away, and have not visited them: behold, I will visit upon you the evil of your doings, saith the LORD.
3 And I will gather the remnant of my flock out of all countries whither I have driven them, and will bring them again to their folds; and they shall be fruitful and increase.
4 And I will set up shepherds over them which shall feed them: and they shall fear no more, nor be dismayed, neither shall they be lacking, saith the LORD.
5 Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will raise unto David a righteous Branch, and a King shall reign and prosper, and shall execute judgment and justice in the earth.
6 In his days Judah shall be saved, and Israel shall dwell safely: and this is his name whereby he shall be called, THE LORD OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS.
Psalm 132:17-18 KJV
17 There will I make the horn of David to bud: I have ordained a lamp for mine anointed.
18 His enemies will I clothe with shame: but upon himself shall his crown flourish. http://www.turtle30cshell.com
