Glorify
6/02/2022

Daily Devotions:
by Christina Farris

Leviticus 10:1-3 KJV
1 And Nadab and Abihu, the sons of Aaron, took either of them his censer, and put fire therein, and put incense thereon, and offered strange fire before the LORD, which he commanded them not.
2 And there went out fire from the LORD, and devoured them, and they died before the LORD.
3 Then Moses said unto Aaron, This is it that the LORD spake, saying, I will be sanctified in them that come nigh me, and before all the people I will be glorified. And Aaron held his peace.

How would you like to lived in the time of the Old Testament and did not do your sacrifice right. Cain in Genesis did not perform the right sacrifice because of his attitude and jealousy of his brother that it got him cast out of God's sight. Aaron Moses brother inlaw and high Priest son's made a strange offering before the Lord and did not what the Lord commanded, and the fire they made consumed them. You talk about backdraft this was a backdraft because of the evil of disobedience.

Sometimes what we feel is trivial means alot of to the Lord. What we think is okay or this will work will not. It maybe even consider a short cut to the process intended. Yet there was a reason for God's instructions to obeying even at the ceremonies done at the altar. God's army needed to obey him. What is the priesthood God's army. People of God that desire to obey him. Most of us fail at some point in obedience to God but this disobedience cost Nadab and Abihu their life. I believe this sacrifice may of not even done for God but an idol. The worship of any other God on the altar of God would of been a strange fire before the Lord.

They were called to obey God and not to worship or perform the sacrifice of foreign gods. Our government officials often deal with other religions not their own, and even offer blessings to those gods not of the God our nation was founded on. Is the wrath of God against our nation, perhaps and maybe not. See their Christians in our land even in our government that will not bow to another or even give well wishes to their pagan worship of others. What am I saying politicians are not ministers, some are. We do have religious people in government in our land. Yet others do not see why it would hurt. Our nation become sympathic to everyone and not regard their individual faith, meaning they still esteem other's faith the same as their own, on individual holy days.

I am not saying that someone can not worship who they wish, I am saying to the believer are you guarding your own heart to worship and sacrifice of faith, to not bow to the pagan rituals of another, even if so trivial. Yoga is thought to be religious because of mediation. Can it be of different faith this stretching practices but it carries the name yoga. The exercises themselves nothing wrong, but it is a problem if you honor another faith in worship from the heart and mind.

Where is the harm it at the mindset and at the heart set. Are we outwardly demonstrating the things of God. No one is perfect. No one has it all right, right. No it is the position of Aaron son's that is causing the problem. They are leaders performing sacrifices not of God and not doing it God's way. This honor not and glorifies not God.

To glorify God we must start with the heart, the mind and the soul of our worship, to make it also outwardly. What if meditation began in the church, teaching people worship and glorifying God is not showmanship, but practice of getting the heart and mind ready for worship through basic simple procedure of worship. The format of the service preparing the heart and mind for the sermon that is to glorify God. It to set the sacrifice of time to present God' sacred word to prepare our hearts for the altar call of submission to God's call.

If our minds are elsewhere it easy to say our heart and mind was not prepared for the call at the end of the service, or even at the beginning. If you just read this devotion did you take time to pray before and after. Did you ask God to speak to your heart on the subject being presented. As a Christian I do not need to perform the sacrificial laws because Christ has paid for my sins, and yet we make sacrifice in our daily life when we take time to honor God, repent of our sin, to do the things pleasing to God because of what he did for us on the cross of Calvary. We glorify God when we yield to his will in obedience to his will for our life.

If you want to glorify God began with your inner self and examine your heart, mind and soul. Next began to think about different things you do in your life and ask are you in obedience to God in these things. Is there anything in your life you do, you know God is not pleased by.

God is a rewarder to those who obey him in worship and in everyday life. He will reveal his glory to you. He reveal many things to your heart and mind. He will demonstrate his mercy. He will glorify himself in our presence without the altar of burnt sacrifices, but the sacrifices of the heart.

Dear Heavenly Father, prepare us to see you glorified and to be in your presence in our life. May we be obedience to your word in our life and not disobedience in our worship. In Jesus precious name, Amen.

Continual Scripture Study: Acts 3:19-23 KJV
19 Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord;
20 And he shall send Jesus Christ, which before was preached unto you:
21 Whom the heaven must receive until the times of restitution of all things, which God hath spoken by the mouth of all his holy prophets since the world began.
22 For Moses truly said unto the fathers, A prophet shall the Lord your God raise up unto you of your brethren, like unto me; him shall ye hear in all things whatsoever he shall say unto you.
23 And it shall come to pass, that every soul, which will not hear that prophet, shall be destroyed from among the people.

Leviticus 9:1-6 KJV
1 And it came to pass on the eighth day, that Moses called Aaron and his sons, and the elders of Israel;
2 And he said unto Aaron, Take thee a young calf for a sin offering, and a ram for a burnt offering, without blemish, and offer them before the LORD.
3 And unto the children of Israel thou shalt speak, saying, Take ye a kid of the goats for a sin offering; and a calf and a lamb, both of the first year, without blemish, for a burnt offering;
4 Also a bullock and a ram for peace offerings, to sacrifice before the LORD; and a meat offering mingled with oil: for to day the LORD will appear unto you.
5 And they brought that which Moses commanded before the tabernacle of the congregation: and all the congregation drew near and stood before the LORD.
6 And Moses said, This is the thing which the LORD commanded that ye should do: and the glory of the LORD shall appear unto you.
