Thankful For Freedom In Christ Jesus
11/05/2022

Daily Devotions:
by Christina Farris

Galatians 4:22-31 KJV
22 For it is written, that Abraham had two sons, the one by a bondmaid, the other by a freewoman.
23 But he who was of the bondwoman was born after the flesh; but he of the freewoman was by promise.
24 Which things are an allegory: for these are the two covenants; the one from the mount Sinai, which gendereth to bondage, which is Agar.
25 For this Agar is mount Sinai in Arabia, and answereth to Jerusalem which now is, and is in bondage with her children.
26 But Jerusalem which is above is free, which is the mother of us all.
27 For it is written, Rejoice, thou barren that bearest not; break forth and cry, thou that travailest not: for the desolate hath many more children than she which hath an husband.
28 Now we, brethren, as Isaac was, are the children of promise.
29 But as then he that was born after the flesh persecuted him that was born after the Spirit, even so it is now.
30 Nevertheless what saith the scripture? Cast out the bondwoman and her son: for the son of the bondwoman shall not be heir with the son of the freewoman.
31 So then, brethren, we are not children of the bondwoman, but of the free.

Reflection of particial rerun but a refresher in mind of the hope of faith, not of law of man. Simple you feel I writen on the subjected used a passage recently, realize the rerun helps in the daily refreshing in our hearts to silence the question of faith that devil loves to cause. Don't allow the devil to steal one ounce of your joy in faith in Christ Jesus this morning. Let's begin:

Hagar subject to the law of Abraham and not the law of God. Sarah born free, subject to Abraham no, for she gave her maid to Abraham. Not in submission to Abraham, or his leadership, but declared her submission to bring forth a male heir of promise spoken of the Lord who dined with Abraham. She had laughed at the news of her and her husband having a chlld, but no doubt submitted to Abraham to either shut him up for once and for all or to receive the promise of God. We do not if Sarah was still involved with Abraham during the time of Hagar slavery to Abraham. We do not know if Sarah submission to Abraham came because of Hagar treatment of her, or because Hagar had conceived. Think for a moment how old was Hagar, she was a maid perhaps many years under Sarah, but not out of child bearing years. Sarah out of child bearing years still conceived by promise of the Lord. Miracle none the less, but promise of eternal hope, because it was like a sign and evidence of the power of God. Something more here, Hagar at the time of Sarah was in submission to both Abraham and Sarah. In submission not by choice but enslavement. When Hagar was set free, she still submitted to God of Abraham, but no longer to the law of Abraham and Sarah. Two laws in Jerusalem one of curse and one of freedom. The law of proper ettiquette or proper living under government and the submission to the laws of faith in God. Now we know Hagar believed in God, and submitted to him as water was made available to her in the wilderness before her only son died of thirst and dehydration. At that moment that light of God shined in her heart.

What is the real Jerusalem it is the laws of the land or faith in God. We have to examine what we know Hagar knew the results of following God and so her children became subject to God but not the laws and rules of government of Israel. Christ the promise was to bring all people together both Jew and Gentile not under the law of man though man was born under the law of man and had to obey it but free from the law of God that said that our sin caused our death for eternity, or separation from God. Yet the promise of faith was already, for did not Elijah and Moses stand with Jesus in the transfiguration. Then how did Christ change the promise, he brought forth the word that continue from old Testament to New Testament that does not change into the light and knowledge of all people. The work of Christ on the cross took away the sins of the world. Just like Adam brought forth death through disobedience, Christ died for the sins of the world once and for all, taking away the reproach of our sin, for Christ came in obedience from birth to death to his cross God called him too. Yet he had no ability to sin, because of who he was and yet faced temptation as a man. Our sin maybe of the world but is it of God. Our denial of God and his power is sin to God, our unbelief marking us as not his child, not saved by grace. Condemning us to a greater death, of not understanding what we loose without God until death. As a believer we have a greater hope and knowledge of our eternity with God through the forgiveness of sin, and through faith in Christ Jesus, our hope, because it not by his flesh we are saved but the promise of forgiveness by his word, by his work on the cross in the flesh, that through the resurrection, we see the hope of salvation has he spent days following with his disciples. The forgiveness through no longer separated by Christ, yet he ascends into heaven and the cloud of heaven separate us from Christ in the incorruptible flesh, so that we learn to walk by the Spirit of God, who manifested through the day of Pentecoste. Coming in a baptism/filling of his Spirit of boldness to which ever child of God spreads the Gospel by, and works of God are performed. Many understand it not, because the evidence of the Spirit in some cases can be duplicated, but gifts of healing, quietness of a storm, and power of God's presence in the slaying of his Spirit can not be duplicated. Healing through knowledge of a doctor maybe of God but it does not mean the doctor is a believer. It like salvation may come in a storm by unbeliever, but God used the unbeliever in the storm. Fear of God came on sailors during the storm at sea in Jonah life, and to toss over board was enough to cause them to worship Jonah God with the calm of the storm. The jailor watching over the prisoner Paul and Silas had no fear of leaving the prison in their cell and taking them home to share the Gospel with his family. What happening fearing the escape and the power of God over powering the believer to go forth and continue the Gospel despite what else is happening, no prisoners escaped during this time. Nothing recorded anyway.

Where is faith in the law of the land or God. I believe our laws are to work for and against those not in faith in Chrsit Jesus and sometimes a go between in legal issues among the saints as well. I believe the law of God of love is also enforced by God himself, and the love of the jailor that night for Paul and Silas is demonstrated by taking care of the wounds of the beating they had received the day before. Then Paul used his status as a Roman citizen to free himself by the law of Rome.

God's law freeing Paul and Silas long before the law of man. God's law of salvation freeing the saint long before their death or translation into heaven in our world today. Enoch a man of faith and was translated as was Elisha. The law of faith superceding any law of of man. Yet we may die to the law of man despite the law of grace. Hagar found God's grace in the wilderness and forgiveness despite her and her son's sin. Why because she know doubt had faith. despite her sin against man. Each of her children heirs of promise hope of faith same as their father, but still receive the promise sent to Israel who denied the promise hope of salvation in Christ Jesus, some coming to repentance and some still in denial until this very day and beyond into tomorrow. Subjection to the lawgiver of man but never subject to the spiritual laws of God. God demonstrating the law of freedom through his Son. That faith was greater then the law of man.

Countdown to Thankgiving is thankful the law of faith that supercedes the law of man, but does not take away the law of man on earth.

Dear Heavenly Father thank you for your law of grace and forgiveness, for the law of faith in Christ that set us free from sin and death, destroying the laws that destroy religious rulers of law alone. In Jesus precious name, Amen.

Continual Scripture Study: Galatians 5:1 KJV
1 Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.

Genesis 21:14-21 KJV
14 And Abraham rose up early in the morning, and took bread, and a bottle of water, and gave it unto Hagar, putting it on her shoulder, and the child, and sent her away: and she departed, and wandered in the wilderness of Beersheba.
15 And the water was spent in the bottle, and she cast the child under one of the shrubs.
16 And she went, and sat her down over against him a good way off, as it were a bowshot: for she said, Let me not see the death of the child. And she sat over against him, and lift up her voice, and wept.
17 And God heard the voice of the lad; and the angel of God called to Hagar out of heaven, and said unto her, What aileth thee, Hagar? fear not; for God hath heard the voice of the lad where he is.
18 Arise, lift up the lad, and hold him in thine hand; for I will make him a great nation.
19 And God opened her eyes, and she saw a well of water; and she went, and filled the bottle with water, and gave the lad drink.
20 And God was with the lad; and he grew, and dwelt in the wilderness, and became an archer.
21 And he dwelt in the wilderness of Paran: and his mother took him a wife out of the land of Egypt.

Acts 16:25-36 KJV
25 And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises unto God: and the prisoners heard them.
26 And suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken: and immediately all the doors were opened, and every one's bands were loosed.
27 And the keeper of the prison awaking out of his sleep, and seeing the prison doors open, he drew out his sword, and would have killed himself, supposing that the prisoners had been fled.
28 But Paul cried with a loud voice, saying, Do thyself no harm: for we are all here.
29 Then he called for a light, and sprang in, and came trembling, and fell down before Paul and Silas,
30 And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved?
31 And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.
32 And they spake unto him the word of the Lord, and to all that were in his house.
33 And he took them the same hour of the night, and washed their stripes; and was baptized, he and all his, straightway.
34 And when he had brought them into his house, he set meat before them, and rejoiced, believing in God with all his house.
35 And when it was day, the magistrates sent the serjeants, saying, Let those men go.
36 And the keeper of the prison told this saying to Paul, The magistrates have sent to let you go: now therefore depart, and go in peace.
