Sacred Announcement 12/03/2023
Daily Devotions: by Christina FarrisLuke 1:7-13 KJV
7 And they had no child, because that Elisabeth was barren, and they both were now well stricken in years.
8 And it came to pass, that while he executed the priest's office before God in the order of his course,
9 According to the custom of the priest's office, his lot was to burn incense when he went into the temple of the Lord.
10 And the whole multitude of the people were praying without at the time of incense.
11 And there appeared unto him an angel of the Lord standing on the right side of the altar of incense.
12 And when Zacharias saw him, he was troubled, and fear fell upon him.
13 But the angel said unto him, Fear not, Zacharias: for thy prayer is heard; and thy wife Elisabeth shall bear thee a son, and thou shalt call his name John. The Sacred occasion of burning incense in the most holies holies for a priest came with purifying himself not only for this duty but it came with a reverence toward God. To be one's turn for this task came with a sacred duty of being part of the priesthood. Priest had died going into the holies of holies to the point they would tie a rope to the priest that entered. If he past out or died they would pull the dead priest out. The fear of God holiness was real. It was to be taken with all seriousness. To understand this seriousness one might need to observe a more legalistic church in the form of ritualism. No laughing the memorized speech, prayer, and ceremony to perform this sacred duty. Was not like going in a store and buying three items and out the door. Ir not like birthday party, or even the formalities of a wedding. There was a reverence of God in this sacred duty in the temple. Outside people were praying and inside priesthood was praying.
Zacharias was praying in the holies of holies when angel made sacred and anoint announcement to him. Talking to angels was not a normal everyday event, though angels did minister and speak to God's people in form of sacred announcement. Angel told Zacharias he would have a son and he would be called John. Two things to note very first verse speaks that they were striken with age and that his wife was barren and the third thing is in the last few verses Zacharias was still praying for a child. Most old people are ready for a granchild not a baby. What in the world was Zacharias doing praying for impossibility. He was real with having the reproach of men on his wife removed. She and him both bullied by others because they had no children.
He been told he will have a baby boy before ultrasound technology. We will continue the story tomorrow but think of your long time prayer you have waited for do you think it is possible for God to answer. Yes it is. For nothing is impossible for God. God sees the heart desire. God likes to grant his children that diligently seek him.
Dear Heavenly Father Help us to believe in the impossibility always in accordance to your will. In Jesus precious name, Amen. Continual Scripture Study: Luke 1:24-25 KJV
24 And after those days his wife Elisabeth conceived, and hid herself five months, saying,
25 Thus hath the Lord dealt with me in the days wherein he looked on me, to take away my reproach among men.
Hebrews 11:6 KJV
6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. http://www.turtle30cshell.com
