Lord Hears Your Request

Daily Devotions:
by Christina Farris

Psalm 28:1-9 KJV
1 A Psalm of David. Unto thee will I cry, O LORD my rock; be not silent to me: lest, if thou be silent to me, I become like them that go down into the pit.
2 Hear the voice of my supplications, when I cry unto thee, when I lift up my hands toward thy holy oracle.
3 Draw me not away with the wicked, and with the workers of iniquity, which speak peace to their neighbours, but mischief is in their hearts.
4 Give them according to their deeds, and according to the wickedness of their endeavours: give them after the work of their hands; render to them their desert.
5 Because they regard not the works of the LORD, nor the operation of his hands, he shall destroy them, and not build them up.
6 Blessed be the LORD, because he hath heard the voice of my supplications.
7 The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusted in him, and I am helped: therefore my heart greatly rejoiceth; and with my song will I praise him.
8 The LORD is their strength, and he is the saving strength of his anointed.
9 Save thy people, and bless thine inheritance: feed them also, and lift them up for ever.

The worse thing to feel is that no one hears you. David at times cried out to God and begged God not to be silent to him. To hear him, because in God's silence David felt as if he was in a pit(hell). He lifted his hands to the law and recognized his own sins, and asked God not to cast him out. Not to allow him to be counted with the wicked. Sad state of affairs is we were cast out along with the wicked until our day of salvation. Until we receive the word of faith, as David and the word of faith of God that if anyone that would believe in his Son, Jesus would be saved. God's law not on the ten laws, but the law of faith. David no doubt seen those laws and could not think of one law he did not break. And yet he had to trust what made Abraham righteous before God would still make him righteous before God as well.

Abraham had faith in God, but did he have faith that he would have a son? Did he have faith that Sarah would be the one having his first son of promise. Faith in God is a work in progress. Our own faith is a work of progress. There are times when we feel God's not listening. There times when man/ woman feels not even their spouse, children or friends are hearing their plight, much less God. The feeling of emptiness surrounds the person and frustration of not an answer of hope or truth. David eye of sin was not vacant from his life even before Bathesheba. However Bathesheba was a soldier's wife that served him. He had concubines, many wives and yet sin was always at his door because of the greatness of his warriorlike status in Israel. What woman did he want tonight, he was warrior and known to defeat the enemy in numbers and then he became king. Yet His sin, was never corrected til Bathesheba. It is where he coveted another man's wife, where he took her and then tried to kill her husband because he would not go home, not knowing his wife was pregnant by another man, the king.

David struggle of obedience long before Bathesheba. David knew the mercy of God because of his humanity was seeped in sin and he deserved the punishment of heathens. He knew he was a sinner. We all sin and all fall short of the glory of God and yet even in our sin God grace is sufficient for us. For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord(Romans 6:23). What does it mean with omission to sin one has to repent(turn from sin and evil desires). To turn away from sin is to repent. but how many of us continue in our sin. David struggle as a man and man with power. He would take one more wife mentioned in scripture to keep his old bones warm as he aged. Did he have others after Bathesheba and before this other one, i have to do research. David seen the law and his inability to keep it completely, but the first command he did correctly and that was to love God and not to have idols in his life. He loved God and that what made him righteous because of his love and his faith.

He knew God was his shield and his strength. His shield to protect him from sin and the enemy. God was his fortress in his life. Yet he still failed. Our supplication is heard even in our sin. Our struggle with sin is real, our struggle against the enemy is real. Thank Lord for his mercy and grace, what we deserve we do not receive because of our faith. Yet it does not mean we go ever without correction, it means we have hope of eternity despite our mistakes here on earth.

God perserves us in our weakness of our flesh, because he loves us. He loves all people, but not all people love him. and so people reject him, his way and face the consequences of the sin of unbelief, complete denial of God's ways being good and so forth, their own corruption because of only following their own desires that take them from faith in God. We all wrestle and we all feel like God does not hear or answer our request at times, but that were faith must abound in the will of God. That what we ask in Christ name according to his will he hears us and will do it. Knowing tha according to his word he will carry out his word in his time frame. If he promises salvation to your family, it will happen, and his call to them is immediate but their answer is not always immediate. Our request must entail his will not based on our own desires of sin.

Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for your faithfulness to hear your people to hear them even when you response is not immediately to our will, but according to your will in our life. In Jesus precious name, Amen.

Continual Scripture Study: 1 John 5:14-15 KJV
14 And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us:
15 And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.

Philippians 4:6-7 KJV
6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.
7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
