Luke 1:66-80 KJV
66 And all they that heard them laid them up in their hearts, saying, What manner of child shall this be! And the hand of the Lord was with him.
67 And his father Zacharias was filled with the Holy Ghost, and prophesied, saying,
68 Blessed be the Lord God of Israel; for he hath visited and redeemed his people,
69 And hath raised up an horn of salvation for us in the house of his servant David;
70 As he spake by the mouth of his holy prophets, which have been since the world began:
71 That we should be saved from our enemies, and from the hand of all that hate us;
72 To perform the mercy promised to our fathers, and to remember his holy covenant;
73 The oath which he sware to our father Abraham,
74 That he would grant unto us, that we being delivered out of the hand of our enemies might serve him without fear,
75 In holiness and righteousness before him, all the days of our life.
76 And thou, child, shalt be called the prophet of the Highest: for thou shalt go before the face of the Lord to prepare his ways;
77 To give knowledge of salvation unto his people by the remission of their sins,
78 Through the tender mercy of our God; whereby the dayspring from on high hath visited us,
79 To give light to them that sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the way of peace.
80 And the child grew, and waxed strong in spirit, and was in the deserts till the day of his shewing unto Israel.

What manner of child will John be was the question of the witness? Zacharias began to prophesy about is that he would be the prophet of the highest and go before him preparing the way. Yes preparing the way of the Lord. God is Spirit from the begining coming in human form to us as God's Son/word in human flesh as Emannual, meaning God with us. God's eternal plan put in place. What is God plan either win all of society or destroy all that choose not his ways. He allows people to see sometimes the worse things of our world in hopes we desire his way more because he loves us.

God desire to deliver his people from their enemies without fear. There were people laying down their guns during the Iraq war not afraid of what American soldier could do, but surrending in hopes not only of our nation mercy but a brighter future for their people. When our weapons of fighting God is laid down God's weapons of hope, peace, love, mercy and right thinking is provided by God's Spirit. All evil is conquerable by God's love. Other's see God's light of love in our life. One hardest things mankind deals with is the temptation of human emotion. The rage the hate, and the desire to be evil yet within the believers heart is the love of Christ fighting the war within us to be more like Jesus and not the devil. The nation of Israel was being spiritually restore through the kingly line and not the priesthood but had to begin with restoration of first rebuilding of the Temple and God sending his own prophet to announcing the one that would restore Israel from their sin and world from their sin. The kingly line of David that had corrupted Israel with their sin the nation was now being cleansed through the coming of the Messiah. John would be the prophet that would testify of this.

6 In his days Judah shall be saved, and Israel shall dwell safely: and this is his name whereby he shall be called, THE LORD OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS.
