Thank You Lord For Teaching Us To Praise You 11/04/2022
Daily Devotions: by Christina FarrisPsalm 26:1-12 KJV
1 A Psalm of David. Judge me, O LORD; for I have walked in mine integrity: I have trusted also in the LORD; therefore I shall not slide.
2 Examine me, O LORD, and prove me; try my reins and my heart.
3 For thy lovingkindness is before mine eyes: and I have walked in thy truth.
4 I have not sat with vain persons, neither will I go in with dissemblers.
5 I have hated the congregation of evil doers; and will not sit with the wicked.
6 I will wash mine hands in innocency: so will I compass thine altar, O LORD:
7 That I may publish with the voice of thanksgiving, and tell of all thy wondrous works.
8 LORD, I have loved the habitation of thy house, and the place where thine honour dwelleth.
9 Gather not my soul with sinners, nor my life with bloody men:
10 In whose hands is mischief, and their right hand is full of bribes.
11 But as for me, I will walk in mine integrity: redeem me, and be merciful unto me.
12 My foot standeth in an even place: in the congregations will I bless the LORD.
How often in storms we need the worship songs of praise. Why do the worship songs of praise in the storm carries us through the hardest times, it because our soul is allowed to soar in song to our Heavenly Father, who hears our heart of praise, our heart of freedom of worship that has no storm. God knows the storms of the world, and knows our praise in those storms of our world will become beautiful through faith in God, because it comes from deep in our soul. He knows our every breath and ounce of praise comes deeper then the storm in our life. Our praise rooted deeper then the anger or frustration of the devils that will not stop throwing rocks of per evil in our life. See gravels of evil can not pentrate the saints heart. only cause flesh wound of our need for a Savior in the storm.
If I can take a little liberty what is our integrity based on, the truth of what we know is true. Our own intergrity in the face of God not being but a small fraction of any story about God. Our own testimony but a fragment of hope of God in someone else's ability to be saved in the storms of this world. Meaning our faith our ability to have faith telling yes Jesus saves. Jesus is our comfort and Jesus is faithful to us through out the day. His law of faith demonstrated being what we need to live by.
Our ability to praise God in the storm, that someone within our hearts is propelling us through the storms and through the valleys where our enemy stands on both sides of us, ready to mock and dismember us. Despite the truth of all things. Our faith being only as good as our actions are. No our intergrity based on good things of faith, hope, love and the word of God in which we live by or try our best to live by. The foundation of the root of faith being Christ in which we stand in the storm of this world.
Testimony time, last few months have been maybe more difficult then many storms I been through. It tested every ounce of my strength and endurance, because in truth I want to do the opposite in anger and not what my faith stands on. This morning in preparation to work on this devotion, I gather every strength of faith I had in my heart, and said Lord, I turning on the music of praise, to get to the root of my faith, meaning the heart of worship, the praising of God. I needed to get to more then just thank you Jesus. More then just hope through praise but the love of God in praise.
Something worship music has always done that scripture does not always do, bring me to a place of concentration on the things of God. Obedience to God to worship is something until we obey it, you can not understand the value of praise. and worship. Acknowledging who God is and who we are with faith in Christ Jesus, and who were before faith in Christ Jesus. Who God is helping us to be. We get this in scripture but sometimes it overlooked, because the stories of faith, are being taught often in looking where Bible characters are headed in their journey of faith, and not where they are at the present of faith in their story. We see the before and after effects of the journey not fully grasping their journey. The every day experience of life. We only get a glimpse of God in the life of the believers. These believers in scripture, get up in the morning maybe with praise on their lips and maybe not. They clean their dishes, cook, struggle to walk in old age across the floor, struggle to go to work, and live normal human life. In Christ ministry we see the glory road of teaching people about faith and the miracles, but we are seeing the perfection of Christ journey and not the human struggle of going throught he struggls of life. We see not the individual struggle beyond the leaders in the wilderness. We see not how hot and tired the people were in need of water other then their grumbling. In Elijah story we see his humanity of fear and running and then exhaustion that causes his sleep under a tree, to a person providing for his needs a meal in his journey.
Intergrity of the prophets seen at the moment of faith in their story. Yet we do not see the struggle of their humanity, because God has taken to a level of faith most of us maybe not reach in our own journey because of our humanity interference. Yet what does song and praise do it brings our hearts to a place of rest in the storm, that when we run through the doors back into our reality of the storm, we able to deal more richly with our struggle by calling on the name of Jesus. At midnight the other night I found myself praying for my husband and his back and his leg, knowing that what was hurting I personally at the moment could not change for him. I been there in my own struggles to many years ago, that the memory was clear in watching his suffering. What I found is prayer in the dark hours of night were more comforting then the frustration of the moment.
To get to that moment of praise, the moment of worship, to reach beyond our world of current problem and see to honor God in the storm is the only survival means we have at the moment, to allow him to do his work in our storm, as he blesses us in our storm spiritually. Yes it does not change what happening sometimes, and other times God calms the one we are praying for that effecting our situation. That time of worship in the storm the only coping we have to calm our own spirit is sometimes more of a blessing then the world can understand, because it only another experience believer can understand. Faith must reach beyond just obedience but praise to God. Our intrigrity of faith must come deeper within ourselves even among our enemy. Our joy and thanksgiving must reach deep within our soul when the things in our world around us at the moment.
Soldiers when in boot camp learn to sing through their pain, sweat and grim, and Christians we got to do the same, to continue our exercise of faith. However we are praising God not using the song to keep our focus on some lyrics that may have no meaning, but focusing on God. Faith in God produces hope of a better tomorrow, a change in our world will come and our life is to keep moving forward despite the pain, agony of this world. Praising God at the soul level not the common sense level is where it at. Our brain understands not the power of God that transforms us to keep marching forward during our day. Praising God enriches our personal relationship and experience with God. Our obedience to the word is only a part of the journey and testimony to our Spirit.
Journey to turn it over to God is part of the battle of our intergrity with God and man. because our ability in our intergrity of faith must allow us to rest on God's word in the storm. To rest in glorify God in the storm of times when our battles were fought by God alone in our heart. The psalmist knew this, knew to honor God brought a peace that the situation in life could not. He could glorify God and all God does because of his knowledge of honoring God brough spiritual peace in the storm and sometimes God delivered in the storm and other times it was part of the journey through the muck and mire of life. Yet God brings through praise peace of the soul. when we know there is one greater and mighter then us in our journey.
May we in our countdown of Thanksgiving, day 21 remember this is a time of perfect praise. A time to thank God for the gift of worshipping him, enables him to heal our spirit and to work in our hearts to help us in the journey.
Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for giving us worship a time of healing through song, and praise to God our father, deep within our sould and Spirit. In Jesus precious name, Amen.
Continual Scripture Study: 2 Corinthians 1:3-7 KJV
3 Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort;
4 Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God.
5 For as the sufferings of Christ abound in us, so our consolation also aboundeth by Christ.
6 And whether we be afflicted, it is for your consolation and salvation, which is effectual in the enduring of the same sufferings which we also suffer: or whether we be comforted, it is for your consolation and salvation.
7 And our hope of you is stedfast, knowing, that as ye are partakers of the sufferings, so shall ye be also of the consolation.
