Daily Devotions:
by Christina Farris

Job 40:1-24 KJV
1 Moreover the LORD answered Job, and said,
2 Shall he that contendeth with the Almighty instruct him? he that reproveth God, let him answer it.
3 Then Job answered the LORD, and said,
4 Behold, I am vile; what shall I answer thee? I will lay mine hand upon my mouth.
5 Once have I spoken; but I will not answer: yea, twice; but I will proceed no further.
6 Then answered the LORD unto Job out of the whirlwind, and said,
7 Gird up thy loins now like a man: I will demand of thee, and declare thou unto me.
8 Wilt thou also disannul my judgment? wilt thou condemn me, that thou mayest be righteous?
9 Hast thou an arm like God? or canst thou thunder with a voice like him?
10 Deck thyself now with majesty and excellency; and array thyself with glory and beauty.
11 Cast abroad the rage of thy wrath: and behold every one that is proud, and abase him.
12 Look on every one that is proud, and bring him low; and tread down the wicked in their place.
13 Hide them in the dust together; and bind their faces in secret.
14 Then will I also confess unto thee that thine own right hand can save thee.
15 Behold now behemoth, which I made with thee; he eateth grass as an ox.
16 Lo now, his strength is in his loins, and his force is in the navel of his belly.
17 He moveth his tail like a cedar: the sinews of his stones are wrapped together.
18 His bones are as strong pieces of brass; his bones are like bars of iron.
19 He is the chief of the ways of God: he that made him can make his sword to approach unto him.
20 Surely the mountains bring him forth food, where all the beasts of the field play.
21 He lieth under the shady trees, in the covert of the reed, and fens.
22 The shady trees cover him with their shadow; the willows of the brook compass him about.
23 Behold, he drinketh up a river, and hasteth not: he trusteth that he can draw up Jordan into his mouth.
24 He taketh it with his eyes: his nose pierceth through snares.

The government no one wants to think of the beast in Job's life was more then Devil or beast of the field, if we look deeper, who creates war and who rules who wins war. Chaldeans were causing destruction against Job for the devil. The very one warring against Job. The book of Job chapter one where I discovered this beauty. Job enemy was the Chaldeans who swooped down and destroyed Job's posessions. He lived in the wrong area perhaps, and when Chaldeans came the chose to destroy. The beast In Revelations is the same type of beast that is causing destruction to Job. Yet some of what is causing Job destruction is also the power of the devil to make one ill It somethink one might not grasp from the book of Job, until chapter 40. When God speaks of Behemoth and that fact he and Job created him. Meaning man and God not necessarily Job himself. God's creation of evil is seen in the form of laws that can not save. Is Job able to save himself with his right arm. Can he defeat the enemy. The answer is no for God knows our weakness. Our weakness is nothing compared to God's strength.

To explain the power of government to believe in God as the four beast before God's throne. Yet they are beast/devil because they have power to destroy and to build up. It a power man often looks to in times of trouble. Is government unmovable in power? Only if God allows it to be movable. Yet humanity has the ability to not allow government to control their prosperity or their downfalling, because true prosperity is at the heart. Job seen his wealth and his riches taken and he was rightfully upset, humanly speaking, yet the one thing not taken and could not be taken was his faith, which is true prosperity.

In Revelations the beast are before throne of God and worship at the throne of God. Sometimes we sometimes fail to grasp is not all governments worship God. Yet those that do know the power of God. The power of the governments in the world are only in power til God removes it. Now the real beast in Job call a behemoth is probably hippopotamus or a distinct dinosaur of some sort. Yet God talks that he is able to cover the beast, and lead it beside the still water of Jordan. The devil/government covered and protected by God if they have faith and worship him. They also must obey him, doing the will of God as a nation of God. All this is often foreign thinking to any nation not intune to the knowledge of the will of God for it. God even feeds this government, provides shade tree in the middle of all other creatures. This beast perhaps knows more about the ways of God because it must act in similiar fashion as God the Father. We do not want to think a good nation being God in action and power, yet their power and action is finite compared to God's power and action.

Job has two enemies the government against the land he lives in and actually Satan who has chosen to test him before God. If we can understand this battle, we can understand Job humanities and cries to God. What is our own cries to God. Where are we has people humbled by the power of good governments that power is not worthy to be worshipped as God is? What is more important our faith in God or faith in the government. A few weeks back the news showed picture of Russia and their troops as Urkaine was fighting without mercy to keep their land. Do they have the power to keep it, and protect it. Not by new school rules, but by compassion of governments around the world that see their love for their country that decide to help.

We can not imagine for a moment after hundreds of years what the day of independence was like for our nation, but we can understand God's mercy in the storm of life, God's grace and the destructive nature of our enemy to destory what we know as a safe world. Yet God in his mercy speaks to Job as to say I know it all Job, but can you stop what you see happening to you or the things of this world. The answer is no, but no doubt Job wanted to make some impact on the awful things that were destroying him and his family. Yet he praying humbly before God despite his friends wishes that he would curse God and die. Does God owe Job? Is Job so righteous that destruction can not come in his life. People want to know why they are not healed, why they pray and no deliverance, and my question have you read Job. Have you read II Corinthians first chapter. Then let me tell you the enemy in your life is not always the government or the devil, it your own thoughts that think you have the right to be lofty in thinking that you do not deserve evil or destruction in your life. Remember the haywood and stubble in your life going to be destroyed, and those things that are worth keeping because it has to do with faith and found on the foundation of God's word and Christ Jesus, that those things will not be destroys in your life, those are things you be taking with you to heaven, not the things of flesh. Those are your treasures and rewards.

Dear Heavenly Father, as the enemy is not just power of those stronger and mighty then us, but it is also ourselves the things that we create that are only hay, wood and stubble. In Jesus precious name, Amen.

Continual Scripture Study: Revelation 4:7-11 KJV
7 And the first beast was like a lion, and the second beast like a calf, and the third beast had a face as a man, and the fourth beast was like a flying eagle.
8 And the four beasts had each of them six wings about him; and they were full of eyes within: and they rest not day and night, saying, Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty, which was, and is, and is to come.
9 And when those beasts give glory and honour and thanks to him that sat on the throne, who liveth for ever and ever,
10 The four and twenty elders fall down before him that sat on the throne, and worship him that liveth for ever and ever, and cast their crowns before the throne, saying,
11 Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.
