Bring In The Sheaves 11/02/2022
Daily Devotions: by Christina FarrisGenesis 21:5-7 KJV
5 And Abraham was an hundred years old, when his son Isaac was born unto him.
6 And Sarah said, God hath made me to laugh, so that all that hear will laugh with me.
7 And she said, Who would have said unto Abraham, that Sarah should have given children suck? for I have born him a son in his old age.
Tears of Sarah brough in laughter or joy due to the promise being fullfilled. Yet today is about joy in the camp. Sarah gave forth her first born and only son whose name would be Isaac. The promise heir to Abraham and her. The promise heir promised by God. The son in old age Sarah thought it impossible to produce an heir in old age, did so and laughed out loud because God promise had been fullfilled. How many Christians wait for their loved ones to be saved, and not yet born again by God's Spirit, but know that God promised them there family would be saved. How many wait for their love ones and never see the prize of their love one's salvation. Yet we walk the earth and hope for the promise to be fulfilled. When we realize to be saved one must only believe in the Lord Jesus Christ to be saved, then what is man waiting on. Of course to believe in Christ you will also believe in God from who gave his word and we believe, that anyone that calls on the name of Jesus will be saved. We rest on that promise.
Jailor the night Paul and Silas were in prison, found Paul and Silas with the other prisoners after an earthquake, and his words what must I do to be saved. Paul and Silas told him believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, he would be saved and also his household. Laughter and tears come to those in heaven, to those who see the heathens destroyed, and the sheaves or Wheat bound, brought to glory, of those promised brought to the hope and joy of eternity. To have a child is great joy, no mother would deny it in most cases, but to have a child and not want it is sorrow. To have a child and not know what to do with the baby is sorrow. We as Christians should look at any life with joy and any new birth with greater joy, because one came to know Jesus. Joy often brings laughter, because it is a joyous event. To see one saved is joyous to see the word of God to come to pass in the lives of the believer who long for their love ones to join them in salvation. Sarah hope and joy felt at the first birth of her son, and yet she would teach this son of not only his birth but the promise of his birth to her and Abraham. How many know they were saved because other loved ones were saved and were not the first of their family saved. They were offspring of another salvation. Let us rejoice in salvation of faith and the salvation yet to come. If you lost a loved one and they knew of your salvation you can still have hope, for it not for us to judge by outward show, but know that God saving grace was that love one upon belief. We just do not know if someone else receives at times. We can not worry about it. Laugh and enjoy that time with those that receive salvation and pray for them in their journey.
Twenty third day of the Thanksgiving Countdown comes with the joy of spiritual birth promise and has come to our loves ones and for those we wait for.
Dear Heavenly Father as we wait help our love ones unsaved come to the saving of their salvation. In Jesus precious name, Amen. Continual Scripture Study: Psalm 126:1-6 KJV
1 A Song of degrees. When the LORD turned again the captivity of Zion, we were like them that dream.
2 Then was our mouth filled with laughter, and our tongue with singing: then said they among the heathen, The LORD hath done great things for them.
3 The LORD hath done great things for us; whereof we are glad.
4 Turn again our captivity, O LORD, as the streams in the south.
5 They that sow in tears shall reap in joy.
6 He that goeth forth and weepeth, bearing precious seed, shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him.
Acts 16:30-34 KJV
30 And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved?
31 And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.
32 And they spake unto him the word of the Lord, and to all that were in his house.
33 And he took them the same hour of the night, and washed their stripes; and was baptized, he and all his, straightway.
34 And when he had brought them into his house, he set meat before them, and rejoiced, believing in God with all his house. http://www.turtle30cshell.com
