Circumcision Of The Heart
6/24/2022

Daily Devotions:
by Christina Farris

Galatians 6:1-18 KJV
1 Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted.
2 Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ.
3 For if a man think himself to be something, when he is nothing, he deceiveth himself.
4 But let every man prove his own work, and then shall he have rejoicing in himself alone, and not in another.
5 For every man shall bear his own burden.
6 Let him that is taught in the word communicate unto him that teacheth in all good things.
7 Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.
8 For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.
9 And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.
10 As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith.
11 Ye see how large a letter I have written unto you with mine own hand.
12 As many as desire to make a fair shew in the flesh, they constrain you to be circumcised; only lest they should suffer persecution for the cross of Christ.
13 For neither they themselves who are circumcised keep the law; but desire to have you circumcised, that they may glory in your flesh.
14 But God forbid that I should glory, save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world is crucified unto me, and I unto the world.
15 For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision, but a new creature.
16 And as many as walk according to this rule, peace be on them, and mercy, and upon the Israel of God.
17 From henceforth let no man trouble me: for I bear in my body the marks of the Lord Jesus.
18 Brethren, the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit. Amen.

What we sow we will reap. Something after fifty years what has been reap, it better left for the fire and not food worth eating or sown to grow again. If an adult turning 20 he may look and say he or she did not do to badly throug his/her's rebellious teen years. However at 28 one might say I did worse from 21 to 25. Let us not talk about our 30s or 40s. Yet one may view your life as pretty perfect but in reality it is not. One might not of even broken one law, so by definition of sin, you feel you done pretty good for yourself. You may even look at another brother or sister in Christ that seems to have many short failings and decide he or she not worth forgiving even though they asked. There is your biggest mistake, because you know not what temptation will befall you though you seem to do what is right most of your life. You want to be forgiven as you forgave others.

Through Christ we are not under the law but the law is there to obey, to give a guideline to human decency. Yet the law has nothing to do with faith. Faith in Christ Jesus and to walk by the Spirit, to obey the Spirit is to be above the law. Yet the law is guideline to walk by, but does not mean it measure up to the walk by the Spirit. The Ten Commandments is only standard to know what God expected from man. Let's give an example Paul is using when writing the Galatian church. He says he does not teach circumcision, because circumicision in itself did not mean much. Okay but in reality circumicision was a testimony between God and man of righteousness through faith. Without the law of circumcision, faith still abounded. Circumcision was given to every male in Abraham's household including servants. Meaning some would of had the ceremony without faith perhaps, but circumision of the heart is the transformation God does to the heart. God circumcises our heart through the cross of Jesus and in Abraham day through his word coming forth and becoming evidence of God's truth. Yet one still had to believe to receive the heart circumcision, meaning man/woman believes God. God told Abraham to leave his family he was going to the promise land. Abraham was believing God more then just for land, but for the promise of eternal life. The home beyond the rainbow, or earthly promises. He believe God for a son. Like Adam's story of wifely betrayal, Abraham was tempted by Sarah to try for offspring another way. Only for God to remind Abraham of the promise once more but this time God's word would prevail in Abraham and Sarah's old age. The first son being of bondswoman and the second being of promise. Abraham did not have enough faith to resist his wife offer, that God would make her a mother of his offspring of promise.

Do we have enough faith? Do we understand faith comes by hearing the word of God and seeing it come to pass on earth and heaven. Circumcision was only outward sign that faith exist even when it was weak. God sent his Son for us to have faith that he will return one day to redeem his people. Do you have enough faith to believe God will redeem you through faith in Jesus, because you believe has God has spoken and recorded in his word, you will one day receive the promise hope if you continue in faith. Baptism being a sign of faith, but had no value without faith growing. Through out the Christian experience if you have faith and will obey the Spirit God will increase your faith to help you cross that finish line.

Even if you have alzheimers, your mind might go but God sees your heart. Had heart transplant God sees the heart of your spirit, you need not the physical spirit for that. Glory not in the flesh, the things like circumcision or water baptism, but the work Christ did on the cross, by redeem us from our sins. The work of God's transforming us to be people of faith. The work only he can do in our life. Glory in the work of Christ did on the cross. Not to ever be boastful of your cross, but glory in his greatness to help you grow in faith, to be that new creation transformed by his love. How Christ transformed us through faith in him, because of God's love for us, Christ died for us.

Dear Heavenly Father sow in our life your word, so you we can glory in the work you do in our life, that brings forth fruit of salvation in others that desire to believe in Christ Jesus and the work on the cross he did for our sins and through redeeming grace through his resurrection. In Jesus precious name, Amen.

Continual Scripture Study: Romans 2:25-29 KJV
25 For circumcision verily profiteth, if thou keep the law: but if thou be a breaker of the law, thy circumcision is made uncircumcision.
26 Therefore if the uncircumcision keep the righteousness of the law, shall not his uncircumcision be counted for circumcision?
27 And shall not uncircumcision which is by nature, if it fulfil the law, judge thee, who by the letter and circumcision dost transgress the law?
28 For he is not a Jew, which is one outwardly; neither is that circumcision, which is outward in the flesh:
29 But he is a Jew, which is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the spirit, and not in the letter; whose praise is not of men, but of God.
