What Would You Do If God Asked You? Lesson 30 8/30/2023
Daily Devotions: by Christina FarrisGenesis 3:8-10 KJV
8 And they heard the voice of the LORD God walking in the garden in the cool of the day: and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the LORD God amongst the trees of the garden.
9 And the LORD God called unto Adam, and said unto him, Where art thou?
10 And he said, I heard thy voice in the garden, and I was afraid, because I was naked; and I hid myself.
Imagine for a moment you know you eaten what forbidden to you. Let's call it chips. That bag of chips that was for tomorrow for someone's picnic is now consumed. Too hide the evidence you stuff the chip bag with grocery bags and you glue the bag shut. Ready for the next day the one needing chips grab what appears full but it does not shake right. The bag is openned to reveal the hidden truth. Now the person needing bag of chips knows there where chips in the bag when bought. The one that devour the bag is now hiding. The question is not what happened to the chips but why are you hiding? The truth it the missing chips that the problem it is the guilt of the consuming the chips, that you went to extremes to hide the truth. Instead of saying i consumed the bag of chips, guilt makes one perform the act of betrayal of hidding the fact and disguising it.
God was upset about disobedience, but was more concern Adam was hiding the fact of what he did. Our guilt is our unconfession of not sharing with our maker even things we do wrong. Before the fruit if Adam sinned or displeased God he didn't know it unless God told him. What changed he had listen to his wife over God his Father. Parents want to know all about there children, they may not want to here the bad but they know if they done it too. Their sin desiring what is forbidden, eating it and hiding it.
Adam's nakeness revealed. God never wanted man to have the knowledge of good and evil, but he gave the tree to see in the garden and the fruit it would bear. It was appealing to the eye. A bag of chips to someone hungry is temptation but there was other things to eat. Why was the warning of consequences not believed, because his wife inticed him as the serpent had her.
The consequences was death salvation came with the covering of skin as they were cast out of garden provide by God by the death of a lamb. God does not cast him from his throne room until time of judgement. If we believe in him we well sing around God's throne(new heaven being is seat and new earth becoming his foot stool). God covers our sin with the blood of the lamb that was slain(his son Jesus). All are sin is covered by him when we admit or confess our sin?
Do you receive Jesus payment for your sin. Or are you going to try and hide sin. are you going to continue in the very things that displease God. Stop hiding what God sees receive his payment and try and do what is right and believe his gift of love and the work on cross did by his Son.
Remember one day all our sin will be revealed unless it covered by the blood of Jesus. Receive Christ as Savior today.
Dear Heavenly Father you see all, forgive our sin and may Christ blood applied as we believe in you and your Son and Spirit. In Jesus precious name, Amen. Continual Scripture Study: Romans 2:11-16 KJV
11 For there is no respect of persons with God.
12 For as many as have sinned without law shall also perish without law: and as many as have sinned in the law shall be judged by the law;
13 (For not the hearers of the law are just before God, but the doers of the law shall be justified.
14 For when the Gentiles, which have not the law, do by nature the things contained in the law, these, having not the law, are a law unto themselves:
15 Which shew the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience also bearing witness, and their thoughts the mean while accusing or else excusing one another;)
16 In the day when God shall judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ according to my gospel.
Revelation 20:11-14 KJV
11 And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them.
12 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.
13 And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.
14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. http://www.turtle30cshell.com
