Abundance Of Provision 07/28/2022
Daily Devotions: by Christina FarrisExodus 16:15-21 KJV
15 And when the children of Israel saw it, they said one to another, It is manna: for they wist not what it was. And Moses said unto them, This is the bread which the LORD hath given you to eat.
16 This is the thing which the LORD hath commanded, Gather of it every man according to his eating, an omer for every man, according to the number of your persons; take ye every man for them which are in his tents.
17 And the children of Israel did so, and gathered, some more, some less.
18 And when they did mete it with an omer, he that gathered much had nothing over, and he that gathered little had no lack; they gathered every man according to his eating.
19 And Moses said, Let no man leave of it till the morning.
20 Notwithstanding they hearkened not unto Moses; but some of them left of it until the morning, and it bred worms, and stank: and Moses was wroth with them.
21 And they gathered it every morning, every man according to his eating: and when the sun waxed hot, it melted.
Stocking food items for supplies and stocking food for daily needs out of provision from God or man, is no different. No one wants to see one person hungry or doing without daily bread. No one wants someone who has manna to go everyday without meat, veggies and fruit. Yet what if people are without. Then they are in need of supplies. Supplies for how long? Supplies for a month or supplies for a year depends on how long the supply needs to last. Yet God was supplying manna daily for the people and meat. They only needed supply for their daily needs. Meat last longer but bread is daily. No clue why manna melted in the wilderness but it did, it only lasted for the day. Food supply would come once more to Israel and Manna no longer needed. at the moment it was needed.
Is our food pantries over stocked, are they over filled, to where even the poor without need to stand in the foodline are in line for the abundance of supply? When this happens those who gave to you is now paying double and triple prices in the grocery store. Your supply is going to dwindle once more. Are you prepare to go back to the market, or are you going to still be standing in the line, not ready to neglect the bounty of supply. When the beans and rice come because the rich can't feed you will you then be back in the food stoes only buying those same beans and rice that was supplied to you, because of the higher prices. Cov 19 and change in virus name increase we have to ask who has gone back to work, who can not go back to work, who can recount their loss and who never will and the food line the only line they can eat in, because they no longer qualify for food stamps. It is those retirees that got hit all at once a year or two before their retired status that are going to suffer. People if your young, or been on the system for years consider your sacrifice is not really a sacrifice because of the supply all these years. Find a way to buy from the grocery markets once more. The grocery stores need you. The rich and middle class that feed you, need you too, to step up and buy the food you use too, before their amount is to great a burden and they taking you foodline supply. Remember you take to much it like manna taking to much makes a stink, for people in the wilderness it spoiled. For People in America it might not spoil but it effects the economy and those that cared about your need.
Many years ago people use to get what was known as commodities, it had cheese and other staples for a month supply in a box. The poor received it knowing how long it had to last. It nice when one does not have to count meals, but sometimes it is an evil necessity. Go back and buy what your able for your supplies in the store, and let those that can not to get the help they needed, or we all will starving.
This may not sound really like a devotional today, but it demonstrates how God does want us to rely on daily supply, but only when we can not labor for our food. Jesus was on boat and disciples had not taken food with them after the five thousands had been feed. Pharisees sought signs, and yet they disciples were acting like the Pharisees in need of daily supply of bread. Yet they all knew how to work and all had money. What then was Jesus to supply for them daily. The crowd is often seeking the handout, not understanding God provision is for those famine, and struggle, not for the every month necessarily. It for the harshtimes in life for others to help others in need, it not for those time when one is back on their feet or doing they best they can. Nothing wrong with handout, but if you got it, you do not take advantage of it. People that supply you only hurt yourself and your own family if you do not do it wisely. Better to give then receive, but listen to Jesus discourse to his disciples. It is true, you provide people will become depended on their food Savior the one they can physically see and not God. Don't be that way, learn to use the tools God has given you to use for your supply. Rely on his supply with labor of your hands and If your still in need that what those food pantries, food boxes and so forth are for.
Dear Heavenly Father, only you can fix the economy, only the people seeing their own ability can fix the problem. It will be a slow process, but you are able to do more then we ask, by convicting the hearts of those that receive. In Jesus precious name, Amen.
Continual Scripture Study: Mark 8:14-21 KJV
14 Now the disciples had forgotten to take bread, neither had they in the ship with them more than one loaf.
15 And he charged them, saying, Take heed, beware of the leaven of the Pharisees, and of the leaven of Herod.
16 And they reasoned among themselves, saying, It is because we have no bread.
17 And when Jesus knew it, he saith unto them, Why reason ye, because ye have no bread? perceive ye not yet, neither understand? have ye your heart yet hardened?
18 Having eyes, see ye not? and having ears, hear ye not? and do ye not remember?
19 When I brake the five loaves among five thousand, how many baskets full of fragments took ye up? They say unto him, Twelve.
20 And when the seven among four thousand, how many baskets full of fragments took ye up? And they said, Seven.
21 And he said unto them, How is it that ye do not understand?
