Angel continue to speak to Zacharias.
Luke 1:14-23 KJV
14 And thou shalt have joy and gladness; and many shall rejoice at his birth.
15 For he shall be great in the sight of the Lord, and shall drink neither wine nor strong drink; and he shall be filled with the Holy Ghost, even from his mother's womb.
16 And many of the children of Israel shall he turn to the Lord their God.
17 And he shall go before him in the spirit and power of Elias, to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the disobedient to the wisdom of the just; to make ready a people prepared for the Lord.
18 And Zacharias said unto the angel, Whereby shall I know this? for I am an old man, and my wife well stricken in years.
19 And the angel answering said unto him, I am Gabriel, that stand in the presence of God; and am sent to speak unto thee, and to shew thee these glad tidings.
20 And, behold, thou shalt be dumb, and not able to speak, until the day that these things shall be performed, because thou believest not my words, which shall be fulfilled in their season.
21 And the people waited for Zacharias, and marvelled that he tarried so long in the temple.
22 And when he came out, he could not speak unto them: and they perceived that he had seen a vision in the temple: for he beckoned unto them, and remained speechless.
23 And it came to pass, that, as soon as the days of his ministration were accomplished, he departed to his own house.

Zacharias would have joy at his son's birth. Special and unique this child would be filled with the Holy Spirit from birth. He would not be fed strong drink or wine. He would go "in the power of Elias/Elijah to prepare the way for the Lord". Elijah went by the power of the Holy Spirit and took out the worshippers of Baal in a challenge.

Here God is already given Zacharias knowledge of prophetic change. Zacharias asked for evidence of what spoken to him is true. How would you reacted if this happened to you. Remember this was a sacred duty Zacharias was performing when this angel appeared to him on right hand side of the altar as he talked to him. First key sign of this not only prophetic but ordain of God because it was in the Holies of Holies. The most Holy place in the temple where only Priesthood were allowed. Yet Zacharias asked for a sign. Angel told him his name was Gabriel. Same angel name as spoken in the prophecies of Daniel. Zacharias and his wife were old the question was very human one. No doubt he knew the story of Abraham and Sarah having a baby in old age. Without experiencing this type of revelation before, the ability to even receive this revelation of his coming son was even difficult for him it seems. Yet here he was in present of God Spirit and God's angel. Angel told him he would not be able to speak because he did not believe God's word that would come in due season. If one experiences prophecy you may yearn for more. Yet are you wanting prophecy for what reason? God gives prophecy that when it comes to pass the believer and non believers will know it from God and glorify him. Producing change to belief in due time.

Zacharias comes out where people are praying and he can not speak but they know he had a vision of some kind or something. He finish up his days of service and went home.

We examine prophecy during Isaiah, Jeremiah, and Ezekiel. They handle difficult prophecy concerning destruction of Israel. Not all prophecy is the bearer of good news. This prophecy spoke of joy coming. Christmas message is a message of joy.

Dear Heavenly Father may we find joy in prophetic word surrounding change to come even when destruction tarries in regards to Christ return. In Jesus precious name, Amen.

15 And it came to pass, when I, even I Daniel, had seen the vision, and sought for the meaning, then, behold, there stood before me as the appearance of a man.
16 And I heard a man's voice between the banks of Ulai, which called, and said, Gabriel, make this man to understand the vision.
17 So he came near where I stood: and when he came, I was afraid, and fell upon my face: but he said unto me, Understand, O son of man: for at the time of the end shall be the vision.
18 Now as he was speaking with me, I was in a deep sleep on my face toward the ground: but he touched me, and set me upright.
19 And he said, Behold, I will make thee know what shall be in the last end of the indignation: for at the time appointed the end shall be.
