Thankful For Human LIfe 11/01/2022
Daily Devotions: by Christina FarrisGenesis 2:22-25 KJV
2 And the rib, which the LORD God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man.
23 And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man.
24 Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.
25 And they were both naked, the man and his wife, and were not ashamed.
The other day as I flipped through social media, I could not help but love the view of a friend's post outside her window at night. During the pandemic this was often her view day and night. Every night the flow from the pentahouse was beautiful with lights glowing from the windows below her. I can not imagine this sight every night without the picture, because i have outdoors lights around with neighbor light coming and going occasionally. Yet the point being the picture of human life exist as lights flickered on to say we are still all here. Many years ago a woman told me how her and her neighbor watch out for each other. And each night they would watch across the street to see each others light come on and if it did not come on in reasonable time frame one or the other would call and check on each other, or just call to say hello, I am still hear. That need to know others are alive around us exist even as early as the first man. Man was so excited about woman he said in Praise to God I now "have bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, Because she was taken out of Man. Therefore shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh." How many times had Adam observed the mating of animals, the coupling of the animals and the animals surrounded by their children, that he long for this one thing. And God made him woman, when no other mate could be found.
Woman upon giving birth to her first born son Praise God and said I got a man from the Lord. Eve being the only women created from man, but at the creation from her womb came forth, she smile at the life she cuddled in her arms and praised God. The natural instinct to thank God for other human life, from young to the old. The knowledge of new life to the age of gray hair existing. As we begin the Annual Thanksgiving Count down there are 24 days to be thankful and our first day of thanksgiving countdown is for human life. May we thank God for all the people in the world, close and nearby to far and away.
Dear Heavenly Father thank you for human life, for the life you breath in first man to the life you molded from Adam rib, to the first birth and all human life that preceded. In Jesus precious name, Amen.
